Seems to be a good little drive
Its been a couple of years since I bought a new hard drive. Hard to believe you can cram 4TB in a drive this small at a reasonable price. I plan to buy another one.

WD 1 TB My Passport USB 3.0 portable Hard Drive

Okay thus far
Was a bit of an issue setting the system with my laptop, but after a lot of clicking and reading the manual that comes with it, the hard drive began to save my images. Quick write speed which surprised me.

Not worth it
Bought two of these for backup that I could easily take home to a second location, but now having them about 8 months they have both become unrecognizable due to the sensitive port usb3.

Space Savings All Round!
To be honest, I THOUGHT I was re-ordering my usual WD My Book 4TB drives (I have 9 of these, on a shelf in my office), at a fantastic price...so imagine my disdain, when an undersized parcel arrived. Nevertheless, I hooked them up, and found that they function just as well as the My Book drive, plus theyre smaller, and (especially important) QUIETER! I can stack a bunch of these puppies on top of each other, and still back up my photos / video jobs...and theyre about 30 bucks cheaper than the bigger, noisier desktop drives. Ill be buying these in future!

Great Price
I love WD products they are great portable hard drives, out of the 5 drives I owned only one failed to work, but that has not stopped me from buying another one and this 4TB is just what a photographer need to hold all the pictures/videos we accumulate

Small and powerful
This is a must for a home computer setup. One great feature is that it does not need an extra power supply and it works with the current drawn from a USB connection. I installed into my Router's 3.0 USB connection and now, my two computers can see it and make the back up as scheduled. It is small with a great capacity, for under a hundred buck. Not bad at all.

Excellent product
I bought the 4TB My Passport to move large files from an older portable hard drive (a WD Elements). This is my second My Passport and it provides a compact, reliable and fast storage. Transfers are seamless and access to files and folders is speedy. B&H Photo also is consistently reliable with its fast delivery. 5 stars!

Not Working
I have tried every suggestion found in a search of the Internet, and I am unable to get this equipment to show up in Computer, so I can use it to save files. I hope it will work on a different computer, so my money was not wasted, but, even after downloading all of the software on the drive, it did not work. The software can find it, Device Manager can find it, but it is still unusable on this Win 7 computer.

Works as planned
I've now owed this hard drive for about 6 months now. I have nothing negative to say about it. Works, and seems reliable, been 6 months and hasn't failed.

Password Protection!!!
I'm going to replace all of my 4 and 5TB portable Seagate (non-password protectable) drives with these because they're so easy to password protect! If connecting the drive to a new computer, unlocking your drive is as easy as putting your password in the pop up window that shows up! Love these drives! Just wish they made a 5TB version like Seagate offers!

Second WD purchase
4TB has plenty of storage. The set up went pretty well. The Drive seams co conflict with my laptop (windows 8.1 with Classic shell) in that an error message on shut down whether I have the drive plugged in or not. Hard for Me to Use
I use a computer every day, but am not knowledgeable about the workings of computers. The device was not easy for me to use. I did not know terms used in the User Guide, and I was unable to install the device myself. The User Guide stated that the kit included a "quick install guide", but none was included. Small size, large capacity
These WD 4TB Passport external hard drives are very useful for storing my photos. Their small size means that I can store them in a fireproof box.

Holds much more data
I already have two other WD My Passport 3GB drives and this one is just a great, only bigger! These drives are fast and rugged, just don't drop them when the are writing data!

First Use is fine
First use of the drive is fine. Functions as expected and is speedy enough. At 4TB and self USB powered, it is a convenient size for portability. I particularly like the bright yellow color offering. It makes distinguishing it from other dedicated portable drive very easy. Of course with only two weeks of use, it's way to soon to appraise durability, So far, so good.

I couldn't get the hard drive to format into exfat on my mac so I ended up doing it on a windows machine but after that it worked fine :p

3 out of 6 failed
I have purchased three of these 4TB MyPassport units. One of them failed (won't read, write, or format). Luckily I adhere to the rule "two backups is one, and one backup is none" so I had two more identical copies of my photography archive. Perfect for my needs!
