Excellent performance and value
I use WD external drives for my local backups. After using them a while I retire the backup drive and purchase another. These drives perform well and represent a good value. I own many and have not had a WD drive fail. Definitely recommended!

Dead after 10 months
I bought TWO of these about 10 days apart (Oct 2018). One was going to be my working drive (I do photography, media, flyers, etc. for a local animal shelter) and the other was going to be my back up drive. The back up drive was written on 5 times only and the 6th time it crashed while backing up, never to recover...replacement is on the way. 2TB My Passport External HD
I bought this drive when B&H had a sale to use for video editing. The drive is well made and handles the need to edit my files on an external drive with Final Cut Pro X. I would recommend this drive!

Compact, easy to use
I have several of these devices and while they're a little slower than some external drives I've owned, they've been very reliable. I use then as backups for images, videos, data. Nice little units.

My 2nd Passport WD 4TB 3.0
This is my 2nd purchase of the Passport WD 4TB 3.0. I chose Blue this time to easily recognize the different devices for my photo files. I like the small size for when I travel and would recommend purchasing this WD 4TB because of its ease of use and size!

Easy to install
This was my 2nd WD My Passport portable hard drive. I had been using one for two years for backing up my desktop computer. The latest one is for storing my burgeoning files of photos. Now, I'm thinking of getting a third My Passport to use for photography while I'm traveling with my laptop.

So far .... excellent!
Since my 2TB Seagate crashed on a trip ... with lots of photos ... I decided to buy 2 of the 1TB size ... and make my photos are always backed up. So far ... the WD external HD's are working and saving photo files ... but ALL hard drives can fail ... make sure you have a back up!

Smaller and faster than previous generation.
It got about 1/3 thinner, and about 10Mb/s faster in both read and write speed than the previous generation with the same design. That's not written in the description.

unreliable HDD
I was using this HDD moderately, for backing up my files every now and then. it only lived for a few months and then stopped working at all without giving me the chance to backup my data making me lose crucial data.

It Does the Job just fine!
I have been using WD for quite a while for photos and video. Never had any issues. Also have some G Drives for video editing, and guess what's inside? You guessed it... WD drives. So, they work just fine for me. Easy to format for PC and MAC. There is nothing fancy about them, but when something works as advertised, that is a 5 star!

Good product for the price

Love the Compact Size
I got this 4TB Passport Drive as part of acanera Lens Kit through B&H, and Ive got to say, so far, it is awesome. I love the fact that it is only around 4.5 x 3.5 in size. It is extremely portable, and yet is a beast for storage. It is exactly what I needed, and Im so glad that B&H offered it in a kit with my Canon 24-70 f2.8L ii lens purchase.

1TB Passport Power
It was time to buy another portable backup since the last backup I purchased 5-years. It was WD 500GB portable hard drive and is still working strong. However, now my music and picture collection has grown so the 1TB is perfect for storage. HIghly recommend!

I dont Trust it
I had it for less than 3 months and it keeps disconnecting and my laptops do not recognize it. It take multiple tries for it to mount. I have the older mode no issues so skip this one get the older version.
