Functions well at my recording studio

Jan 11, 2018

I purchased this headphone amplifier for my recording studio use. I used Personus HP60 and Behringer HA8000. Both supplied insufficient power to the headphones when musicians play their instruments. This ART amplifier drives Beyerdynamic DT-880-pro-250 well. Knob layouts are well thought and the amplifier can be tweaked without requiring too much attentions. The circuit diagram, which is printed on the top of the unit, gives a great help.

Great Features, not as Powerful as Persons

Jul 20, 2016

The rear headphone jacks (parallel jacks present on front panel), mix controls, and Bass and Treble controls on each channel make this headphone amp extremely flexible and perfect for the studio where headphone feeds are permanently wired. Sound quality is adequate for monitoring, but it seems the headphone amps are not as strong as those in my Presonus Monitor Station (V1). We'll see if I run into headroom issues when tracking with drums, but otherwise, a perfect compliment of features.

What you'd expect from ART

Just a fantastic and quiet headphone amp that works just like every other ART device-flawlessly.

Nice headphone amp

Feb 19, 2013

I picked this up to replace an older Samson SPhone. The ART is actually a very nice unit. I run 6 stereo mixes from my RME UFX into the Aux inputs on the rear and out to the room. Quiet with plenty of power, no problem running two sets of cans from each output if needed. The ART doesn't alter the sound of the UFX feeds, pretty much what goes in comes out. Having separate volume, bass and treble controls on each channel is a convenient feature. Pr... Show More

Nice Headphone Amplifier!

Jan 21, 2013

Sound quality seems excellent, build quality seems better than average for a piece of gear in this price range. This unit does exactly what I wanted to do, and the price point was excellent. The only reason for giving 4 out of 5 stars is because I can hear a 120hz hum when there is no source signal and I turn up the volume on the active headphone channel past about 50-60%. Now, this COULD be something in my particular signal chain, or a balanced ... Show More

HeadAmp6PRO HIGHLY Recommended

Feb 17, 2011

I use the HeadAmp6PRO to listen to high end headphones, like AKG K-702, Beyerdynamic DT-990, and Sennheiser HD595. I also have a discrete class A headphone amp, but two of the above headphones need more bass, in my opinion. The bass/treble control is great - very low noise - can play the 702's very loud and they are not easy to power. Highly Recommended for this purpose, or Pro Audio.

Good value

Feb 1, 2011

Great value - a lot of funtion for little money. I've purchased 2 of these units now for various projects and they work well. I had some problem with a unit but the manufacturers took care of the issue. Overall, it does the job well and saves a lot of headaches - and a few bucks...

great entry into IEMs for live sound

Jan 24, 2011

I already had one HeadAmp6 unit for my studio headphones. I've added 3 more units (total of 24 headsets) for 8 individual aux sends for personal monitoring. We use these to power wired headsets for a speaker-free stage monitoring system. Functions like the Aviom systems at a significantly lower investment. The HeadAmp6 is clean with options to cascade units, add more me inputs for each output, and LED level displays. Comparable to other manufacturer headphone amp solutions, the Art HeadAmp6 is sturdy, quality built pro-audio stage & studio equipment.

Great Solution for Headphone Amp

Dec 28, 2010

I bought this to replace an aging and worn out Behringer H4700. I hate Behringer products with a passion and would normally avoid anything they make, but the 4700 really did deliver. The sound was a bit brittle and the slight 60hz hum was annoying but it served me well for 5 years. When it finally died, I wanted something to replace it and the ART HeadAmpPro6 was the perfect solution. It has all the functionality of the Behringer, plus 2 addition... Show More
