AKG products rock and these headphones are no exception. They do an exceptional job when tracking and I've even used them to master the final product. When I'm not using them in the studio, I sometimes use them just to listen to music and relax. Very comfortable to wear and they don't fatigue your ears. They are light weight and adjustable so will fit on just about anyone. The clarity and frequency response across the entire audio spectrum, is simply outstanding. You can hear things in your tracks that you may find hard to hear thru your monitors, which allow you to clean up dirty tracks or boost frequencies. I would recommend these to anyone, whether it be a hobbyist just wanting a great pair of headphones to listen to music or to the professional studio engineer. You can't get this quality for the price either. I've owned headphones that cost nearly twice as much and these hold their own every step of the way. Be careful though, these sound so good that they can be very addictive and you may find yourself wearing them all the time! ... More

I have been a fan of AKG products for some time now, and trust me, after you buy these YOU WILL TOO!!! these headphones are great for recording, mixing, or just listening to music and jamming out! now they don't weigh much and the tightness on your head doesn't hurt one bit (after you put them on you probably wont even feel em!) they have an auto mute feature so when u take them off the music stop! great for if you play loud music and u need to stop to talk to someone or if you just don't wanna hear background noise! they also have that great AKG auto-adjust headband (witch works great for people even like me who have huge heads!) the only thing i could ask to be different is the fact that to add the different ear pads it's a little bit of a hassle (it took me about 5-10mins!) maybe it's just me (I've never done it before) but i felt like it was abnormally hard! but, i guess that's the price for a good seal , so i don't mind that much! so in conclusion, If you are looking for a god pair of headphones to record in your studio, mix and master a track, or just jam out to some tunes and relax, these are the headphones for you!!! ... these things are incredible! out of the box you get the headphones(obviously) 2 chords straight or curled, and two sets of ear pads, velvet or leather. these are the most comfortable head phones i have ever worn.. and the sound is incredible. alot of reviews complain about how the bass is weak on these, i they are wrong. it has just the right amount of bass. not to much, not to little. these head phones will give you the true sound of what you are listening to, unlike some other head phones. if all your looking for in a closed back head phone is bass, then buy beats or something that will overwhelm you with bass. these head phones are comparable, give you the true sound of your listening to. ... WOW!!! I have had these head-phones for almost a year now and have not failed me yet. They have amazing sound quality, and since they are over-ears, it blocks out any noise. These are great for recording or even just jamming out! These headphones are definitely one of my best buys here at guitar center. I would recommend them to anyone of my friends. I hope you are more than satisfied with them too!

the sound is accurate, clear and true to life. the experience is quite honestly boring. Some things play better on these than other. Not for those that enjoy bass reproduction or enhancement in their music. They are very comfortable. Even with eyeglasses. They are light and if the music stops you may forget you have them on. A little costly for made in China. But everything is. M I C A more balanced headphone can be had for less that provides a listening experience that is less sedate. I imagine that if someone had a use to hear music from whatever source unbiased and pure these would be the device of choice. I do enjoy the headphones. I use the pair with an old cd player that has built in headphone amp. I do like them. I would have a difficult time recommending them to someone without a long explanation. ... More

If you need a sealed headphone that you can wear indefinitely, this is as good as it gets for the money. The headband, big earcups, and light weight make it easy to wear. The sound is clear and detailed but relaxed, so it's endlessly listenable. One downside: the same sonic character that makes it so listenable also slightly saps the excitement. While you can get some of it back with some EQing, there are better options if a lively and/or hard-hitting sound is your main priority. I listen to a lot of hard-hitting electronic music, so I often prefer my Audio Technica ATH-M50x for shorter listening sessions. But for just sitting somewhere indefinitely, listening to a wide variety of audio, the AKG K271 MkII is my pick hands-down. ... More

I use the K271 headphones for mixing my audio projects. The sound is great! They are pretty comfortable, though I have to take them off periodically to give my ears a break. Over long periods of time they start to be of slight discomfort, but that can be said about any headphones. The sound quality is great. The low end may be a little lean, as others have stated. But the response is pretty flat and the sound is awesome. One plus is that the headphones turn off as soon as you remove them from your head. The way the headband is designed allows a switch to be activated when putting them on, which allows the audio to pass through. Pretty cool feature. I'm digging these headphones. ... More

Ive travelled with headphones everywhere...abused them...and they just work. If they were lost/stolen/destroyed today id order another paid tomorrow. Sound quality is subjective i suppose depending on your needs...I use them when video editing on the road, and monitoring audio on video shoots...I think they sound really good...better than the Sony 7506 that are a staple in my field. Isolation is really good too...Not the best ive experienced but close. ... More

With that in mind I would not use these to mix, or check my mix on!!! The auto on/off function is great. They don't have much bleed, so no nasty metronome in the tracks!!! Combfortable for long hours and have a good bass respond for bass tracking is always good!! GET EM!!!

There is a reason why you see AKG headphones so often in the industry. They sound amazing. I've owned several pairs of the 240s and love the way they make it sound like you're in a room instead of wearing headphones. They are very comfortable and don't give me headaches like other headphones. The 240s are open back so you can hear your voice when you sing, while the 270s are closed. I use these for applications where I want to block out the sound around me. Well worth the money if you have it.

I purchased a set of these for my home studio after using them in a variety of settings in the studio where I work. As others have mentioned, the bass response can be a bit deceiving. But I wouldn't recommend mixing with headphones alone anyhow. For composing/writing in the middle of the night or tracking live instruments, these headphones are perfect. (And much cheaper here, I might add).

I use these to listen to music and play guitar. They sound great, really clean sound representation. Very solid in quality. My single complaint is a very small one; the plastic makes a popping sound when you move around, and because they're closed headphones, its pretty loud. The nice thing is that it stops doing it after they've been on your head for awhile, hopefully it will break in after a few more months. They are very comfy too. I have pretty big ears and most headphones kill ny ears, but not these ones. Great cans.

I've compared these headphones side-by-side with the Pioneer HDJ-1000s (the really shiny ones) and by far, these can deliver more bass, better his and mids and just a thicker tone than what Pioneer can ever imagine. Very confortable to wear, adjusts to many head sizes, and I can see these being my top-arsenal pic for the future to come.

Good quality headphones matter. With cheap headphones you won't hear what your music really sounds like and you very well might make adjustments that don't need to be made. I work from my apartment so I need to hear what is happening, but I have to use headphones to do this. These allow me to work through amazing sound while still keeping the peace with my neighbors.

The K271 MKII are a nice set of headphones, but they are not the successor to the K270 that I thought they would be. Single speaker in each can, as opposed to the K270. They are made in China, but the build quality seems good. I use these for recording at home, giving them to musicians to track vocals. So far 'clients are happy'
