Fairly lightweight, I plan to use them on an airplane since they are closed back. They fold, but are not as small as other foldable headphones, probably due to the closed back design. First impression of the audio was quite bass heavy, much bassier than my new AKG K240 full sized studio headphones. I'd say the Sony was muddy and somewhat dull. Listening to my iPod, I needed to change the pod's EQ to brighten the treble, which helped give the Sony a much airier sense of space and sound. Quite pleased with the sound now. Treble is about right now.I read online someone thought they got a little warm to wear, I can see that if you wear them long enoughthe closed back circular ear pads will do that, since they sit directly on your ears, versus a larger pair of headphones (like the K240s) which have ear pads that are larger and therefore sit around most of your ear.Comfort is ok so far, but I have not worn them for more than about 40 minutes. Construction: plasticky, not exactly meant for the long haul, but whaddya want for the money? The Sony is inexpensive.Comparing headphones isn't easy. The Sonys were far more efficient (played louder) than my foldable AKG K420s (not the same as my full sized K240s), so I had to change volume levels when comparing, so my 'test' is somewhat faulty. The 420s are brighter, less bassy, you might call them more clear. They're open air phones, versus the Sony closed backs. The Sony was also somewhat smoother and fuller. Then I compared again, to my full sized AKGK240s, the K240s were clearly the best of the three. Full, clear, much tighter and accurate bass and the soundfield seemed larger, too. These 240s are usually around $ but I bought them recently for $ new.For the money, the Sonys are pretty good, especially if you can change your device's EQ. If not, you might find them less than listenable. A good buy for the bucks, especially if you want to keep some external noise out. No, there is no built in noise reduction. ... More

Bought a dozen of these in white and a dozen in black and found these to be great sounding - clean highs for voice intelligibility, good bass for music and voice. So far, after about two months of use, NONE have broken, NONE were DOA (all purchased from B&HPhoto at the same time). These are used in a very busy TV Newsroom where they get used about 16 hours a day by Producers, Anchors and Reporters who need to track stories to write to. A few of them are used 24/7 and are holding up very well. No sign of fabric/cushion/frame wear. I've also had to buy extension cords for some of them as the cord is only 4' long. I chose to buy these for the folks that need to use these every day and it has thus far proven to be a wise choice. Everyone LOVES them, so I take their word for it. We used to buy really cheap headphones, like those under $10, and it was simply wasted money as those broke quickly and sounded tinny and were uncomfortable. These are On Ear headphones. I debated over this style or completely Over the ear headphones and people prefer these as they have ample volume and DO NOT mess up your hair! Well, that's important when you need to go from a desk to in front of a camera with little time for grooming. The only con I can think of is I would prefer to see these in single wire versus left and right wire. Another great feature is the red band that comes with either the white or black style, which is to indicate Right channel. ... More

I purchased these to replace Sony earbuds I purchased a while back used to transcribe conference calls from a Sony digital recording. Sound quality about the same - can't really hear any difference between the headphones and the earbuds - which is okay. The part I was looking forward to was a bit of comfort from headphones that rest against the ear versus ear buds that go inside the ear. Sadly - the headphones have a tendency to pinch the upper ear against the head which limits the amount of time I can wear them. The fact that they fold into a streamline area is nice, but not nice enough to rate another star. I would pay additional money to have a little padding on the top of the headband and a little more adjustability so that the headphones didn't pinch the top of my ears against my head. ... More

I recently noticed my Sony MDR ZX-100's which have served me quite well over the years, were starting show signs of wear on the ear cups. That's when I decided it was time for new headphones. Shopping B&H online,I spotted the Sony MDR-ZX110 Headphones. Boy,did I ever make the right choice! They are as comfortable as the old ones & the sound is crisp & clear with a warm, rich bass response you might expect from higher priced models. These are great headphones for the money. I certainly recommend them.

I'm not an audiophile nor an audio professional, I bought this headphones to listen music in media players/smartphones. The sound quality is great, good channel separation, and good bass/mids/highs reproduction. They feel great in the ears and they seem to have a good build quality but it is too soon to say if they are durable. In general I recommend this product.

I was quite surprised at how good these sound for music and voice. Other pluses: the on-ear cushions seal pretty well and the cord is sturdy. The earcups do fold which may or my not be a useful thing. The minuses are minimal: there's just a mini headphone jack; no standard phone jack is included. And they seem a bit delicate, so I wouldn't go flinging them around. Those are minor things and I couldn't be more pleased with these. ... More

The headphones are pretty solid for $. The ear cushions are comfortable and can be worn for a long time (unlike JVC's). Since these headphones come from Sony, I did expect the audio quality to be a bit better. I can hear my audio crisp, but at tines the volume feels low and I can hear outside noise--even if the volume on my phone and laptop are blasted. But they aren't studio headphones, so now I know that will be the next step for me.

I regularly use the MDR-7506 headphones for all my production work. I needed headphones that were fairly inexpensive to include in a variety of camera packages, where critical listening wasn't necessarily important. These headphones are VERY inexpensive, and are surprisingly good. I put them in several camera packages for camera ops to use to monitor audio, and they are perfect for that application.

Fairly comfortable, foldable headphones that sounded a bit muffled out of the box. I removed the felt covering the drivers to make them listenable. Hard to drive loud using a smart phone but sounds fairly good with the felt removed. Even using a stereo amplifier you must crank it up to get good volume out of them. Bass good, goes low. Mids are OK, clean. Highs good, not too harsh or essy. Overall a decent pair that's cheap, no frills. Overall rating of 6.5/10

Nice to have these; love the stereo; don't have to keep hearing aids in to be able to use these, bare-eared, at a 'safe' volume. Did have some concern about frequent folding and unfolding of the ear 'muffs.' Wondered if this feature would wear out too soon. So, have left the pads open in the down position. Excellent sound quality with fine stereo separation. Light weight; fits my smallish head comfortably.

With 50 ear-pad covers, Illinois 10.5% tax, and shipping it was still under $40. It matched our battered 2010 set. Tired of earbuds on my laptop, I ordered and got a set for myself.
