Induro CLT104 Classic Series 1 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod

Versatile Tripod
For the past 3 years I have used and traveled with the Induro CT314, which I absolutely love; however, its size requires that I removed the head and disassemble the legs to fit it in a carry on bag and its weight (about 7-8lbs with head) precludes it from bringing it along on hikes over 3 or so miles. This brings me to the CLT104, I wanted a quality tripod that I can pack in a carry on bag without extensive disassembly, easily manage on longer hi... Show More

A really fantastic tripod
I spent a good week or two debating between the CLT403, CLT303L and the CLT404L. I did as research as I could and while there isnt tons of reviews out there for these tripods, what I did learn was they have a great reputation. I eventually went for the CLT404L. Im 61 tall and really didnt want to use a centre column to achieve eye level shooting, so this eventually made this choice an easier one. This tripod is very tall, so thats excellent. ... Show More

Good Value with Some Minor Issues
This renders my previous review on the product redundant. The GOOD - It is strong and stable with useful reach. Owned for 18 months, it has done around 60 shoots and 200 hours. The ISSUES - The center column needs quite a bit of force to really lock it off, I think there is too much too much tolerance in the channel. I also found that extending the upper legs from the fully retracted position often took a tug which is annoying and I have realized... Show More

Equals the best
This is really two reviews in one. The Induro CLT303 tripod and the Induro PHQ3 5-Way Panhead. In a single phrase, Both are Excellent. The tripod is very sturdy with a high load capcity. Although the tripod is a lightweight carbon fiber type it's probably about as heavy as you would want to go for use in the great outdoors. But I chose this because of the need to use it for multiple purposes. The tripod has great features. I'm 5'11 and the height... Show More

Surprising quality at half the price of the name brand!
After purchasing and returning a somewhat more expensive tripod by another manufacturer, I was resigned to having to pony up for a Gitzo. The tripod I returned had received excellent reviews, but I found it to have too much flex in the legs, and its twist locks twisted but did not really lock. Twice, the tripod started to collapse of its own accord. So I went to the B&H Superstore to examine the various Gitzos, even though I was reluctant to spen... Show More

Over all pretty good with one minor problem.
I was considering to buy a GitzoGT1545T Traveler. But when I went to B&H to give a try, I found out the demo Gitzo tripod in the store was broken. The last section of one leg fell off. That turned me off. I don't think that's a $700 tripod should look like. So I went for my second choice which is this Induro CLT104. Over all I'm satisfied with this tripod. The pros in other reviews are all true. I once put a 10 pound bag on the hook plus 5 pound ... Show More

I absolutely love this tripod!! (Induro CLT 403)
Originally I ordered the CLT 404L. Upon arrival, I immediately knew that it was way too much tripod for my needs. Very durable, high quality, super tall...but just too heavy and too much tripod. I returned the 404L and ordered the 403. A much better choice for my needs. Seeing that I'm 6' 1, I was a little hesitant to order this model thinking that it might be too short for me. This model is basically the same as the 404L with one less leg sectio... Show More

I'm pretty sure I'm going to love this tripod.
At first I ordered the CLT 404L. When that tripod showed up the other night, I immediately knew that it was going to be way too much tripod for my needs. A little heavy and quite tall. So I sent that tripod back to B&H, ordered this CLT 403 and received it tonight. Granted I have yet to use this tripod...but I can tell that it's the one for me. Have one less set of legs makes a world of difference. This tripod has extremely heavy duty legs and pa... Show More

Do not buy: cheap inside plastic parts, falls apart
I have been using this tripod for the last 6 months, for outside shoots primarily (landscape/cityscapes); while I shoot daily, this was not the only tripod I have been using (1 of 3), so I'd say it was moderate use overall. This morning during an outside shoot when I was readying the tripod and extending the legs, one of the legs came off, apparently the cheap inside plastic parts broke. See attached photo. Those inside pieces that keep the leg f... Show More

Not up to Induro standards
Im a landscape and fine art photographer using medium format gear. Sadly the CLT303 is no where near as nice as the CT313 that it replaces, every aspect of it looks like the accounting department got control of product design and features. It is shorter than the CT313 by a good margin, the case is not as nice in construction as its predecessor, the leg padding is thin and hard compared to the CT313 and CT213, the CLT303 does not damp vibrations a... Solid tripod, damaged carrying bag
The Induro CLT404L is a very solid tripod. It is bigger than what I expected. It weights 5.8 lbs. The legs extend smoothly. It comes with two center columns - a short one and a long one. It also comes with magnesium alloy spiders. You can add weights to the center column. It supports my Canon 5D mark iv with a Sigma 150-600 lens without any problem. The carrying bag is padded. However, the one that I received has two small cuts - one on each side... Show More

A solid piece of equipment
I am 6'2 and was looking for a quality tripod that I could use in the field without having to constantly stoop down to look through my viewfinder but was still light enough to carry in my pack. This tripod is the perfect height with the legs completely extended and is virtually identical in weight to my older aluminum tripod that is over a foot shorter than the Induro CLT303L. At this point I have only had it out a couple of times but I can say t... Show More

Everything I Expected!!
I was ready to move up and purchase a better grade tripod, but couldnt pull the trigger on a tripod costing $1000 or more. After doing some research I chose the Induro CLT404L and couldnt be more satisfied. At 61 I need a tall tripod, and with the legs fully extended my camera is at eye level, with no need to extend the center post. And it comes with a short center post for low shots, a set of spikes for the feet and a tool kit, plus a study bag,... Show More

The mother lode of tripods
I was in need of a solid sturdy tripod for a 5Diii and the 150-600 mm S, I had others (very solid) from another brand but aluminum; I searched Feisol, Gitzo but bottom line, they did not fill my height requirements. I'm just a shade under 6'4. Wala, the Induro promotion offered a free PHD3 pan head; a no brainer decision. Over the years, I purchased at least 10 tripods, (three which I still own), but spent well over the listed price for this baby... Show More

Great tripod.
I was flip flopping between the Gitzo and the Induro, went with the induro as it was a lot cheaper, has offices in NY state, close to NYC, and it extended to a taller height than the Gitzo I was looking at. I used it on a 3 day job, and was really happy with it. Its super fast to extend and retract legs, the grips are big and easy to turn. The one thing I would like to see an improvement on is the center column, the gitzo doesn't have anything be... Show More

Just what I was looking for
I needed a carbon tripod to use for wildlife photography that could take a big camera+lens load without breaking the bank. My preference was one w/o a center column but there were features about the CLT404 that I preferred over my other options such as the very easy to adjust leg angles, the twist locks, and the padding on the legs so my hands don't freeze in cold weather. The solution for me was simply to use the short center column and wha-laa!... Show More

Great solid, lightweight tripod for field trips
I primarily take wildlife and landscape images. For wildlife I have a 150-600 mm lens that needs good support. This tripod was an excellent selection. It is very sturdy and still lightweight enough to take on field trips. The legs are independently adjustable and the tripod came with a short center column in addition to the standard column. This allows me to get very low to the ground when taking images of wildlife. I'm only 68 tall so I thought ... Show More

Lightweight, Solid, Versatile, and Easy To Use
I love Induro products. They are well built, lightweight, versatile, and reasonably priced (for a carbon tripod, of course). This is the third Induro tripod I have purchased. I have a 3 series (that is Rock Solid) which I use in the studio, as well as a monopod. I purchased this CLT104 as a lightweight, travel tripod. The Induro BHL 1S ball head I paired with this tripod works awesomely well also... Induro products have what I like to refer to as a lot of bang for the buck. You should have no reservations about purchasing an Induro tripod for yourself! Highly recommended!

Great value for your money
Light and sturdy. Only thing I would say is if you get this tripod then be sure to first tighten all the bottom rubber boots and weight hook. I was shooting in death valley in Badwater and was luck to find my weight hook for the center column. All in all its a great product but please tighten all the removable parts on the tripod before taking it out on the field. Did multiple long exposure with little wind and it was absolutely rock solid. I have added couple of long exposure images that were taken this past weekend.

Quality tripod
I did not consider a serious upgrade for my tripod until I recently got a Nikon 600mm len over 10 lbs. started to search and got this tripod. We'll design and built with light carbon fiber material. Need to get assessories head (I got wimberley wh-200, others brands also available) to mount the heavy len. The tripod is very stable and secure with hook to allow u hang some accessories. If u register, the warranty double to 10 year to give u further assurance. No regret and will recommend it

I love love love this Tripod!
This is a sturdy tripod that has a decent load capacity yet light enough for hiking and traveling. I have already used it at the beach and yes got a little sand in the legs, but I was able to clean them out with no problems and it's good as new. I upgraded from an Oben which I was never really happy with, I wish I would of bought this one first! The short and sweet is, that this is a good quality tripod that you won't be sorry you purchased!

Sensibility!
Love this Tripod. I use it with a RRS B-55. Went back and forth back and forth between Gitzo and Induro to the obvious conclusion that Induro has made their point loud and clear. Of course it's the price point that made the difference. When you look at the build differences, or similarities between Induro and others, its just too obvious. Light, strong, easy to use. I can go all day in the field with this setup.

Induro CLT303
Super tripod for use in the field I hardly notice I even have it at times it is so light. I recently had it out on an adventure in the mountians in Pennsylvania during several heavy rain storms, the legs held their position nicely which surprised me as tripods I have used in the past under similar conditions were useless, I am quite happy with this and looking forward to more adventures with this tripod.

So far, so great! Good value.
I have just finished my first major shoot using the Induro CLT303 Tripod. Big Island of Hawaii, sunrise over Mauna Kea. Light to moderate wind. 5000 ft elevation (40 F ish, cold this time of year). Heavy rig: Nikon D4, Nikon 400 mm 2.8, Wimberely WH 200 Gimbal head. Tripod was super stable, easy and fast adjustments, easy to read the level, shots turned out great.
