Ilford GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Gloss Paper (11 x 17, 25 Sheets)

ALMOST Identical to Gold Fibre Silk
Ilford's Prestige Gold Fibre Silk has been my go-to paper for semi-gloss prints for years now -- my tests showed it has an outstanding tonal range for b/w (mostly what I do) but also is great for color -- if I had one paper to use, it would be GFS. When Gold Mono Silk was released, I tried it, excited, but found that it was too glossy for my taste, and a little too fragile, more subject to curling. I stuck with GFS, even for black and white and h... Show More

Galerie is outstandoing
I have used Galerie photographic paper for over 40 years printing and processing in the darkroom. Recently I have been photographically changing over to digital. I have used many inkjet printing paper for many sources such as Canon, Finestra and others. Since I have had so much experience with Ilford, and Galerie, over the years I decided to give Galerie inkjet paper a try. I was looking for a paper with a slightly warm tone and Galerie is perfect. Images are striking with almost a three-dimensional effect. I really like it!

Great new paper and prints really well
I have just tried my first box of this baryta paper, and printed the whole box on a current portrait sitting. It could quite easily become my favorite paper. All cotton heavy base with no brighteners and a semiglossy surface that really does a good job of hiding bronzing and gloss differential. My previous favorites are Ilford's 'silk' baryta and Han's Photo Silk Baryta.

My Favorite Paper for Years! Box has Changed
I've tried so many other papers, but keep coming back for this. I've worked with Epson and Canon Printers. This paper has the weight, finish even the SMELL of Kodak Kodabromide F Doubleweight (Ilford had a version also) darkroom paper. I see they changed the box, and offer it it a gloss finish. I hope the box is all that's changed, and it comes into stock again soon.

Gorgeous results!
I absolutely love the results from my Canon Pro-100. Colors are vibrant, accurate, with deep blacks. The feel of this paper is just okay though. The surface is a tad delicate, but I find it a tad more robust than the Silk version. I have a slight preference for Canson Baryta Prestige, but this is a fine stand-in.

Quality Paper
The 8.5x11 Fibre Silk provides me with a paper which holds strong color and provides good detail for my initial work print. Then I proceed to a larger format 17x22. The only draw back right now is the 25 sheet package is the only one available. I normally use the 50 sheet packages.

One of my favorite baryta papers
I normally use Hahn Photo Silk Baryta, but Ilford's version is just as good. I haven't used the 4x6 size, but HAVE used letter, 12x19, and 15x22. It is a fine paper, and has a mild and rather fine semi-glossy surface. Just what I like.

I love this paper
I have a exhibition coming soon and have been showcasing my images on Gold Fibre Silk to critical reviewers and I must say that the paper shows extremely well. It has nice weight and reproduces black and white really well.

Fabulous paper
For many years I used Ilford fiber base Galerie F-surface graded paper in the darkroom. I am now happily printing on something very much like it again with my Canon Pro 10 printer. Perfect.

Great paper for portraits
This is my absolute favorite paper for printing portraits (Epson 4900). The skin tones are better and truer (if that's a word) than with any other paper I use.
