Gitzo GT0545T Series 0 Traveler Carbon Fiber Tripod with Center Ball Head

Great Traveler
I own the Gitzo Moutaineer and was looking for something just a bit easier to get around with when I travel and this is exactly what I needed. It's light, sturdy and easy to pack in or outside of my pack. Wish it was a bit taller, but I knew that going in and can't ding it for that. The only minor nit I have is that the feet could be a bit sturdier, but they get the job done and work fine in 99% of the situations I've needed them in.

Quite heavy for mountain hiking
The tripod appears well made and is very sturdy, the locking head being secure and tight. The length is good but at over 2 pounds it is really quite heavy for mountain hiking. I have had a Gitzo GT0531 for years (now discontinued) which is much lighter and better for hiking. I believed I should have just stayed with it but I wanted something shorter. I did not realize the weight difference could likely turn me into an athlete.

The best tripod and the best price offer you can find now.
The best tripod and the best price offer you can find now. The weight and size of the tripod when folded and unfolded are perfectly balanced. A tripod with a great head, priced at $ 899, if its a connection with manfrotto, then the price is $ 799 - I love it! No hook, if it is very necessary, will have to buy separately for $ 30 Personally, I would prefer, in addition, metal sharp tips on the legs.

Camera Support perfection
I have only used this tripod indoors, but really enjoy the quality and performance. I shoot with a Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 16-80mm 2.8 lens. Tripod is rock solid. Easy and quick setup with twist lock legs. Head is smooth and solid. Should have come with a tripod bag and a way to secure tripod wrenches to tripod legs, but worth the investment. Don't expect to buy another tripod.

Some of the legs detach completely when expanding
So disappointed. Bought this to take on my travels and some of the legs simply detach completely when expanding them. have to eyeball them to try to keep them the same length. Lost a piece of a leg during my travels as I didnt realize it simply fell off on my way home. I paid to much money for this. Maybe I was unlucky and got a defective one. I need this thing to be replaced.

Missing part D104284
Missing part D104284. It is a sleeve that stop the leg fron comming detached from the bigger tube. Cannot return the tripod as it would be more expensive to return, it as it needs to be insured and priority mail, than buying the sleeve. I am dissapointed. Other than that it is rock solid. If it was complet I would have give it five stars. Now I just need to find the sleeve.

Pretty Great Overall Ball head not quite what I expected.
Given that I do a lot of landscape, hauling around my aluminum tripod just became impractical. Series 1 Traveler tripod is exactly what I needed; light, sturdy, and top quality construction. My only gripe is that the ball head tends to jerk when moving it around, making slight micro-adjustments very challenging. Overall, though, I am very happy with my purchase.

I bought this to bring on my travels but it fell apart
I do love the head and how light it is but unfortunately some of the legs totally detached from the rest of the tripod while expanding them and on my last use, I lost part of one of the lower legs, it simply fell off from the rest of the tripod and I did not realized it until I got home. NOt happy as this was an extremely expensive tripod for my budget.

Gitzo Travler-BFF-I won't leave home without it.
I'm a semi-retired Meeting&Event photographer and I'll never have to leave my tripod at home because of weight or size. Genius design folds the head into it's self. Shooting speakers with my D4s/70/200 from the back of the room, this tripod is so stable solid and the swings and tilts are liquid smooth. I love fine craftsmanship and this Gtizo is sweet.

JUST BUY IT! It doesn't weigh anything.
I was so sceptical at first buying a Gitzo tripod simply because of the cost. Let me be the first to tell you that you pay for what you get. This tripod is absolutely worth every single penny and will probably outlast me. I know everyone is on a budget, but you have to find a way to get enough money to get one of these. Truly an unbelievable product.

Great But No Ballast Hook
This tripod is as good as most of the reviews say, but the one thing that I find puzzling is the lack of a hook on the bottom of the center pole for hanging additional weight. The fact that this tripod is so light simply begs for more ballast in windy conditions, but adding weight needs a Jerry-rigged workaround. So simple to add a hook!

No decent tripod bag?
The tripod seems good so far, but geez, my Benro Travel Angel came with a much nicer bag (included in the price) than this $1K tripod. I know we are talking about apples and oranges, but come on Gitzo. Just because RRS charges $$$ for a bag, can't you do better? Luckily, the new Gitzo tripod fits nicely inside the Benro bag.

Best Travel Tripod Made!!!
The Glitzo GT1555T Series One Carbon Fiber Tripod is particularly well made as well as small and light. I was able to mount a full frame Nikon SLR with a 400mm lens with no problem. Very stable and beautiful. It is pricey but you get what you paid for with in this case. Likely the last tripod I will ever need for travel.

Lives up to its billing!
Great tripod that is extremely well built, compact and travels well. Used with a Nikon D850 and medium range telephoto to shoot fireworks event in Tokyo. Tripod was rock solid and I got great photos without shake. Expensive, but definitely worth it. Also, once locked, the center ball head stays in place without slippage.

Feel robbed...
The tripod is sturdy and ball head is great.. legs no longer lock easy.. the rubber around lock wheels come lose and can not tighten legs.. I have to remove rubber and tighten this moves camera after taking 1st shot. One side sinks in ... just upset with this because this tripod is very expensive!!

I would buy this product again but hopefully I wont have to!
It's an essential tool for my travel photography because it can hold weight and it's small. Holds a medium format DSLR and there isn't a lot of camera shake on longer exposures with some wind. It is beautifully designed. It is light. It is expensive. It will hopefully last me for years though.

Great tripod
Its really well made, lightweight and sturdy. Id be hard press to find a flaw, except --- the quick release plate screw is hard to use. The screw notch is too small for the nail or coin, and the buckle is stuck at flush with the plate. Cant get it the buckle out unless I have a screwdriver...

Perfect for travelling!
AH-MAZING! Super smooth and lightweight but rock solid sturdy! I had a large regular tripod that was a behemoth to carry around and also had a little lightweight travel one that was quite flimsy. Finally bit the bullet to pay for quality - this will be my one and only from now on!

Great travel tripod, but good lord the price!
I love this tripod. . . I like to use a tripod when ever possible, and this makes it much more of an option when traveling. . . very light, well built, and easy to use. Great for travel work. Very versatile. The only issue is the price!!! Good Lord, but you get what you pay for.

So Far So Good!
So far I'm loving the quality and minimal weight this Gitzo offers! Of course, time will tell! The most impressive aspect is how sturdy this tripod is! Solid as a rock. I've used larger tripods that have far more movement. Not sure how the wind will play with it yet!

Great traveling tripod
This tripod is a huge improvement over the older series 1s. It is just as light, but much sturdier, and the included ball head is much better than the old one. Highly recommended for travel, including for use with DSLR and decent-sized lenses such as a 70-200 zoom.

Perfect for travel
This tripod is the perfect size for travel, as it folds down to 14 inches, including the ball head. This makes it easy to fit into carry-on luggage or a small backpack. There are other tripods this size, but none that are as well made and as sturdy as this tripod.

Only one use, one of the leg segments fell apart
Very disappointed with such a high-priced, supposed to be high quality tripod. Just one use, one of the leg segments is broken, and small parts/residuals fell from the leg. It seemed that the product is far from the quality ratings I have been reading.

Quality kit
Lightweight, precision tripod and head. Can't fault it. I use it for night photography with a Canon 5D and heavy L lenses. The Gitzo does not let me down. Perfect for shooting on the go. The strap that comes with works fine but is fiddly.
