LaCie 2TB Rugged USB 3.0 Type-C External Hard Drive
IDK, it's a standard HD?
Had to re-format the disc because Macbook Pro (2019) wouldn't write to it out of the box. Once I did that it backed up my machine fine. Pros: rugged and light Cons: Mac users will need to re-format the thing using Disk Utility to use it.

Still rugged
I know there are better faster options out there, but as a drive to store footage that was already edited I cannot complain. Does its job really well and is super reliable.

So Far So Good
I find these drives to be reliable and very portable. Been using them for years. This one worked out of the box and I anticipate no problems...of course, with an HD, time will tell!

Love it!
Ive used the Ruggard series for a couple of years, rather than the desktop LaCie EHDs. Like their size and portability, as well as their more rugged build.

USB-C connection sucks
I have two of these units, each of which came with their own /USB-C connectors I use with my Mac. The units cannot make a secure connection, if you look at the connection the wrong way, it disconnects. When trying to reconnect it takes extremely long usually up to 20 minutes. Other devices I have no issues with....until Lacie fixes the issue, I definitely would not recommend these units. When they are connected, one unit works OK, the other is extremely slow. Lacie has not been able to determine why one is so slow, all home tests show nothing is wrong with it.

WD is good, this is at least as good
Orange makes it easy to find in a jungle of gear, orange hard drive, orange cable. Works perfectly with OS X. TrNsfers fast and completely without issues. Large 5TB size is the standard now Must get!!

Great travel vault
LaCie offers a durable option for the traveling professional. This drive compliments my portable SSDs perfectly to back up all of my video and still photo files. A generous 5TB of space and USB Type-C connectivity decrease my back-up time freeing me up to stay in the field.

Excellent drive
The lacie 5TB rugged drive is one of the best drives I have ever owned. Its fast to transfer files. You can even feel the quality just by holding it. The software that comes with it is excellent for doing automatic backup. You dont need to think about it, be assured that its done. I would recommend it to anyone looking for that workhorse.

The drive failed after 4 months
The drive suddenly failed and stopped working completely while I was using it. Ive never dropped it and Ive only had it for 4 about 4 months. I was in the middle of a project so I decided to open it and try to fix it myself, which ruined the warranty, and I wasnt surprised about the incident once I found out its actually just a Seagate drive inside a LaCie case.... Goodbye LaCie.

Working great so far
Have only had for a couple of weeks. Is working great and was easy setup. Is very rugged but hope I dont have to put it to test. Very satisfied with this product.

So far, so good
After using two other brands of hard drives, both of which crashed and I spent over 700 each to get them restored, I decided to try a new brand. This came highly recommended by B&H staff, so because of that, and the small size, Im giving it a try. So far...no issues!

Drive Keeps Dismounting Incorrectly
So I have bought two of these drives, and they were a few months apart. This most recent one came with a different cord and it dismounts the drive all the time. Whether I am touching it or not. Like it will be sitting there and I will be working on a file not moving the my computer or the drive and it will dismount and my work wont be saved. The image I uploaded has the newer cord on the left that doesnt fit into the port at all and dismounts randomly, and the cord on the right is the cord I got when I ordered this drive a few months ago and that one works just fine with both drives.

Ejects by accident easily
Ejects via USB-C too easily... I get the impression that Im going to lose my data via corruption because of this.

Works Just Fine
No problems at all on a new late 2018 MacBook Air. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is I have two 320 gig LaCie hard drives I cant get into anymore and I cant figure out how to fix that problem through LaCies website.

Works exactly as expected. No problems yet, and have been loving the form factor! Noticeably smaller than my 2TB Thunderbolt 2 drive. Build quality is great as always from LaCie. I have confidence in the security of my files even with my always going lifestyle.

These Are Great.
This is a quality hard drive for sure. I have no complaints. I use it to backup projects from my work SSD. Going to purchase two more soon. Can't afford a NAS at the moment. So portable drives it is.
