Induro GIT504L Grand Series 5 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod

I love the size and overall quality
The folded height is a little over 20" and fits in nicely onto my think tank street pro walker back pack. It's solid and legs are easy to adjust. I am very satisfied with this tripod and love it. This is my second Induro tripod and Indoor is a good quality tripod and good value for the money. And Thank you B&H for honoring the sale price. The sale ended after Saturday 6pm I believe. And I could not complete the order on Friday evening because the... Show More

Would give it 4.5 if I could
I've been using this tripod for a year with an APS-C mirrorless system and an RB67 mostly for studio still life and landscape / long exposures in the field, so this review is based on this use. Overall, its a very, very good tripod, with simple, reliable design, which brings no attention to itself in use. Not as tall as advertised, I measured mine at 52 3/8 with the swivel flat rubber feet, and 51 5/8 with the regular non swiveling rubber feet. ... Show More

Love it!
I've been on the fence for a long time and recently decided to take the jump from a Manfrotto Magfiber 055. I've always been very happy with the Manfrotto but when my ballhead became a little ragged I decide to dive in on a whole new setup. First off, in the past I'd found that the current tripod didn't have the height I wanted for various wildlife shooting without using a shaky center column, explaining the decision to go with this extremely sti... Robust Tripod
Down graded from 5 stars due to lack of response from customer service. This is a high quality robust tripod. I purchased the Induro GIT304L because I needed very stable tripod for my telephoto lenses as well as my other lenses. Stability was the main criteria; not weight or compactness. It is a large tripod. I like the large twist locks on the legs. Before selecting this tripod I searched the internet for tripod reviews and discovered that compr... Show More

Best Tripod Ever...
I'm a large format film photographer. I shoot 8x10 film. My camera weighs 20 pounds. It's also quite bulky which can make it a challenge to mount on a traditional tripod. I spent $2,000 on a wooden tripod that weighed 25 pounds. It was very sturdy, but not practical for hiking with. I started to look at carbon fiber tripods as they are very sturdy and lightweight. Many fellow photographers told me I "had to buy a Gitzo". After weeks of comparing... Show More

Fantastic Tripod
After owning a number of tripods, I finely decided to try one without a center section. What I found is I never really used the center section, other than to get additional height, and that I usually just adjust the legs or crouch. Over time I found that the center section can create more wobble than I realized and that I would often squeeze my fingers inside when folding it up and moving it around. Needless to say, I found center section somewha... Show More

Tall and stable with great features
This is my second Induro tripod. The first was a ct214 I carry for hiking/travel. I bought the 404XL primarily for architectural work and paired it with a Manfrotto 410 geared head. It makes for a very stable platform at the cost of a little portability. If one were shooting astro-landscapes or knew they needed the extra support in the field, it would be possible to hike with this (probably not comfortably though). Collapsed, it is small enough t... Induro GIT404L
Purchased this set of legs to support a Nikon D850 with various lenses and tripod heads. Have not yet had a chance to use it for nature/wildlife with a Nikon 200-500mm/F5.6 and a gimbal head but did shoot some cityscapes in Kansas City using a Sirui ball head and Nikon 24-120/F4. It is possible the lighter GIT304L would have been sufficient but I wanted to assure adequate support for most any circumstance I might be in, so I went with this one. I... Show More

Looking for a GREAT Tridod?
Look no more! I was foolish in believing I needed a Gitzo for my 500 F4. So i ordered a series 5 for over 0ne thousand USD. It was delivered and i started playing. The same day I requested an RMA from B&H. Sure it had all the Glitzo and well made, BUT....... It was heavy too tall for me and it was not as stable as i thought it would be. I bought it from BH used dept. so i had no choice in the height or weight. It was the 3section series five. One... Show More

Impressive
My first carbon fiber so not much to compare with but can't see how improvements would make it materially better. Have had a Manfrotto 458B so not alien to quality and practicality. Took advantage of the holiday sale getting it for less than half but I'd buy full price after experiencing it. Loving the modularity of the apex and ordered the 100mm bowl along with a Manfrotto short half ball adapter and making setup a breeze getting the legs perf... Show More

Very good tripod
This is my first higher-end tripod, and it has not disappointed. I have used it a fair amount over the past couple of months, and it has always provided a very sturdy platform from which to take pictures, I am using it with a Wimberly head and a 600mm lens. The number of bird photos that are keepers has increased due to this set up. I was concerned about the stability of the head mount based on some other reviews, but a design enhancement has app... Yes, yes, yes. Buy, and don't look back
After an attempt at purchasing a different brand (at a lower price), which I immediately returned because the quality 'sucked', I bit the bullet and purchased the GIT304. I have not had the opportunity to use this in the field, which is why I can't give this a 5 star rating, but testing at home with attaching my (heavy) Gimbal, extending the legs, etc., I couldn't be happier. I was not excited about the feet that are shown in the picture, since my ... Show More

Good tripod but has some flaws
Pros: well made, light weight for size, cheaper than RRS or Pro Media Gear Cons: made in China, 1 lb heavier than comparable RRS, twist locks are huge, have had problems with legs locking up. Specifically my 404xl which is in excellent condition and less than a year old, has problems with the legs locking or seizing if you don't break it down or extend it in a specific order. Sometimes the legs will rotate inside the tube above them and seize whe... Show More

Great value, outstanding customer service
I purchased this tripod due to my height. I was using a much more expensive, and shorter tripod. I saw this tripod on Birds as Art blog, the cost/height of L version looked attractive. While the tripod is larger, it has 4 leg segments and packs smaller than my much more expensive shorter tripod. The thicker legs/locks provide a very stable platform for my gimble/telephoto system. I notice a crack around one of the square holes in the tops of a le... Show More

Awesome
I have been a loyal user of Induro products for years. I was looking for another tripod and move away from center Colum. I looked at some other popular brands to try out but like this model of the induro. Having not been disappointed in the past I decided on the GIT404XL. Tried it this weekend with the 500mm V1. Loved it. Built like a tank but surprisingly light for the size. Legs are meaty and rock solid. Comes with a case that easily accomadate... Show More

One great tripod
I wanted a taller tripod so I wouldnt have to stoop down like I had been with my travel sized tripod. This one fit the bill perfectly. I can set it at the perfect height whether on flat level land or on a slope where lone or more legs are lower than my footing. I can also raise it to higher than my head and operate my camera via my cell phone. It is not inexpensive, but comes with 3 sets of feet and a soft case that has cushions that protect my b... I originally investigated this tripod because I didnt want to subject my Really Right Stuff model to any more salt waterand because it was recommended by a prominent landscape photographer. It is exactly what I was looking for ... stable platform, easy to manipulate, interchangeable feet ( especially like half-dome flat feet with ball socket to adjust to the ground and create a solid platform ), like the large platform for my gear ball head and it works the way I had envisioned for my 400mm f2.8 prime lens with 2x teleconverter. Nice tripod. Great value
Nice quality tripod with lots of bells and whistles. It's heavier duty than I expected - the legs are more substantial than my Gitzo Series 4 and the leg locks have a good feel. Comes with a nylon bag, a carry case, different feet, and tools... amazing. I prefer the top plate on the Gitzo, which is threaded and screws into the tripod. It seems safer than the Induro which has a sprung pin and a compression lever to keep it in place. Gotta remember... Show More

Just be aware before you buy
Overall I really like this tripod, but there were a couple of things that I wish I had realized immediately. 1. the built in bubble level is a dark blue green and is very difficult to see, so I ordered a Sunwayfoto LP-76 leveling plate with a much easier to read level. 2. The much larger base is wonderfulbut if you are not using a ball-head (I prefer a geared-head, and the lack of space between the base and the knobs meant a lot of knuckle busting.) you would be wise to order a tripod head riser. I ended up ordering the Acratech 1045 Tripod Head Riser. With those additions its great.

Induro Tripod
This tripod is fantastic! I made my purchase based on the basic information provided as there were no other reviews. That fact in itself is surprising, because this is one very well made piece of equipment! Thick legs, and the lack of a center column make it quite sturdy. The large leg locks are also a nice touch and being constructed of carbon fiber, it weighs half of what my previous tripod did. I did a lot of research before buying, and am quite happy with my decision! The legs were paired with a Kirk BH-1 Ball Head. Thanks B&H!
