Great Price Worth Freighting to NZ
Have bought loads of WD External HDs for extra storage, Time Machine backups etc. Work every time, no fuss plug n play, reformat for Mac your good to go. This was also an extra good buy @ US$59, was worth buying and freighting to New Zealand at that cost, a good saving compared to purchasing out here. Power supply no problems as they are multi voltage and another good reason to buy the same HD as can use NZ power supply or modify US supplied one.

I Should have Bought Two
I record quite a bit of UHD 360 video. This requires large amounts of storage capacity. I felt this was a great value for the money (about $20 per 1 tb.) How does the drive perform. No, problems so far and I would recommende to others. I would suggest that the discovery/utility software from the WD site to get things in order.

PlugnPlay says it all.
Only had it for a week so no long term observation here. I just hooked it up and started storing files. Truly, a no hassle undertaking. Ive got an earlier model Elements that I have been using for three or more years and not a problem. Got both on sale for great prices. Whats not to like.

Elements Eliminates Anxiety
I have two WD external hard-drives for photo archival. One WD crashed after 7 years. Ordered and received 3TB Elements in timely fashion. Readily recognized by Windows 7, rapidly loaded all images and I feel secure once again. Sufficient memory for a life-time and even appears attractive. WD means worry departs.

Basic USB Hard Drive
I own a 3 TB and a 4 TB version of these hard drives and use them with the WD backup program for our two major computers. This one is only several weeks old,but the the other one has been running for several months with no problems

Runs Quietly in the Background

plug and play
Plug and Play I take picture in raw each pic is about 20 mb, that burns up a lot of hard drive. The WD 3 TB Elements is perfect for picture storage. I did notice that when my computer goes to sleep the 3 TB goes to sleep.

If you do not need any security or other options for convenience, this is a good hardware. I bought this for storing pictures and no security needed. If you need security or other options, My Book series from WD is available with small extra investment.

Works great so far
I purchased this hard drive for my xbox one, because the 500 GB internal hard drive had filled up. It hasn't given me any problems thus far, but I can never be 100% confident in anything. It has so much space I believe it'll take years to fill.

Fast but noisy
Works great so far on my Mac as a Time Machine backup, but it's pretty loud, especially compared to the iMac. I may look at trying to move/hide it somehow. Also, it's pretty bulky--larger than the old Elements 3.5 drives.

Great price for a great product!
I bought this when it was on sale for $. Not bad for 3TB! Other retailers sell this for at least $ +. Easy installation and set-up. So far, it's worked fine. No complaints here!

Slow to wake up
It takes a long time for this drive to wake up if it goes into sleep mode. Sometimes it doesn't wake up and you have to disconnect it and reconnect it. Sometimes a reboot is necessary. This if my experience, so don't hate me for being honest here. I have 3 of these drives, bought at the same time, and they're both the same. I've had them for 4 years.

Excellent External Hard Drive, Great Capacity For The Price!
One of the things I like about this External Hard Drive is that it has a Power On/Off button in the beck (a little hard to find these days as most just connect to USB and when they are plugged in they are on). I also think it's great to store large files and get them off of your main C:\ Drive. Tons of space for many pictures and a lot of music too.
