The 2 WD Elements drives are used as the main drives holding my working files and the Time Machine backup. The USB 3.0 really makes a difference compared to USB 2.0 I don't know about reliability yet, but previous WD drives have performed very well for me. Pleased with my purchases.

Exactly what I needed
I bought this external hard drive to back up the pictures I take. I had a Western Digital drive that I never had any problems with, but I filled it up. Since I had such good luck with Western Digital in the past, I went with this drive. At 3TB, it should take me a while to fill this one. So far I think this product is great.

Great price for this size drive
Overall, great drive. I used it to house video files and photographs after filling up my 1TB drive. Video files play quickly and don't skip or stutter. Image files load easily. I have a small SSD drive as my primary drive so having this 3TB drive to store my media is a godsend.

Fast, Simple.
It does what it says on the box. It's nice and fast when plugged into a usb 3.0 port, and it's quiet enough to not be noticed on my desk. Works perfectly.

Great, High capacity Drive
Drive works well so far. No crashes. The USB 3 cable that came with it was poor quality and ejected the disk if moved even the slightest. After replacing that cable everything worked great. I use this for offsite backup of my main RAID array.

Solid and Affordable
Needed to set up for a Mac, but as a neophite I had to call WD support. They were patient, efficient and it was up and running very quickly. So far so good. A lot of storage for the money and seems very reliable.

Great External Hard Drive
This is the second external HHD I have bought from WD and it has been great. I use this External HHD for all my photo storage for my photography business. I have had a great experience with it and it has not failed me yet. My uses for this external HHD are simply, I use it just for the drive; I do not use any of the software it came with, so I cannot speak to that.

sturdy hard drives
I bought two of these hard drives so I could back up my computer then back up the back up. I have only had them a month so I cannot speak to longevity of the drives, but they have been working very well so far. The transfer rate is very adequate, and I haven't had any trouble so far. It's a great buy for the price! I got 2 for $

Happy so far
I've only had this 3TB drive for about 3 weeks, but so far so good. I formatted the drive to get rid of the proprietary software and I use my own backup software (Acronis True Image).

Really good deal

I'm very pleased with my new WD 3 TB Elements. This external hard disk drive has more than enough space for backing up my files. It is easy to use. The instructions for reformating for Mac OS were easy to follow. If I had a do-over, I might have gotten a smaller one. Should have measured size of files before choosing. But, better too much space than too little. Everything needed was in the box.

Simple setup, sleek low profile design, data transfer speeds are good. Exactly what b I anticipated and expected. Could use dimensions listed for product was smaller than the impression u get from photo alone.

Good so far.
Bought this to replace a bad 3tb Toshiba drive that failed after a year. Drive seems quiet and I've had good luck with WD products before. Wish this thing had a longer warranty, but some of my older WD drives are still kicking.

Great and resonably fast
The hard drive is great... resonably fast...plenty fast for a external back-up fot my photos. It just so bisare that it auto-powers when I turn the computer on.... I had to add a external swith to controle it..

Best Experience I Had
