The price is unbeatable. The delivery is fast and free. Item is brand-new with factory-wrapper unbroken. There is nothing more I can ask for. Highly recommended. I have quite a few of 3TB Elements External Hard Drive. Some of them are over a year. So far, I have no problems with any of them.

So Far, So Good !!
This will be my second time around with a Western digital My Book hard drive. Althouh my first was Years ago and was only 150 Gb. It was Huge back in the day. That one lasted roughly a year and although it died, it wasn't the hard Drive itself. It was something electrical with the board. I still use the H. D. itself as I type. Working Perfectly
After the first drive I ordered died in less that two weeks, I returned that drive and bought the 3TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive by WD. I have a Mac and the included USB 3.0 to 2.0 cable was perfect. Hooked it up, powered it on and reformatted it for the Mac. Partitioned it into a 1 and 2 TB and I'm using the 1TB for a Time Machine back up drive. The 2TB is being used for duplicate storage and a staging area for archiving data to DVD's. Best thing about it is that it's dead quiet. Barely can hear it running. Transfer speeds are fast and I'm getting spoiled by the 2TB of space.

fast and quick service. this hard drive will be use as a back up system for both my laptop & desktop computer. the 3TB has more space than i will need for all my file. the prices was much lower for this unit that i could anywhere with a brand name of high quality

Best Price I Could Find

Works Fine As PC Storage
Works as expected on PC. The only problem is compatibility. Some devices such as Blu Ray players cannot recognize this device. Check the owner's manual of your device before choosing the correct ext. HDD.

Great Hardware, But ...
The hardware quality of this drive seems to be excellent, but connectivity is problematic (for some users). The instructions that come with the device are of little value. Support at WD is below ridiculous. The software that comes on the drive is a bad joke and I would recommend it not be installed/used. Great product!
I use this drive with my dvr. It literally took 30 seconds to open the box, hook up the drive, format it for the dvr, and start recording material. It's been running without a problem since.

So far so good....
Great hard drive at a great price. I don't know who wants to spend an extra $ to $ to get the MyBook version of this hard drive just because it comes with some backup software that nobody ever uses.The true test of a hard drive is longevity, which I won't know for a while, but so far Western Digital hard drives have been good to me and it is why I am switching back after some 2x bad luck with Seagate. If this one fails early I will update my review, but so far this is a great drive with no frills at a great price.

big hunk of an external drive
It's big and fast. It's big. It has a lot of storage. Not a mini drive. Requires an external power source. Does the job. What I really like is that I can store pix & videos and back up my files without running low on space. Only drawback is its physical size, which is, as I said, big.

Coolest external hardrive to date!
I've owned several external hardrive before but this unit by WD stays the coolest of all the them. If you know a bit about external hard drives, they will heat up and, if overheated, potetially crash- I had it happen. This unit appears to have a cooling fan and even though I unplug my external hard drives when not in active use, I forgot to do it on this unit one night, but it was just as cool the next day. I'm pleased with the unit, so far.

Works Great
I got this at a great price and it works just as described. I transferred 80 GB and it got done within 20 mins. No complaint here. it's great that it has a wall wart and also it has a power button to shut it down before unplugging. best for people who aren't looking for portability and don't mind a full size.

Simple and Functional Storage
Just plug it into the USB and AC power and its ready to go. No additional software that is not needed. Does the job for storage and backup. I have only had it a few weeks but happy so far.

Reasonable cost, Plenty of Space
Bought this external HDD to back up existing photos and videos. So far, it is working like a charm. Very fast, silent. Had extra $ rewards accumulated from previous purchases made via BH. Was able to purchase it for roughly $. Would recommend it to anyone.

Great product at affordable price
I got this drive at a great deal!!! Use it to back-up personal files and some project files too, it's so easy to use just plug it in and your PC will recognize it. The only cons of this product is that WD gives a trial of its cloud back-up software just for one month, looks like there was a problem in packaging, it had a tiny scratch :( Despite this tiny scratch and software issue, Works as expected!!!

Great External Drive
Bought this drive to back up my wife's desktop PC. Worked right out of the box, just plug in USB and power and start using it. Paired it with ShadowProtect Desktop backup SW and SyncBack SW for system and data backups. You can also obtain a free copy of Acronis TrueImage via WD's website. WD drives have always been fast and reliable for me. Would be nice if it had a power switch to turn off when not in use.

Did the Trick Plus Some!
I was running out of room on my hard drive and needed somewhere to store my massive media library. This 3tb External drive did the trick . It stored my media with plenty of room to spare. With the 3.0 USB connection I was able to transfer my files quick and painlessly. It's a great drive and so far has operated flawlessly and is quiet as a mouse.
