Great Lens
I was skeptical of this lens for one reason, the f4. I shoot lots of real estate videography and was worried that in a dark room, this lens may not hold up. I couldn't have been more wrong. It is surprisingly bright and a great lens if your looking for a wide lens on the GH4

Great lens-great service from B&H
Decided to buy this wide angle lens for my Panasonic LUMIX GX 1 to complete my lenses range (I own the 45-145 and also the 12-42, which comes as standard pack with the camera body). After few pano shots I already love this lens! Happy to have invested this amount of money and happy having used B&H for first time ever! Will use your services again!

GREAT FOR REAL ESTATE PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO!
I have been using the Lumix G Vario 7-14mm for over 6 months now. When I switched from the Canon 5D to the Panasonic GH4 due to its 4k capabilities, this was one of the first lenses I picked up, and so far I have been very impressed. I shoot real estate Photography and Video walkthroughs, and this is definitely the to go lens for my profession. It's light, small (fits in the tiniest bathrooms) , and nicely built. The image quality is outstanding,... Show More

superb clarity - minimal distortion
Small compact travel friendly. The wide angle range (14-28mm 50mm equivalent) is similar to my $2900 Nikon F2.8 14-24mm zoom with nearly the same clarity and far more portability. I would strongly recommend this lens.

Great lens
After trading in Canon system for micro 4/3, I needed this for my work as a photojournalist. It helps me shoot in situations when the 12-40 isn't wide enough. It is sharp, light enough to hand-hold on my EM-1, and fast. I also use it for personal work. Only con is lack of filter for protection. Got this when the rebate was offered.

Almost Perfect
When I first saw the Panasonic micro 4/3rds optics on my GM1 purchase, I was blown away by the sharpness, low distortion and great contrast. The kit lens for the GM1 makes the camera produce results that equal the ones from my Nikon D7000. So for wide angle landscape shots, I opted for this ultra wide. The technical reviews give it high marks for resolution and distortion and my tests confirm that. Distortion is nearly zero across the zoom range ... Show More

DO NOT USE on Olympus body
Very sharp lens, no problem there. On Olympus E-M1 or E-M5 bodies (maybe other Olympus as well) it is VERY susceptible to purple flares and cannot be removed in post processing. Out in the sunlight you will get long purple streaks on the photo when you least expect it.See attached photo and check the purple on the cupboards and counter on the right side. Fortunately, Olympus now has its own 7-14 pro lens coming out.

Wide Angle Micro Four Third
A must have for micro Four Thirds. 7-14 get you the wide angle you haven't had for the mirror less cameras.

Great for wide angle video shots
I like to keep a wide angle lens on one camera most of the time. This lens serves that purpose very well. Because it does not have a very great zoom range, it is less useful as a general purpose lens and works best for general purpose video if you carry two cameras - a second one with a normal to telephoto range.

Tack sharp wide-angle zoom
Absolutely faboulous lens. Really makes subject pop with that three-dimensional look. Very sharp, quite compact and very nicely constructed. I could not be happier with this lens and only wish I had bought it earlier. Yes, it is kind of expensive, but this is one lens that is certainly worth the cost.

Great Lens gives great Images
I am coming from a Nikon D300 and a Sigma 10-20. After adjusting for the digital factors, I get the same wide angle coverage with a MUCH smaller weight and wonderful photos

Amazing wide angle performance!
Amazing wide angle zoom range. This little gem is the most versatile lens for interior and urban architectural photography I've ever owned in 40+ years as an enthusiast photographer. Somewhat pricey, but it is sturdy, fast and a delight to handle - you certainly get what you pay for. After considering the Olympus EM-1 I invested in a full Lumix GX7 system and couldn't be happier with my decision. I also purchased the 12-35mm f/2.8 and the 35-100m... Show More

Super sharp...but not perfect.
Super sharp lens. 5 stars is for optics. It gets a 4 star otherwise for lack of manual controls. Lens is on the big side. Lacks aperture ring and focus scale. AF is a little slow in locking with moving targets...but that is AF on many cameras.

Nice Lens for wide shots
Great lens for indoor and close quarters shooting. Found it a bit slow for low light conditions but works great with a tripod. If you are planning to use the long end of the lens a lot I would recommend buying the 14mm f1.2 prime lens instead.

Worth the money
I was very hesitant on spending $1K on this lens, I passed on the Nikon 14-28 for my D800E and I settled for a Tokina 16-28 an enormous chunk of good glass for $7/800 and paying so much for this little lens seemed preposterous also considering that it's F4 not F2.8. I've to say though that I'm VERY happy, the lens is very sharp, AF is fast, size is actually an advantage with my GH3, it let me have a very compact kit. Since the lens is sharp full ... Show More

Love this lens
Really love this lens except the price. This is the 2nd one I have owned. Was using to take wide angle photos of a parade in a rain storm and it fell out of camera bag, under a bleachers and gone forever. I miossed it enough to purchase another. Best use is for wide angle without the fisheye effect. Effective for use on any MFT camera

I'm Happy!
I am using it on the bmpcc. It's focal length range is great for the crop factor of the Blackmagic Pocket when on the move. The build is great, given the crop factor the usual foibles of edge effects are less visible across this sensor. It's light enough weight and small enough that the camera and lens together are the picture of portability for top quality video. It is also less intimidating in the public.

Produces great images
I use for landscapes and pictures of interiors. It gives beautiful images and has the option to get really wide, especially in the m4/3 mount. It would be nice to be able to use filters but I love this lens.

This is a great lens, BUT.....!
I debated for some time spending the amount of money this lens costs, but I do like using wide-angle lenses (including fisheyes), and after much research and the viewing of many full-resolution photo samples taken with this lens, I decided to take the plunge and to buy it. For the MFT format, the Panasonic 7-14mm was generally considered to be superior to the other similar lenses available, and the published photos from it and the others supporte... Show More

Very sharp, but not work well with E-M5
This lens is well constructed, very wide, and super sharp. I really want to love and use it. But it does not work well with Olympus OM-D E-M5. Out of the 100 random test shoots I did, about 1/3 of them has big and strange purple flare. Note they are so bad that post processing removal is not possible. That combination just did not work. I wish that this lens accepts filter. That might open ways to work around the purple flare. But it does not. I returned it to B&H.

Panasonic Lumix G Vario on OMD
I bought this to use for shooting my interior design projects and it works very well. The lens captures the entire room with great detail and clarity, even small rooms like a bathroom. The vertical lines do bend along the sides of the image, but that's to be expected. The lens is relatively fast and the clarity is amazing.

Superb Lens
This is one of the finest lenses I have ever owned! I shoot technical rock and ice climbing photos and wide/ultra-wide angles are very important for this type of work. I am not sure I would part with nearly a thousand dollars to own this lens if it was for occasional use but in my case it sees plenty of action. I also use a fish-eye lens which, again, might not be worthwhile for everyone. Many M43 users considering this lens will also look at the ... Show More

Wide with little distortion.
Panasonic does it again with another excellent lens. At 4, it's not super fast, but not too shabby either. It really completes my GH3 kit and very well takes over from my ageing Canon lenses, which included the 16-35, 24-70 & 70-200mm all of which were L series 2.8. All now gone and replaced with this and the other 2.8 Pana lenses. I'm not so far missing lugging around the 5D and all these old heavy weight pieces of glass. I'm not missing the ach... Show More

Excellent lens
I use this lens mostly for shooting interior photos. The extreme wide angle is useful when I'm required to shoot small spaces. The lens is very sharp with little or no distortion. Some CA at the edges in high contrast areas, same as all wide angle lenses I've used (e.g. Canon 17-40 f4.0L).
