Great product
Versatile, strong, amazing design and ergonomics. I was delighted when I discover that I was able to set this tripod almost at ground level and shoot from different lower angles.

Excellent Photo tool
Well built, solid, smooth, easy operation. Once set - my Nikon stays where I put it. No creeping or re-adjusting. I especially like the 3 levels along with the quick release pad. Looks cool too!

Dont let the aluminum fool you...
Being a nature and wildlife photographer, I wanted something that was light weight and easy to use. I also had a budet to stick to and the carbon fibre model was out of my price range. For years I had been using (and replacing almost annually) what ever was the cheapest tripod at @ or @. This time I decided to get a pro level tripod and Manfrotto delivered the goods!Even though its aluminum, it comes in at about 4lbs, but when shoot with my Tamro... Show More

Great product!!!!!
I am very pleased with this piece of equipment. I use it primary for video but happy that I can turn it into a photography tripod easily. The tripod is very sturdy and I love the fact that I will be using it for a long time.

Outstanding Head
I have this head on a carbon fiber tripod and adds a little weight to the setup.I bought this pan/tilt head to replace my ball head that I wasn't too happy with. Just a word of caution you must align the release plate carefully to the camera or it will not click securely onto the head. Be careful. I almost bounced the 7D off the ground.

Great three-way Pano Head
Title says it all! Using mine for huge Pano landscapes; mostly done in HDR. The action is smooth, stable and works as advertised. I might get another for my backup camera, but need to work this puppy for a few months first. Great value for the build quality.

This tripod is the business!
I just started shooting panoramic shots I needed a better tripod than my old Slik aluminum unit. This is a night and day difference! The center column/boom section is one of my favorite parts about thing, but admittedly, this is also the only part that seems slightly plastic-y and feels like it might break... Good thing this has a 10 year warranty because otherwise I probably would have sent it back. Other than that this would be a 5 star review.

eXCEPTIONAL TRIPOD
I use the tripod for wildlife and night photography. It's stable and easy to extend the legs. I'm a small person at 115 pounds, but it's relatively light and easy to carry. It's very high quality product and great value for the money.

Great product for the price
Great tripod for hiking and general use, the height is perfect for 5'8 no bending over to use camera. The new locks are easy and secure legs very fast, very well made!. I would highly recommend this for the beginner and pro photographers.

Simple and Supportive
Love it! This is great for my Mamiya RZ67 - supports the above-average weight of my camera. I do a lot of close-up work and get down in low places, this has been perfect for that.

stable and easy to use
I like the separate ability for positions vs a ball type mount. I feel this is more stable, steady and predictable.

Excellent Head -- Great Value
I use this with my Canon 60D DSLR for both stills and video. It is very solid and does not slip, even with a 300mm tele mounted on the camera. It's panning and tilting action are very smooth -- smoother than a 700RC2 fluid head that it replaced. Though my primary application was for still photography, it will do an excellent job for video as well. It is not very light, but it is solidly machined and feels extremely secure.

Fantastic head
This is the 3rd head I have owned, and by far the best. I don't think the product literature does it justice. I was a little disappointed that the ball heads were out of my price range, but now I am glad I got this one instead. When you loosen up all the adjustments, this head can act a lot like a ball head, and you tighten down one axis at a time. Each of the axis controls are easy to use, and most importantly, they do not drift after you tighte... Show More

Love this tripod
This is the 3rd tripod I have ever owned, and it's by far the best. I don't think the online product information does this tripod justice. It is very easy to adjust the legs in many ways. There are two extendable leg sections, and the releases are very easy to use. There are four set leg angles that click into place, but you can also adjust the legs at any angle between the clickable settings. You can even extend the legs so they lie flat on the ... Show More

First class tripod
I have had this tripod for about a month and a half. I mostly use it for wildlife photography with a Canon 7D and Canon EF400 f5.6 L. The Sunpack tripod I had used previously was too flimsy for this combination and when the head broke off, I decided to follow the advice that professional wildlife photographers give, to not go cheap on your tripod. This tripod compared to my previous one is like bolting my camera to a block of granite instead of a... Show More

Excellent!
Absolutely a great addition to my new Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Aluminum Tripod. This combo holds my canon 60D, 70-300mm lens as steady as a rock, no sagging, smooth panning as well. Highly recommend this head

I totally love this product!
This head floats to command with all the control I have been looking for eternally. The double locking foot to tripod is a great feature, and the extending handles give a fantastic feel with the tension control.

Easy but a little heavy
I have this head on a carbon fiber tripod and adds a little weight to the setup. If you are looking for something light this is not the one for you. But in the long run I think the wight is worth it due to the ease of use.

Great Tripod Head
I ordered this after finally reaching the end of my patience with ball heads. The problem with a ball head is that it moves in all directions at the same time. I like being able to level the x and y axis separately. I'm a satisfied B&H customer since the 80's.

better than i though
i love it because i am 5'11 and reach a very confortable height ,also it is not heavy the pan/tilt head is very easy to use, it can be change the position very fast

Solid performance, compact - just right
The quick release plate is a step up from the older one Manfrotto mad, no more loosening up with this one.The compactness is a great feature, especially when heading out into the mountains or rivers far from home. It's weight is reasonable as well. With the two axis lock out I can use this head to shoot stills and motion with more options to pan and tilt compared to my ballhead.

Super smooth operation.
I bought this pan/tilt head to replace an older Manfrotto head that I wasn't too happy with. My faith has been restored. With the friction control, the operation is quite smooth and has solved my previous problem of jerky operation on the old pan head. I am really happy with this head, and would recommend it to anyone looking for smooth operation, quality and a fair price.

Solid Tripod w/ many configurations
I love that i can make this extremely low to the ground or open up all the legs and raise the middle support. The legs get released with ease and the tripod provides solid support. I mount my kessler travel jib and 3' slider on this and it works great. I would recommend getting the manfrotto 438 to make the leveling a lot easier. Affordable tripod that gives the best bang for your buck.

Awesome Tool
I currently own 7 Manfrotto tripods and recently added the new MT055CXPRO4 to my collection. It very solid and holds well at any angle yet it's light weight enough to carry or pack. The new leg clamps work well just like they describe and the new center stem is nice to work with. I mounted the new XPRO 3-way head on this unit but I have the 3 section model with an 055 ball head that works well too. Overall, I am very happy with Manfrotto products and the support from B&H. I'm sure the price could scare a few people away but with a tripod...you truly get what you pay for!
