Manfrotto 808RC4 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head with 410PL Quick Release Plate

Great product
I use it all the time in a studio environment, It is so much easier to use and so much more accurate than my prior tripod head. It is a bit bulky to take out for landscapes, but by removing the handles I can carry it that way.

Manfrotto 808RC4
Smooth and precise, attach any camera securely, it feels really strong and of course its a bit heavy but it is an excellent head

Very stable tripod head.
I use this on a manfrotto tripod. I have tried ballheads, but I like the stability of this head.

Great
This is a great tripod head, it's a little heavy and bulky but if you're looking for a 3 way tilt wtih a heavy load capacity than this is for you. It's slow to set up and move which will be a downside and will cause me to go buy a ball head as well. But I'm very happy with this product and it will be a great addition to my gear

Fantastic Head
I paired this head with the 055MF3 by Manfrotto. My main passion is landscape photography. While this would lead many people to buy a ball head, I prefer more precise control over the head and the camera. Built in spirit levels coupled with the angle identifier (think of a protractor on the head to tell the angle the camera is at) make shooting a photograph on precise angles much easier.

Just spend twice this for 10x the prod.
I haven't had this a year yet. Maybe 10 months and I am now upgrading to the Markins or Arca Swiss ballheads...This lasted me for my beginning month but I outgrew it quickly Now on to the 3 stars - The head can take a serious beating as I use my tripod everyday in the field - however it does not lock up anymore...at all. I have to use such pressure to loosen and tighten it up every time that I leave with sores on my hands from the rubber handles. Just so you all know - spend the 300-400 on a nice ballhead and quick release and save yourself a stepping stone

Heavy duty
Holds a lot of weight but at the convenience of snugging the knobs tight w/o moving position. Not recommended for macro or (stitched)panoramas unless you buy a sliding attachement for micro movements.

Smooth
What impresses me about the Pan/Tilt Head is its sturdiness, and smoothness, easy to use and like a well greased machine. Stalwart.

Flexible Foundation
Spring System requires practice but increases overall functionality. Tightening of handles can be awkward and or difficult.

No complaints
Haven't found any issues so far but I am starting to wish I went with a ball head due to it would have been more compact for hiking.

Very Effective
Very effective. I was initially skeptical of the spring tension system, but I have found it to be very useful. The head is very sturdy, I actually was in a situation where I had a time critical shot amd was switching from wide-angle to telephoto and couldn't afford to take the plate off the camera and put it on the tripod collar, so I just attacked a 70-200 f/2.8L to a 1D (mkIII) and it held, no problem. It also is very stable even with the 1D in vertical, and the Spring system makes the motion smooth and gentle on the Camera.

Smooth!!
I use it at home, in the field. This thing is built for a life time of service. It is as smooth as silk!

very nice head
This head is extremely sturdy. If I didn't plan to get into some bigger lenses in the future, I would have probably gone with the 804 RC2. I haven't found the spring loaded counter balance to be that helpful so I usually have it switched off. This head is a little heavy, but it should take care of anything you throw at it.

Great Tripod Head
... I sent it back and got this 3 way pan tilt head with the 190X legs. It was less than twice as much, and is ten times the quality. I'm very impressed by Bogen products. I have a monopod and table top tripod as well and they're both awesome. I actually kept finding things as I set up the tripod that I didn't even think about that were nice user frlendly things Bogen had included - they must really think of the user when they design their products.

Excellent solution
Our new industrial camera required a tripod head that would be strong, easy setup and compact. The specifications, features and price made this an excellent solution.
