Sirui ET-2004 Aluminum Tripod with E-20 Ball Head

Hard to beat
I bought this tripod for my Canon 5D Mark IV with battery grip. It supports the camera either my L series Canon 100-400 or Canon 28-300 lens with no problem. The adjustments all work well. I feeling like the locking mechanisms work solidly. It is a little heavier than I would like but the carbon version is only about 1 LB lighter and costs more than double the price. Comes with a nice travel case that holds all of the info and tools. So, for a little over $150 it is a great investment.

Perfect
For my use with a Canon 7dMII and/or Sony A7r3, it works really well. The largest lens I've used on it has been the 100-400 + tele extender. No problem. What I like most, are 1) light weight, 2) clips to open legs (very fast), 3) Ball head, nothing fancy but solid, 4)extension tube for more height, or for macro (replacing the longer tube), 5) 2 sets of hex keys included, 6) Shoulder start included - and I actually love to use it when walking over... So far so good
Purchased this tripod to use with my spotting scope and with a Triclawps rifle mount. The tripod is solid. Not too heavy, not too light. I would buy it again if needed. Lots of features for the price.

Perfect Tripod for my needs
I bought a new Canon D80 for Christmas and needed a good tripod for the camera. I shoot indoor stills but still wanted the versatility to take my camera and tripod out. I researched LOTS of tripods, reading reviews, looking at other resources for reviews and finally narrowed the search to this tripod and one other. The biggest complaint about this tripod seemed to be the height isn't as tall as some would like. Well, I am under 5' so the height i... Show More

Didn't support my full frame Nikon
Set my Nikon D810 with a 24-120mm zoom lens on a 90 degree angle for portrait framing on a long exposure shot. The camera kept slipping and tilted down. It would not stay stationary no matter how much I tighten the quick release plate. My gear did not weigh that much. As a result I had to do a landscape framing not getting the shot that I wanted. I'm hoping B&H honors their return policy. I will be returning this item for a refund.

A tripod I will never get rid of
I am the type who researches everything extensively because I don't want to buy again in a year or two or three... I researched tripods that would meet my criteria: 1. fold down small enough for traveling and hiking, 2. weigh less than 5lbs, 3. sturdy enough to hold a Canon 80D, Canon 100-400, a flash, and still have spare strength to handle what I might someday decide to throw on it. I loaded the tripod down with all my heaviest gear even though... Show More

TOP SHELF STUFF!
I compared this with most all other tripod leg/head combinations with similar features and this appeared to be the much better deal for the price, so I took what I thought was a risk in purchasing this Sirui unit. Wow, I am impressed! This is replacing my old Promaster so it's been a while since I seriously looked at tripods. The Promaster is a warhorse of a tripod that I still punish in the ocean, so that is the only action this unit hasn't seen... Show More

It's what I hoped it was....
I have little experience with modern tripods, and wanted one that would be compact enough for some travel without sacrificing stability or size too much. My previous tripods were either very old, or very small, so when it came to buying a new one I really had no idea what to get based on just internet specs and reviews. I had narrowed it down to this one, the Manfrotto BeFree, and the MeFoto as I had budgeted for under $200. Well I had to pull th... Show More

Love this
No issues whatsoever with the tripod - Love the ball head. Tension on all knobs is very precise and adjusts and holds very small incremental adjustments. Shooting a 5D Mark III and 70-200 2.8 in vertical is rock solid. The foot adjustment is also a very fine thread that allowed me to slowly extend the spike for grip and still use the rubber foot for stability on slippery wet seaweed covered rocks. There is a small learning curve on ball head plac... Show More

very well built, i'm a believer
very well built, this is a great field tripod. light enough to pack out into the field and sturdy enough to support 26 pounds. At 17 inches folded and weighing in at only 3.5 pounds it makes a great travel pod. It comes with it's own heavy duty bag and strap, but I strap it the side of my back pack and it rides just fine. i've never been a big fan of ball heads until now. I don't shoot video so I can't comment on how well it would work for that.

Top quality, robust system
Purchasing a tripod is not easy, especially since there are countless brands and models to choose from. I did a thorough research and found that most sites only suggest the popular brands. This brand is not very popular, and I think it's because many people seem to be discouraged to buy Chinese products due to quality concerns. This is not the case. Don't get discouraged by the low count of customers and reviews of this tripod, because it is exce... Show More

100% Recommended
Was looking for a affordable but solid tripod. Ended up with this one and I am very happy with my choice. Despite its light weight, It is very well manufactured. Great quality. Use it professionally for 360 panorama photography. It is quick to set up and very easy to adjust, which is important to me since I have to shoot several locations and have to re adjust every single time. Over all if I would take a point away it would be for the height. Another 4-6 inches would be perfect, but I am not complaining. Great product, great price - 100% recommended.

Pretty nice tripod
I bought this as a travel tripod because I hurt my shoulder hiking with my bigger tripod. Based on reviews I bought this one. I was pretty disappointed that it was as heavy as it is. It's still lighter than my other one though. The other thing that's hard to get used to us not having the trigger style release on the ball head. Having to unscrew it every time for micro adjustments is a bit of a hassle. I'll give it four stars because it seems like a good product.

Nice Tripod for the Money
Returning this for the carbon fiber version of this tripod. This aluminum one is very sturdy and the ball head that came with it is nice. It does a good job holding my 6D. I just want a lighter version.

A Tripod that Helps One to Adapt
I am at a stage of life when a tripod that allows me to continue photography outdoors is most appreciated. The aluminum tripod is strong, yet much lighter than my trusty Bogen 3130, which probably won't get out of the house much any more. I can use the SIRUI ET-2004 to hold any of four cameras (three film SLRs and one mirrorless camera) for portrait or macro photography. Walking down into the garden with a cane is no problem, since the ET-2004 is... Show More

Powerful all-rounder
I looked for a practical outdoor-tripod and considered the Sirui ET-2004 to be the best choice. Lightweight (it's lighter than my similar sized Velbon carbon tripod with heavy-duty RRS ball head), high load capacity, made of aluminium (stiffness), 3 to 4 section legs with spikes, RRS/ArcaSwiss-plate compatible and simply well- manufactured ball head were the specifications it should have. Heavier is NOT always better!
I recently bought and returned a 5 lb Manfrotto tripod with a heavy head with two grips (levers) to adjust. Turns out my camera's LCD screen would not work properly with this head. B&H, being the fantastic company they are, allowed me to return the almost-new tripod and head and suggested I purchase the Sirui one. WOW..so much lighter, the ball head is so much easier to use and does all the things the Manfrotto did! I bought both of these tripods... Show More

High Build Quality, Surprising Price
We primarily use the tripod for landscapes on hikes. It serves this role well, with little fuss.Best about it are, high fit and finish for the price. Good working height considering it's only a three section. I personally like that it is a lever-release for a speedy leg drop and secure.Only couple negatives for us were the ball head and country of origin. Ball head isn't bad, but it has been sticky in operation, however that may clear up with use. It is Made in China, which may be a concern for those trying to stay away from supporting The PRC.
