Decent but heavy

Dec 31, 2012

Compared to a Bogen monopod (560B), this feels a bit cheaper, though still solid. The leg locks are not as robust as those on the Bogen monopod, but they are also made of aluminum (or magnesium?) and should be just fine. A decent monopod, but it is definitely heavy. It also is not quite as compact as the Bogen monopod.

Decent monopod

Dec 25, 2013

The fact that I received this for free with my camera order may color my opinion, but I think this is a good monopod. It's compact, relatively light and much better than my old one. I recently ordered a head for it but it hasn't arrived yet, so , I haven't used it for anything serious, but it my limited use I like it.

amazing monopod

Aug 16, 2013

this monopod came with my Canon 6D kit and WOW! I have never been so impressed with a free monopod that came with a kit, this thing is so versatile and easy to use not to mention sturdy. I have used similar monopods to this price and will never use any but this. All this needs is a fluid head and it would be perfect.

Nice monopod

Jul 3, 2015

Great monopod for on-the-go shooting projects. I love the portability, the fast, convenience set-up. Better than fussing with a tripod when you don't really need a tripod but need some added camera stability. This product fits the Canon 70-200 zoom lens well. Very handy and fast becoming my go-to piece of equipment.

Exceptional Value

Jun 7, 2012

I use my ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod for bird and flower photos. The weight of this item is excellent and the ease of setup with the quick lock leg extension makes it simple to use. You can quickly go from one height to another with the snap of a finger. I have found no issues that are bad about it yet.

This is the pro choice

Aug 23, 2016

Super sturdy, quality build, this should last for years. They thought of everything, including soft grip and padding to keep the cold aluminum off in chilly conditions. Lighter than it looks, adjustable to many usable heights. I added a ball head mount for my DSLR and would encourage that for full flexibility.

Great Additional Piece

Nov 12, 2013

Not intended to take the place of a tripod, this item does the trick! Never used one before this purchase but it has proved to be easy to use and more than helpful while changing lenses. Fast operation, and I can put the head of my tripod system on this and it works incredibly well (for portrait orientation).

Love this monopod!

Jul 14, 2017

B&H included this monopod with the purchase of our 5D Mark iii, and we absolutely love it. The aluminum is light to hold, but built incredibly sturdy and strong. The adjustable sections are easy to open and collapse and the wrench can tighten and loosen the bolts to adjust to your needs! Highly recommend!

STEADY?

May 5, 2015

So far this seems to be a pretty good monopod. The monopod itself is thicker that I initially thought it would be (in a good way). I cushioned handle on the top make it great in cold weather and more comfortable during the duration of the shoot. Also I like it because it limits your hand from sweating.

Best one yet!

Sep 19, 2015

I use this monopod for every wedding with my heavy 70-200mm lens which was killing my back after a long event! I originally got a cheaper one off @and it was so light that I didn't feel safe having my mark III and glass on top of it! This one is not too heavy but sturdy enough to manage the weight! :)

Quite a stable monopod with stand

Mar 23, 2012

I have one other monopod that I have been using for my camcorder. I needed something that would give me greater stability that I could take where Tripod's are not allowed. This unit really fills the bill very well. I am very impressed with the stability of the unit and the quality of the construction.

No Disappoinments--Again!

Dec 11, 2012

So far, I have the monopod and its feet for group portraits that include me (using a remote shutter release) and for shots of birds at the feeder just outside of our enclosed backporch. Perfect in both instances. Also, its compactness will be great when I take my shooting on the road in the spring.

Something I always carry...

Jun 6, 2012

I carry this now and keep my standard tripod as a backup. I love the fact that although it is a monopod, it can quickly and easily convert to a tripod. Very easy to extend and collapse, easy to carry and sturdy tripod extensions. Overall, a very good product and something I always carry on shoots.

Good monopod

May 12, 2014

I received this monopod as a freebie along with another purchase and was pleasantly surprised that at initial inspection it looks like a solid monopod. It's lightweight, quick and easy on the release and has a comfortable grip. Not sure about the longevity of this product, but for now it's great.

Slightly heavy monopod not bad

Jul 12, 2012

I used this to set my camera on for 4th of July fireworks in DC. It was a little awarkward unscrewing the bottom and setting on the legs in the dark crowded area but it worked well enough. The monopod seems sturdy and it did the job. Came with rather flimsy bag that be better if it had a handle.

Nice robust monopod! *****/*****

Jan 31, 2014

5/5 would reccomend it for sure. It allows you to attach any ballhead to the best of my knowledge. I haven't got to use it just yet but it feels robust and has a nice clamp-style extendable-retractable leg. It came in a D800 bundle. It's not the lightest monopod around as it's made of aluminium..

The legs aren't stable, they come loose

Dec 9, 2011

I bought this unit to replace the monopod and tripod I have, but quite disappointed, because it is much heavier than mono and not stable as tri. The only benefit is carrying one unit instead of two. If you use the legs, they won't stay tied to the unit, it unscrews by itself with any movement.

Great Monopod!

Nov 7, 2015

Doing out door photography, this is a must have. It,s strong yet easy to carry along with my other gear. Love the way it feels very comfortable in my hand, very secure; and you can change the length very easy. When I got it in a camera kit I was very surprised because its so high end! Love it!

I would buy this product again and again.

Apr 29, 2015

I absolutely love this Monopod. I hated dragging a tripod along with me when I was going to photograph birds. The monopod is so light that I never hesitate to take it on photo shoots. It holds the camera steady and even has mini-legs that give added support if needed. I highly recommend this.

I use this last night to take picture of Strawberry Moon, and wedding events. one standing position vs moving position Pros: easy to carry around and take a shot, easy to adjust position. very light compare to tripod. Cons: nothing but if you want to take a shot in one position go for tripod.

It does it's job

Nov 6, 2016

I like it, it feels very sturdy but almost to the point of being heavy. I have another monopod and it does the same job at a lighter weight. I also wish this one was a bit taller as well. The win for this was that I thought it came with a rotating head but I guess that's with another model.

Impressed

Nov 25, 2014

I really like it. It says made in China but it feels made somewhere else. There are a couple of plastics like the strap that feels Made in China. Other than that, but yourself a head for it and you should be set. It isn't heavy but it isn't light. It is strong but practical. A sweet middle.

Great

Feb 15, 2016

Got this monopod when I upgraded my DSLR and can't wait to use it. It is small and light weight perfect for travel and wherever you can get a tripod. It's smaller and is lighter than my manfrtto monopod so it will be great as a handheld boom for an off camera flash for location portraits.
