Oben ACM-2400L 4-Section Aluminum Self-Standing Monopod w/ VH-R2 Tilt Monopod Head Kit

UPC's:
Nice, Sturdy Monopod
I intend to use this monopod for waterfowl photography at a local wildlife management area. I've fitted it with a Manfrotto 234 tilt-head modified to accept a Jobu Design QRR-125 quick release plate. The end result is a very sturdy, affordable, and mobile set up. The Oben monopod snaps firmly into place, and it easily extends enough that at 6'1 I can shoot standing straight up.

Definitely not a substitute for a tripod
It does what it promises as a decent support in a pinch where tripods are not allowed. But not even close to being as stable as a cheap tripod. I am glad to have it for shooting on the street or in somewhat crowded places. It's as heavy as my carbon tripod and pretty noisy to carry around. I'll replace it once I find something better, but for now it's the best I can find.

Power stick!
I was pleasantly suprised with this monopod. It was bundled in a package when I bought my camera body so I wasn't expecting it to be so fabulous. This monopod feels like a tank. It's aluminum so it's not terribly heavy but it feels like steel as far as how sturdy it is.Comfortable grip, adjustment wrench, rubber foot, wrist strap and dual size screw mount. Great monopod!

Great product for a great price
I wanted something simple that I could easily take almost anywhere. This monopod fits the bill. Added an Oben Qra-R2 quick release assembly with extra mounting plates and I'm good to go. While not entirely effortless, this device does provide some additional stabilization so you can clean up those shaky videos. Add a cell phone attachment and shoot almost like a pro.

Should have purchased this years ago
The Nikon D800 benefits from a stable platform and good glass, and since I don't always want to be lugging around my tripod, this is a nice alternative. The camera attaches easily, the adjustments are quick, simple, and easy, the grip is nicely padded, and it works as hoped. It includes a tightening wrench, nicely attached to the column, which I have not had to use.

Well-designed, non-nonsense monopod
This is a very solid monopod, that is a close match to the Manfrotto 608B but at a lower price. It is very nicely finished, with a black-anodized coating and firm foam-covered grip, and includes a very convenient hand strap/belt clip combo that is more useful than the strap on the 608B. The flip locks operate firmly and smoothly, and it comes with a nice cloth bag.

Nice Surprise
This monopod was part of a package that I received when I purchased my Nikon D600. I was surprised at the quality and durability of the item considering it was free with my camera purchase. I really like the weight and sturdiness of this product. I would definitely recommend the Oben BA-0 Ball Head (or equivalent) as there is not much movement available without it.

Liking my Oben Monopod
I choose the Oben Monopod for two reasons, stoutness and price. I have had the opportunity to handle several other pods, some were carbon fiber. Niece product if you are ready to pony up the dollars. Locking latches on leg work smoothly, conversion to the 4 mini-legs is simple and work very effectively. All in all gives me a great camera mount for wildlife and etc.

Versatile tool.
This mono pod came with a camera purchase and is just perfect for my shooting style. Ditched the tripod long ago, but the versatility of this mono pod certainly enhanced casual photo shoots. I do mainly pet portraits for painting reference so it's nearly impossible to sit with a tripod. Never considered trying a mono - thanks B&H for a pleasantly surprising gift!

Versatile
The monopod is quite versatile in that it gives you the option of a stable free-standing platform when needed. The included reversible 1/4 or 3/8 thread is good for landscape shots. You can of course add a head for increased versatility. It is slightly heavy but it seems well-constructed. As previously mentioned, the mini-legs do rattle a bit inside the monopod.

Sturdy, Well Made
I'm using this monopod for both DSLR cinematography and photography. It's very sturdy and well made, and a very good buy for the money. I also purchased the VH-R2 Tilt Head for Monopods, but while it fit onto the monopod well, the tilt head was clunky, and not capable of a smooth tilt. So, I returned the tilt head but kept the monopod, which performs very well.

Not too bad for the price
Overall this is a good sturdy monopod. Adding the optional legs makes it that much more versatile. My only issue is that the levers to open and lock the sections are very hard to open and lock. They are made of plastic and feel like they may snap after some use. I just recently purchased this however so they made just need some breaking in time. Time will tell.

Stouter than Jack Spratt's wife
Use for outdoor photography when uneven ground and frequent sets makes a tripod tough to use. Stout, effective, portable, and well-designed. Easier to handle than a tripod, and surprisingly stable considering it doesn't stand on its own. Adaptable to other tripod ball heads. Needs a mace-head adapter for use in beating off wild dogs and unwanted gaffers.

Solid Monopod
This monopod is a bit on the heavy side, but is a solid performer. Will take the weight of your equipment and provide a steady, stable support. The fold out legs come in handy as well. I've used it in a pinch as a speed light stand. The only criticism would be the legs banging around when stored, but a bit of tape on the shafts will fix that annoyance.

A Must For Photography Enthusiast
A big part of of my photography hobby. Superb functionality in all aspects. Taking special pictures with the help of this monopod contributes to a much better result. I will not leave home without my Oben ACM-2400L 4-Section Aluminum Self-Standing Monopod with Mini-Legs. It's married to my Nikon camera where this pair gives me UPSHOTS OF GOOD PICTURES.

Pleasantly Surprised!
This came for free with my Canon 6D. I wasn't expecting much, but this exceeded my expectations. It's very lightweight, but thick, solid, and quite tall - I'm 6'2, and this monopod comes all the way up to my chin when fully extended, which is perfect. It feels very solid. Expecting to mount a 70-200 f/2.8 to it for some sports shooting most likely.

ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod
Whenever I feel like I'm not going to need a tripod, I still take this monopod, you never really know if you're ever going to need one. I really like this monopod because its lightweight and extremely solid. Quality is superb, wouldn't be needing to upgrade any time in years. Very tall which is 62. Steady like a rock. Overall I would recommend :)

Excellent choice for heavier equipment
Used in conjunction with Oben BE-117 Ball Head on a trip to Alaska to photograph wildlife. Worked well with my Nikon DSLR. I have a 50-500mm lens that weighs over 4 lbs. This monopod supports the lens and camera great. I added a strap with a quick release buckle to the wrist strap so I could fasten it to my backpack and still release it quickly.

Exactly as I thought it would be!
I am a budget photographer/videographer and needed a sturdy but portable monopod and this was exactly what I thought it would be! I took the advice of one of the folks here and taped the metal feet in a staggered fashion and the feet do not rattle inside the monopod body. I used a weifang 717AH head for this monopod and it works great!

Well made, well designed product
I'm not a huge monopod user but this came free with a package I bought. I was pleasantly surprised that it is very well built with good components. The closures open easily and close solidly and the sections slide out well without slipping through. The foam grip is a nice feature if you're using this outdoors in the cold.

Great lightweight but heavy-duty monopod
I was surprised how light weight this monopod is, despite it's heavy duty appearance. It has nice thick tube construction, and a hand strap and belt clip, which is nice. Feels like it could be used as a walking stick while hiking. Can put a tilt head on this easily. Fairly compact when closed, pretty tall when extended.

Great Stand for the price.
I am a semi-pro and needed a tool to use due to a steady shake of my hands. The stand does the job well. Easy to extend and retract. Locking head is also easy to mount and remove camera from its place. Constructed well and a great monopod for many uses. I don't know if I would take it on a long hike but great otherwise.

Good product, good value.
Lightweight, sturdy, and steady with 500mm lens. Flip latches are fast and positive as is the quick connect mechanism. The connecting plate is a permanent fixture on my long lens body so I can be out of my vehicle and shooting in just a matter of seconds if I run across an elusive wildlife subject while driving around.
