The Dynamic Range issue is overblown
This camera is what the people who shoot Canon camera's were looking for in a follow up to the 6D. Canon has added the things that most people were calling for, and it delivered with even some more extras than asked for. That proves Canon's ability to listen to the customer and deliver on their requests. Someone looking for a full field camera body without the expense of the 5D, professional series of camera bodies, were given what they asked for... Show More

Fan of the original 6D, I really wanted to like the mark II
Having owned the 6D for the past 4.5 years I've been waiting anticipating the Mark II for a long time. The first copy of 6DM2 I received from B&H in what I can only describe as sub-standard packing had a faulty sensor. The issue became obvious when shooting at night at high ISO. I used 2 different lenses and all the images exhibited the same strange green line anomaly. I also though the low light shots were noisy but I could not pas judgment beca... Show More

The 6D Mk II is not a 5D Mk IV. Don't expect it to be.
Unfortunately, the lead up to this camera had some misleading reviews. Now that it's out, the purchasers are happy with their decision, some in fact, like me, are very, very happy with it. I didn't expect this to be a $3,500 camera like the 5D Mk IV, although too many people turned down their thumbs when they compared it, side by side, to the venerable 5D Mk IV (a camera costing almost twice as much). I read one review here stating that he did ju... Show More

Replacement for 5D mk2
As the title says , I got this thing to replace a 5D mk2 that I've had for nearly 10 years . Still works fine , but it's on borrowed time . While the new camera is a bit lighter and a bit smaller , the differences between the 2 aren't that great . There's lots I like about the 6d2 . Its' got the usual Canon excellent ergonomics ,good grip and all the buttons you're likely to need in use are right at hand . Canon finally put the DOF preview on the... Show More

Wow! My first full frame DSLR
I just upgraded my Sony A68 DSLR (DSLT) system to my first full frame Canon DSLR EOS 6D II. Before buying it, I have been shopping around and doing some homework on my own. I have to say I have seen the same pros and cons about this camera. There are several reasons what made me decide to purchase this system as my first full frame camera. My Sony A68 has a tiltable screen like the Nikon D750 but way smaller but the LCD screen on my Sony A68 does... Show More

Perfect Wedding Camera
I read a lot of complaints about canon and the lack of specs on this camera, and I must say, there are some things this camera won't do. It doesn't do 4k, it doesn't have a 4.2.2 output option, and it doesn't do anything slower than 60p. It does only record in IPB (higher compression than the traditional Canon All-I). That said, the bitrate is still higher than the previous model 6d, and the color grade is much better. The picture is crisp and ha... Show More

Great for my particular needs
I have used extensively a series of Canon DSLRs...the T1i, 60D, 6D and for about 6 months now, the 6DII. I shoot about 10,000 shots/year, mostly group events, landscapes (including urban architecture), macros & abstracts. About 95% of my shots are with a Tamron 24-70 zoom, or a Canon 70-200 mm L f/4, or a Canon 100mm L f/2.8. The 6DII is fast to focus, even in low light, with all of these lenses. It has the same very good handling characteristic... Show More

Canon 6DmkII, good but not great.
I received my 6dmkII in late July pre-Iceland trip and at this point I've spent plenty of time with the camera to evaluate it. On the plus side the 6DmkII has great ISO performance & color. The 6DmkII takes great photos period. Auto focus is OK, perhaps not as good as my 7DmkII but good enough for portrait and landscape work and maybe some wildlife. However, I did have some problems tracking songbirds it the trees which can be hard with any cam... Show More

This is my first time purchasing from BH Photo Video. I was finally ready to switch to a full frame camera, and decided to get one from this reputable store. I chose this package as it seemed like a good deal. And indeed this is a good deal. I got the Basic Kit package and the accessories looked to be fine when i received them. But unfortunately, the main item of this product which is the Canon 6D Mark II body has been upsetting. Upon delivery, i... Show More

A great camera - at the right price
I purchased the 6DII during the Black Friday bundle deal with the grip, printer, extra battery etc.; after rebate I paid $1350 for the kit. I will preface my review by saying at the initial MSRP of $1999 I wasn't even considering the 6DII, but at $1350 with all of the extras - I had to give it a shot. I previously owned a 6D and also currently own a 5DIII. I had told myself many times that if Canon put a decent AF system (check), faster FPS (che... Show More

Good (not great) Purchase for Video Shooters
My priority is video and I do some photography, and the 6D Mk II fits that profile best for me in the Canon DSLR full frame line-up. I have an 80D, and I honestly have to look hard to tell the difference between these two cameras, that being said, there are some major performance differences. 1. The processor speed is significantly faster on the 6D. The AF seems to pop quicker, the touch screen is amazing and the WiFi is much better. 2. Obviously... Show More

From the perspective of an enthusiast.
Please note that before this purchase, I was previously using my EOS 60D which I bought in 2011. Obviously, this means that this was a massive upgrade for me and my first foray into FF. I've been shooting with it for two weeks now and the experience has been seamless- a continuation really, of my previous camera in terms of button layout. So if you're familiar with any of Canon's more modern xxD cameras, you'll feel right at home here. The reason... Show More

Everyone said bad thingEveryone says bad things about this camera. And they are not very far from reality, but to be fair I must say that it is not so bad. The purpose for which I bought this camera was to have a backup and used as a second camera for video. I'm an freelance photojournalist, I make a lot of video for different multimedia platforms. Canon, are you listening?
The 6DMkII comes with some impressive bells and whistles but to belabor the obvious, the sensor is the most important part of the camera body. There's been a bit of pushback online against the reviews citing the poor dynamic range performance of the 6DMkII, from folks who proclaim that dynamic range isn't so important. Well it's not, until it is. After extensive side by side comparison testing with my 5DMkIV and 6D bodies, I've regretfully conclu... Show More

My first full frame camera
This is my first full-frame sensor camera, moving up from a Canon 70D. So, the comparison I'm doing is against that. These are just some of the main difference that struck me. Controls - very similar to the 70D (no surprises). The top-level menu system is organized a little differently, but you won't have problems finding things. Noise - noticeably less than the 70D. This is probably the biggest improvement that I can tell, and I assume it's simp... Show More

An amazing performer
Its hard to describe just how versatile this little Canon truly is. Its lighter than the 5D series, so its much more forgiving on day hikes or periods of extended handling. I thought the articulating touchscreen was a gimmick at first, but now that Ive begun to use it for new creative shooting angles, I really dont think I can go back to a camera without one. I love this camera!
To begin, I think its relevant to point-out that this is both my first full-frame camera, and also that I came from an old Canon Rebel T3i. So this jump was not only significant for me from a level of camera standpoint, but also from a crop-sensor to a full-frame standpoint. I looked long and hard at buying this camera before pulling the trigger. I read a lot of reviews, not all of which were wildly positive, and also checked out the 5D Mark IV.... Show More

Currently not very happy
I purchased the camera as part of a great package and was very much looking forward to receiving the camera. The features, the MP, burst rate, the WI-FI and the GPS were all step ups from my 5dmark2, so I was psyched. So, I took it out for a test run. I put on my 85mm Tamron and went to Madame Tussauds to take some wax portraits. I had the lens wide open at 1.8. I noticed there was a great deal of vignetting occurring. or so I thought. As the l... Terrific upgrade!
I bought this as an upgrade from my 6D original. The auto focus is miles and miles ahead of the original. The focus is very fast and very sharp. It would be nice if the focusing points were spread out a little bit more but it's not a deal breaker for me that they are closer to the center of the view finder. The noise at high ISO's seems to be really quite good. I haven't had a ton of time to test this yet because we have had a full moon but my ti... Show More

My experience
I am, overall, quite pleased with the camera, how it handles and the photos it produces. I shot jpegs the first two days as I didn't have the LR updates to process RAW files. The jpegs were bright, colorful and had great detail and handled high ISO quite well. I found photos taken at 25,600 had noise but were still quite useable. After using noise reduction in LR, they retained good detail. I want to get the most bang for my buck that I can get. ... Show More

Excellent, Low-Cost, Feature-Packed Full-Frame
I bought this camera mainly because I wanted a full-frame, Canon camera that was smaller and lighter than my 5D4. I have used the 6D2 for nearly a month, primarily for wildlife and landscapes; so I have tested it extensively within a wide array of lighting conditions--and am so far very impressed. I was upgrading from a 70d to full frame. I looked at the 6d Mark II and the 5d Mark IV. The 6d had many of the same features I wanted in the 5d Mark IV (although slightly less pixel count) and all of the features I did want. The 5d had features I would probably never use, and didnt have some of the features I used on my 70d. The 6D Mark II is a solid camera with nice image quality and user-friendly design. It has some heft to it, but nothing that is uncomfortable to use. The boost in FPS helps with moving subjects and the AF system is wonderful. I also liked the white LED display in the viewfinder (as opposed to the yellow display in other models).
