Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera with 24-105mm f/4L II Lens

Filmmakers Dream
The film makers complaining about the 1.64 times crop of this camera makes it to there is not sufficient Shallow Depth of Field. thats strange because the crop factor actually matches my URSA Mini 4.6k which is Super 35mm. The shallow depth of field is not a problem on that camera nor the millions of Hollywood films that are all shot on, you guessed it, Super 35. I can actually use full frame lenses for photography and the Sigma 18-35 1.8 or Toki... Show More

Fantastic camera, greatly improved high-ISO performance
About one month ago I sold my 7d and 5D MkIII and purchased a new 5D MkIV. Having used the MkIII for several years, the transition to the MkIV was straightforward. The menus are very familiar and easy to navigate, and I was up and running within minutes. The camera is very solidly built and just feels great in my hands. So far, the things about the MkIV that impress me most are the resolution of the new sensor, dynamic range of the RAW files and ... Show More

Even better photos and stunning 4K on a budget
I am blessed to work in the video field with professional level cameras. I always wanted to be able to shoot the same quality video during family events and vacations. I also didn't want to carry two cameras, one for video and one for stills, every where I went. I pulled the trigger on the 5D Mark III a few years back and it was what I had dreamed of. I just traded that camera in for the new 5D Mark IV. The Touch screen auto focus control while s... Show More

5D Mark IV worth the wait
This has been one of the most anticipated new camera bodies for a long time and I planned on ordering as soon as it was released. Unfortunately, B&H sold out immediately and I had to wait a few extra weeks before I could get mine, ut it was worth the wait. I upgraded from a Rebel t4i, so among the many advantages: full-frame sensor; 61-point focusing vs 9; two memory card clots; intermediate ISO settings rather than, e.g., jumping from 3200 to 64... Beautiful camera
I bought the 5D Mark IV from B&H awhile ago and have had the opportunity to use it for corporate jobs, headshots, and travel photography. It is a beautiful camera, versatile, and compared to the 1DX mark ii, light weight. My policy is if the subject moves quickly like a speed skater, I shoot the 1DX mark ii. If the subject does not move as quickly, such as shooting a portrait, the 5D mark iv is a great choice. If you pair this body with a 24-70 f... Show More

GOOD FOR PHOTOS - LOUSY FOR 4K FILM MAKING
As a Profesional Photographer and Cinematographer, I was hoping for a hybrid for 4K video and stills. I pre ordered the 5D Mark IV and tested it. The stills are great not a drastic difference from the Mark 3, the focusing was slightly better than the Mark 3. However, when I tested the 4K video, I was very disappointed. When you shoot 4K video with this camera, you are shooting with a crop sensor; smaller than a GH4 with a speed booster. Your L se... Show More

Great Camera
I have now been shooting with this camera for about 3 months and it has exceeded my expectations. I am definitely an amateur and use this to primary shoot landscapes, nature, and family pictures. The autofocus has been amazing. It has tracked subjects in very low light and been spot on and tack sharp on them. It rarely misses focus even in the most difficult of situations. The high ISO is great. I have shot up to ISO 10,000 in low light and had t... Show More

Canon Recall Warranted
Purchased the Mark IV version with the intent to use it instead of the 5DMarkIII and 1Dx for wedding shoots. First body that was shipped to me was defective in not writing fast enough to the buffer and therefore shooting continuously at a 1 frame per 2 sec speed. B&H replaced the camera immediately and smoothly with a new body (Ser# 24 counts higher than the first). The second body was also defective in not focusing correctly in back-button focus... Show More

Beautifully engineered.
Amazing ISO performance. Great battery life. Fast and stable OS. Superior AF even with old cheap canon lens. Classic ergonomics and natural hand grips. Crisp and bright display with precise touchscreen control. Menu items have increased but they are arranged in logical order. Discreet and very quiet shutter. I was surprised. Wifi control is amazingly fast, less lag than gopro. The app does loose connection from time to time.. Now there are a few ... Show More

Awesome Workhorse
I upgraded my 5D Mk III with this 5D Mk IV. Ok....not completely true....I'm still using my Mk III as a backup body which is a testament to how well Canon builds these bodies. The Mk IV is no different when it comes to the quality that Canon builds into their camera bodies. Materials and workmanship are excellent and the added features of this Mk IV are terrific as well. I'm enjoying the additional pixels as well as the added ability to control a... Show More

Extremely pleased with this camera!
I am very happy that I bought this camera. I love my 6D and didn't think there was much room for improvement with what I use my camera for, but I was dead wrong. It is well built with additional weatherproofing which makes me feel more at ease when out shooting outdoors in poor conditions. The autofocus system is unbelievable. Very fast and accurate. The back screen is higher resolution than anything I have seen on any camera. Bright enough and s... Show More

Great upgrade from mark III
I carry both a 5d mark II and a mark III when doing weddings and corporate work, but found myself using only the mark III and the older camera had become just an expensive lens holder. Time to replace it. Love the mark IV. So much better at low-light focusing. Switched to shooting on auto ISO setting with this body since images look fantastic all the way up to ISO 12,800 and still usable even up to 32,000. Touchscreen--and especially touch to foc... 5D MIV video outshines MIII by leaps and bounds
I've been a Canon user since the 5D MII. Half my jobs are photo and half video, so I need something that will allow me to do both. Didn't buy the MIII bc it wasn't enough of an upgrade from the MII (plus where I work has two of them...). Once I got the MIV , I did a side by side video test with the MIII and the MIV with each of the following lenses: Zeiss 15 f2.8 Canon 24 f1.4 Canon 35 f1.4 Canon 50 f1.2 Zeiss 100 f2 Makro Canon 70-200 f.2 (@135m... Upholds Canon's 5D Series Heritage
Recently upgraded from Canon's 5D Mark III to the 5D Mark IV and those who say that the 5D Mark IV is just an evolution of the Mark III couldn't be more wrong. While I enjoyed my years with the Mark III and still consider it to be an excellent camera, the Mark IV is light years ahead of the Mark III. Absolutely Remarkable
I recently purchased the Canon 5D Mark IV to replace my Canon 5D Mark III so my comments focus on my observations of the IV over the III. Matter of fact, I shot a 16 year birthday party last night in a ballroom from early evening to late evening with lights coming through the windows to very little available light using both a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM and the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L USM (which I've had for a couple of years). B&H rocks as always. I have owned the 5dmkii,5dmkiii,5dmkiv and they are truly bulletproof and well designed professional level gear with excellent images. My 5dmkii ran through 50+ weddings with 1000 or more images over 6 hours with no surprises or hickups. Hundreds of portrait sessions, landscapes in the desert, ocean, and mountains. Heavy duty use. Great camera for stills
Preordered this camera to upgrade my 5D Mark II, so all the features have been vastly improved from my vantage point. I'm primarily a stills shooter, but also shoot some video too. Still one of the Best
I am a stills shooter who occasionally shoots video. I have been shooting with Canon since the early 90's, and have owned all the 5D line of cameras. While many consider the 1D line canons Flagship, the 5D has to be the work horse. The reason I just now purchased the 5D mk4 is my mk3 didn't need to be replaced until recently. The only Cons I have for the mk4 are no flip screen, which would have added so much to the awesome touch screen, and the o... Show More

Terrific image quality for the most part, and good features. A real workhorse that I use for portrait, landscape, architecture, photojournalism, and family photos. I appreciate the step up from the 5D3 in resolution, dynamic range, and low-light performance. Autofocus also is noticeably better, though I still have trouble in difficult situations like photographing flying birds. Tapping on the screen to focus video is tremendously useful, and navi... This camera has all the features I was hoping for. I don't shoot video so I don't really care about those features and may only use them rarely. In fact I would have been happier with no video capability and a lower price point. I upgraded from a 5D MkII so the auto focus is a big improvement over the MKII and is better then my 7D. Worthwhile update
In many respects, I'm finding this to be a big improvement over the Mk3. Plus: 1. Resolution for stills is working very well for me. Not to big, not too small. 2. Dynamic range and low light performance for stills has been very good. Feels like an improvement over the MK3, but without the two to test next to each other, it's tough to quantify it exactly. 3. Video at 1080 is substantially sharper than the MK3 or really any Canon DSLR that I've use... Show More
