Everything you need!

Sep 27, 2017

Bought mine about 2 month ago, had a few photoshoots with it. The touch screen makes life extremely easy so you dont have to look for the right button to change something. 30 megapixels is more than you need! This can create a poster with great quality and without the huge file sizes like other cameras have do to more pixels. With an L lens i have gotten some of the best images yet, and if you use canon everything is in the same place similar to ... Show More

Great system

Dec 2, 2016

This was an upgrade for my existing Mark II. Great system, although i experienced rapid battery drain when using third party batteries. (Watson) I am getting over 900 images with the Canon original batteries, and about half that with the third party brand. I am glad Canon put a second setting in the GPS enable menu area. The new setting allows the choice to shut down GPS with the power switch and power back up again when the camera is turned on. ... Show More

Canon reliability.

Mar 28, 2019

Ive tried a number of cameras and keep coming back to this one. The magnesium body. Ability to record raw video, which lowers import times as you dont have to decompress from lousy AVCHD when editing is a huge plus. Make sure you read the supported memory card list. Stick to the fastest Lexar cards. Theyre usually the best. All sensors are cropped in video. They just call it line skipping. This camera does not overheat at all. Other cameras in t... Show More

Yes, Go Ahead And Upgrade!

Sep 23, 2016

As good as the 5D Mk III is, the Mark IV benefits from a plethora of updates and new capabilities that, in my opinion, make this a very worthwhile upgrade. I am primarily a stills shooter and am very pleased with the expanded ISO range, 7 fps continuous rate, fast autofocus, much quieter shutter, touch screen setting adjustments, mirror vibration control, and the much faster USB 3 file download capability just to name a few. The 5D4 body is sligh... Show More

Excellent upgrade to the 5D Mark III

Sep 22, 2016

I have owned every 5D camera and this one is the best! The Mark IV is more refined and has a quieter shutter. The addition of faster frames per second means I can shoot an HDR image quicker and thus have less lag in between shots. The build quality is better, while it actually is a few grams lighter than its predecessor. The grip feels better in the hand too. Having a ton of batteries and chargers already, this camera fits right in with the rest ... Show More

A game-changer for one-man video work

Jun 16, 2018

As a professor of photography, I use a lot of cameras. It's an amazing camera with great image quality and ease of operation, as you would come to expect from a camera of this caliber and reputation. But what really surprised me about this body is the dual-pixel AF for video. It's a real game changer for working with video, as it allows you to do complex focus pulls and tracking that would normally require a cinema lens and several people to pull... Show More

This is the best camera purchase ever.

May 25, 2017

After one year of research and ruminating, I purchased the 5DM4 as an upgrade to my 5DM2. In the past 48 hours I have taken over 500 shots under every conceivable condition in my desert landscape exclusively using my 3 Canon red line lenses...16-35mm, 24-105mm, and 70-200mm. Please checkout the attached bobcat shot in my back yard tree taken in low light conditions late last night. In short, my only regret is not getting it when it first came out... Show More

The Legacy Continues

Oct 13, 2016

I have only owned the camera a week and have had it out only once. I have owned the 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III and now the 5D Mark IV. All were and are incredible cameras. The thing is, they keep getting better. The Mark IV adds GPS and wireless control and image transfer; all one needs is something to connect it to. For me, I transfer images wireless to my phone. It's awesome for social media, to get an incredible image and be able to post it quick... Show More

The real deal!

Aug 21, 2017

Moving up to full-frame has been a hugely positive experience ? and making the leap up to 30.4MP is especially so. Using 35mm film cameras for documentary journalism in the '80s provided a solid foundation in understanding light and exposure ? and with settings all well displayed, making adjustments on the 5D Mark IV is exactly what I need. If you have an older camera, it is worth looking into the 5D Mark IV. Nice & great Camera for Video shooting & photography. The touch screen is amazing. Very impressed

Sep 22, 2016

I'm sure thus camera will receive a ton of detailed reviews. Mine will be very simple. I shoot street fashion typically using the Canon 85mm f/1.2 L II lens and upgraded from a 6D to the 5D Mark IV. My main reason for upgrading is the 6D focusing system wasn't meeting my needs. The Mark IV has a fantastic focusing system, seems to do a better job resolving complex lighting situations, produces images that to my eye are richer in color and of cour... Show More

A superbly rewarding camera

Jan 22, 2018

I got this beauty after an identical model (with the previous version of the 24-105mm) was stolen to me in the Munich airport. I first got me a Canon 6D Mark II in the hope I could have an essentially identical camera with much less money, but after using it for a couple weeks, I came to the realization that there is just no comparison. Especially in the quality of the images, that is at the end what counts, isn't it? So I know this camera well (... Show More

I was hesitant to purchase on the pre-order thinking I would rather wait for some reviews on the 5D Mark IV. Coming from 5D MK2

Dec 16, 2016

I owned 5D MK2, mainly for photography, then skipped MK3, because I thought the improvements didn't quite justify the cost. What I was waiting for was simply more cross-type focus points, (which MK3 had, but that alone wasn't enough), Wifi & GPS, USB3 for thethering, and auto focus in video mode (possible now because of Dual Pixel tech). I understand true pro videographers use manual focus, but this camera seems like it wasn't targeted for them. ... Show More

Amazing Camera, BIG learning curve

Jan 13, 2018

I totally love the camera after using for a month. Photos are amazing! So far my only displeasure would be the movement of buttons from where they have typically been on a Canon. For me, the RATE button is a total waste. I don't rate my photos in camera. I rate them in editing. Should have put the info button there. Such a waste of a button. I liked the magnify button so much more when you could keep magnifying. Now I can only magnify once then I... Show More

I have had all 5D cameras over the years and this one is undoubtedly the best 5D ever made. And, of course, I am giving it 5 stars because the camera is fantastic. But... Long story short, it is not worth switching from Mk3 to Mk4. Period. After two wedding shoots with the Mk4 I can assert: 1. Focusing speeds of Mk3 and Mk4 in the low light is the same. 2. Noise/grain level at higher ISOs the same. 3. This Dual Pixel something in't worth the hass... Show More
