Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera with 24-105mm f/4L II Lens

Its a great upgrade if you shoot video
Initially I hadn't consdiered upgrading from a Mark III to a Mark IV because it felt like the incremental upgrade wasn't worth it. After trying one and realizing the advantage of auto focus, especially if you shoot a lot of live and mobile video would be well worth it. - Autofocus works great. Its not perfect but if you shoot with a gimble as a one person shooter this will allow you to get shots that otherwise are hard if you are pulling focus wh... Show More

LOVE MY NEW 5D Mark IV
Hi Have had my Mark IV since December as an upgrade from my old Canon T4i. What a difference! The speed, focusing and low light is 10 times better. I know that I am comparing apples to oranges but I love this upgrade. I purchased this camera for photos, but have done some video on it. The focusing is amazing. I shoot all of my daughters indoor volleyball games for the club, where most of the games are in dark(er) gyms. Even bumping the iso to 640... Show More

This the camera I've been waiting for!
Been a Canon shooter my whole life and this is the camera I've been waiting for! I have previously used: 5DMKII, 5DMKIII, 5Ds, 6D. Things I absolutely LOVE: The touch screen! (It's not just a gimmick, it really helps navigate the menus and pinch-to-zoom is so cool!) The additional focus selection button Shutter actuation is like warm butter, and the FPS is a well-oiled machine The improved series II lens is a big step with ergonomics plus it has ... Show More

Great camera for real estate and architectural still photos
I'm using this camera mostly for real estate and architectural still photos. I am pairing it with the new Canon 16-35mm f2.8 Mark III lens. It's a major upgrade from my previous setup; an 80D with a Sigma 10-20mm f3.5. The improved sensor along with a fast wide-angle lens handles low light interiors very well. The touch LCD screen is very convenient, and it would be hard to switch back now that I've used it. The autofocus features are a significa... Show More

Love the camera for photos, but not at all for video
I love it for photos enough that I'm still giving it 5 stars. For video, I'd give it 1 star. I bought this camera with the benefit of a doubt that I can use it for video on occasion. It was not worth the extra money. Being an owner of the GH5, I would never recommend this camera for someone looking to shoot a lot of 4K video or even 1080p video with it over something more dedicated. Canon Log, although 8-bit, is light years ahead of 10-bit V-Log ... Show More

Great stills Camera
As a professional photographer I can attest to the fact that the 5d Mark IV is a great all around camera. To start off with lets get this out of the way .. it was never meant to be a front runner for video - get over it already - Canon is pushing their video camera line !! As a still camera, it is very good. The auto focus is excellent - rarely does it ever miss. I used to shoot weddings but now mostly landscape. The dual pixel touch screen for f... Show More

Versatile Lens But Requires Optimization In RAW Conversion
This is my main lens for travel photography and landscape. I also carry an ultra-wide and a 70-200mm at all times. I owned the Series I version of this lens 2009. Uncorrected, both the Series I and this Series II version are a little soft out in the corners, particularly at the wide end. Despite that, I've gotten excellent results. These lenses started me using DxO's Optics Pro RAW conversion program in 2009. I was about ready to send the lens ba... Show More

Upgraded from an EOS 6D
I am not qualified to give an objective, scientific opinion. This is completely subjective! I upgraded from an EOS 6D because the 6D lack of focus points was a constant hassle. Of course I saw the scathing 5D4 reviews that blasted its 4K video and old memory card usage and was concerned. I mulled it over and decided to give the 5D4 a try. Wow. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with the autofocus and the touch screen. It is almost indece... Show More

Probably a winner for PhotoGs, but lackluster for VideoGs
Just as a disclaimer, I am not a professional photographer, but I make my living shooting videos. Body fit and finish is fantastic, similar dimensions to the 5D3, but a bit lighter. Shutter sounds great, full frame images are wonderful, un-readable raw for the present time. Those features are to be expected. Let's go into the video side of things. It's lacking a EVF. After shooting on a A7S2 for the past few months, working with an EVF to both re... Show More

very suitable upgrade from Canon
Wavered on buying the 5Ds or this model, and now I am glad I went with the Mark IV. MegaPixel count isn't quite as important to me as the C-Log upgrade and all other things being pretty equal, I went with this. I usually buy whatever Canon is offering as their newer 5D line but waited through the mark III, so this was really quite a step up from the Mark II. Image quality is noticeably better, and the newer function controls are very handy, as is... Show More

In love with so many of the upgrades from the 5D3
The touch screen and wifi alone make this 5D the easiest I have seen for working with models. I no longer need to use external expensive and often inoperable means of bouncing my images to an IPAD or IPhone. I can not only take the photo from the device, but I can chance focal points and the camera settings, from the iPad or phone and take the photo, remotely. Looking at the images on the camera is much like using your iPhone. You can swipe and p... Show More

I'd buy another one if this one is lost.
Great camera...significant improvement over the mark 2. this is one of those cameras that I might have to actually read the manual...so many options, so many choices, so many combinations. Took it out for a trial run about 2 weeks ago and was floored when I saw the quality of the images that came out of it. I didn't expect the jump from 21ish to 30is MPs to be that big of a deal, but it was huge IMO. Love the dual card slots. I've shot for years ... Show More

Noob Perspective
As much as it pains me to admit, I'm just an amateur photographer. You may be asking why an amateur bought a pricey full frame and the simple answer is that we are expecting our first child. Up until this point I have been a landscape guy and I learned the ropes on a Sony Nex. While I enjoy the Nex for what it is, it's not a great indoor/portrait camera and the lens selection leaves much to be desired. As such, I found myself wanting more - more ... Show More

User reviews create doubt about this spectacular camera.
This camera is fantastic. The auto-focus is amazing, particularly for shooting video. If you have to follow action as part of your job, the touchscreen autofocus alone makes it worth the purchase price. You can trust it If you use an external recorder you can used the uhd camera setting to zoom you in by 1.7x on the chip and send it out thru the hdmi. it bumps the codec to 422 in uhd too. Still 8bit but Nice. You need a wide angle lens to offset ... Show More

My 5D Mark IV
This review is based on my experience with the 5D Mark IV, nothing to do with the specs. Ease of Use: The touch screen works like a smartphone. The touch screen, the custom quick control, the custom mode C1-C3, and the re-assignable buttons, work so well together and make this camera a joy to use. The wireless, NFC, GPS, existing flashes, and battery/charger are all working. Creativity Tools: The HDR, multiple exposure, and others give ... Show More

Worth the extra size and weight without a doubt.
Recently upgraded from the 5D Mark II. I loved my 5D Mark II although there were some clear shortcomings that were addressed in the Mark III & Mark IV which finally encouraged me to pull the trigger: 1. Fast and accurate autofocus - shot many pictures wide open at f/1.2 and f/1.4 without any problems. 2. Upgraded ISO capability for low-light pictures 3. Upgraded 30.4MP sensor 3. Touchscreen/WiFi/GPS 4. Viewfinder coverage at 100% 5. Solid constru... Show More

This is a wonderful step up from the Canon 6D
I'm not a professional photographer, only an enthusiast. But I enjoy owning professional-grade equipment. This camera is perfect for me. My previous experience was with SLRs and then a Canon 6D DSLR. For the 6D, I'd obtained a couple of L lenses; so nothing else except the camera body was needed. My niche in photography is wildlife photography, followed by landscape and then action. The 5D Mk-IV will satisfy me for many years to come. The touch s... Show More

Nice improvement over the Mark III
I only do high school sports indoors and outdoors and motorcycle motorsports such as motocross and GNCC racing with the 70-200 f2.8. I do not do portraits or staged pictures with lighting so read this review with that in mind. I have had the 5diii for 4 years and way more pictures than I care to think about. My complaints with it were missed focus and not enough MP for cropping and still get a clean image. I was mostly happy with everything else ... Show More

Fantastic Camera
This really is a fantastic camera all around. It is built like a tank, particularly with the added battery grip. It is fast and a very snappy autfocus system is probably the best you can get overall, apart from the twice as expensive 1DX Mark II. However, it is the overall image quality that is by far the best. Colors are accurate without being flat, and as a photojournalism student who still has to make prints, the quality is spectacular since t... Show More

Good
To put this in the proper context, I adore my 7Dii. The 5Div form factor is nearly identicle. The focusing is very good, but a little slower. The frame rate is great for a portrait camera, but is a little slow for fast moving sports. Now that Lightroom can processs the RAW files, I'm finally getting a look at the dynamic range and I'm pleased. The duel pixel RAW is a bust. Don't waste you time or base your purchase in that.
