Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens For Nikon with AE Chip

Great Lens for a great price
I use this lens for night sky photography. The manual focus takes a little getting use to, but with practice the pictures came out better than I expected. Great lens for the price, gets similar results as more expensive lenses.

Learning Curve
This lens is a great product for the price. Images are very sharp, and when stopped down the sharpness on the corners is still very good. Since this is a manual lens, you might need to practice a bit, but this is a great product. I use it for landscapes and astrophotography.

Great price/performance
I primarily purchased this for astrophotography and it performed well. Get some good dark skies and stars are pinpricks and perfect. I did a little landscape and need to do more but what I've seen so far this is a really good lens. Don't mind manual focus as you get an assist through view finder of Nikon 7100 to help with good focus. For the money this is a really good purchase. Thank you B&H

Great Lens!
So far I have just taken pictures of Christmas activities but I plan to use it in Real Estate photography.

Decent ultra wide for the money
I shoot primarily landscape. I wanted an ultra wide lens that was compatible with a full frame DSLR, and wasn't going to cost $1000+. The lens arrived in good condition. I was surprised at how relatively small it was. It seems solid, but doesn't have the Robust feel of some of my higher end lenses. Then again it costs 2/3 less than those lenses. the lens is chipped to be compatible with Nikon cameras, as far as aperture and focus indicators. Focu... Show More

Better than I thought...
When I decided to add the Rokinon 14mm f2.8 lens to the few lenses that I own, it was for one reason, astrophotography. I had to convince myself that the benefits of this lens outweighed the lose of auto focus and metering. To photograph at night, this lens is really good. It is everything I read about. I highly recommend it for astro/night photography. What I didn't take into consideration when researching the lens, was that it can be used for o... Show More

Pretty Good Ultrawide
This lens is extremely sharp at f4 and up. This is my first ultra wide and I particularly bought it for landscape work. No complains in regards to sharpness on a 5Dsr, but the distortion can get pretty severe on certain shots. I would not recommend this for group portraiture unless you really know how to control the distortion. Using a lens profile (not included) in Adobe CC helps. Also focusing is a challenge looking through the viewfinder; much... Show More

Good value, but don't expect the best optics
The wide angle is great if you know that it is manual only when you buy this sense. It is the best wide angle lens with a large view angle that you can get for anything less than $ dollars.

Right Price
This lens is sharp, fairly easy to use and a very good price. Tack sharp images when used correctly , however, does have some slight distortions.

Great for the money
The lens is definitely on the cheap side for what it can offer. If you can live with the manual focuse with is not hard at all due to its wide angle nature. Everything is generally in focus anyways. I would use this for landscapes and astrology for sure. It has a lens profile correction to download on the Internet. And the distortion should be fixed to a point. Overall great lens for $ bucks.

ultra wide without auto focus
Crisp images. I use it for in-city photos. Lacks auto focus. So that can be a bit troubling at times. But a steal at the price range.

A Low Cost Super Wide Lens
I bought this lens for shooting stars and buildings. As this is a super wide lens and only cost several dollars, therefore, I will not compare it with those lenses which costs thousands of dollars. I tried this lens onto D3X directly and A7R via an adapter. Good things are, - It is built quite rigid, and focusing ring is also moving very smooth and with a long distance. - It is a manual focus lens, so, sometimes, you could get much accurate focus... Excellent product
It is a great lens! Super wide with some distortion, but it is expected with the focal length, and considering this it is not bad at all. Good use for this lens would be landscapes and real estate pictures, also timelapses and of course video. The manual focus can be tricky at times, but I believe that I just need a bit more time to get used to it. The lens feels solid and sturdy and the focus ring is super smooth. The lens itself isn't as big as I've expected it to be, so it's always a plus. Overall I consider it a very good and thrifty buy and I look forward to using it in the future.

Great Lens
I've used this lens for over a year now and I can say that the picture quality is fantastic and the wide angle is perfect for tight shots. However this is a manual focus lens and can take quite awhile to focus as the ring has really long throws, another thing to consider is that it's very hefty and make the camera front heavy (2 hands needed) But all in all i would recommend this product for the excellent pictures you get from it

Great lens
What happens if you have an excellent quality lens but it's too expensive? You just remove all the electronics. It's a bit more difficult to use in this fashion and should not be bought by rank amateurs. But now you have a very affordable and.very good lens.

Best bang for the buck!
This is probably the best wide angle lens you can possibly buy for the money. Sure it's not Nikon quality but it sure is not over a thousand dollars either. Using it with a Nikon D750. In my opinion so far, the lens is nice and sharp. Manual focus is a learning curve but I'm overcoming it. There is distortion which is easily fixed in a lens profile easily available online. Overall I'm very pleased with this lens and have received many compliments on my photos that have been taken with it. It's a win-win with this lens. Buy it now and thank me later.

Best lens for the price
It's full manual which takes a while to get used to. Didn't see any distortions in the images. Very clean and sharp images. It has a solid build and durable. Best ultra wide lens for the price.

Awesome Lens!
Don't worry too much about this being an all manual lense. The depth of field shooting at 14mm on a full fame even f 2.8 is really wide, and almost everything is in focus. Just set the focus ring to just back from infinity and go for it. I highly recommend this lense! It's awesome!

Perfect wide angle lens! It's cheap too
This is probably the best and cheapest wide angle I've ever had. And also the widest I have! At first I was kinda unsure about using a pure manual lens. It turns out going manual with landscape is far easier than I thought. I often use the Canon 17-40L and also shoot manual but I have the psychological assurance that I can shoot auto with it. I've taken a lot of great landscape photos with this Rokinon lens. It's worst side effect though is the distortion but it's fixable in LR or Camera Raw. It's hard to find filters that would match this lens though.

Can't beat the cost-benefit
It helps you take amazing shots. Tack sharp images if using it correctly. When you analyze that the cost is about 1/5 of the Brand name ......it's a no brainer getting one. Hope you'll try it first and like the results.

Bang for the Bucks!!!
I caught this baby on sale during Black Friday and it's worth every penny. I'm very happy with how sharp my copy is and please make sure you a comfortable with shooting manually. I believe many people are attracted to the price and how wide this is, but not equipped with the practice to shoot manual. That is one reason why someone would give this lens a low rating. You have to be willing to learn if you're coming from straight autofocus (AF) ever... Show More
