Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens For Nikon with AE Chip

Great Customer Service
I went in knowing I wanted a wide angle fish eye lens and after speaking with the nice people at the Nikon desk, came out with this beautiful lens. No complaints so far. Can't wait to use it more often

Terrific value
very good quality lens for wide angle photography and a good value at this price - I use this lens primarily for night photography (milky way). This lens is manual focus.

Great Night Photos!
If you need eyeglasses, make sure you use them. Otherwise your images will be out of focus. This is a manual focus lens.

Worth every penny!
I wanted an ultra wide lens to use with my D610 and didn't want to fork over three times the price for a similar Nikon model. I never purchased a non Nikon lens and I was a little concerned about the quality and performance. Having read the previous reviews and looking at images taken with the lens I decided to give it a try. This lens is awesome! I am very impressed with the build quality. It's solid and is well balanced on the D610 body. The wi... Show More

Awesome purchase
My only complaint would be that there is a little distortion on the edge of the photos. Nothing that a little photoshop can't fix!

GREAT street lens
Outstanding lens, and when you consider the price, you're getting an amazing deal. I love using this lens for street photography, cityscapes, landscapes, look-ups, etc. Has some distortion but I actually prefer my leading lines to be bent a little. Strongly recommend the AE chip, or you'll be spending a lot of time trying to focus.

Good but not Great
Useful sharpness from f/4. Edges soft until f/5.6. Straight lines near edges have complex distortion (mustache-shaped) which is not correctable. However, this thing is a blast to use and you will get some very unique images. The Canon chip version is absolutely worth it for focus verification. This is not a Canon L lens so do not expect as such.

Excellent!!
This is a really sharp lens, I knew it was sharp but it totally blew me away when I saw the resulting images, this is a great unexpensive lens, the onlylet down as it's been mentioned many times is thelack of autofocus but it's totally worth it, no autofocus is not a deal breaker for me.

Great Little Lens
This is lighter, smaller and pretty close to as sharp as nikon's 14-24. Using exclusively manual focus is a bit of a steep learning curve, but for 1/5 the price this lense is a great deal. Solid construction and easy to use. Also worth noting, great job on customer service bh, incredibly fast shipping. I'll be ordering from you again.

Great lens but can't attach regular filters
This is manual focus lens but has the AE chip so using view finder its easy to focus. I would suggest taking multiple shots just in-case focus is not correct. I used it with my D750 and its giving me amazing results. I'm giving it 4 star only because I can't attach regular filters as the hood is not detachable.

Wonderful Tool for Astrophotography!
I have enjoyed using this lens for several subjects, but I bought it primarily for astrophotography. I am learning the subject, and this lens is a great way to jump in... Not expensive, great image quality, and easy to learn. I was a bit concerned as I have never used a manual focus lens, but it was fairly easy to learn, and now it is becoming second nature. This lens grabs lots of light quickly, and easily. Stars are sharp at F2.8... don't even ... Show More

Remember folks, manual only. That being said, beautiful results for the scenarios where it's needed: Indoor group shots (remember not to have people at the very edges of your frame - have some space) when you don't have a lot of room.

Fantastic Lens!
This is a phenomenal lens! I use it primarily for astrophotography and it works perfectly for that as well as other things I've used it for.

Affordable Wide angle but a bit soft
Wonderful infinity shots of landscapes and astrophotography, while macro close ups take a lot of attention to manual focus with an eye piece only. Those with screen preview on their DSLR's may find it a bit easier, but shots are soft on the sharpness if you are even a little bit out of focus. This is a manual focus lens though, so it can take some time getting used to. Focus knob has a lot of room for micro adjustment which means a tripod in most... Show More

Great lens, but wide micro focus
I bought this lens mainly for night star shots but find myself experimenting with it the way one would use a normal lens. For wide angle it has, in my opinion, very little distortion of you choose your angles correctly, and when shooting raw is much easier to remove in post than you might think. My camera is a Nikon D60, and I find that pretty much every lens I own is a bit soft if not lit properly and getting that focus just right, and with a ma... Show More

Its good
The lens produces great shots and is a good place to start if you broke the bank buying the full frame camera. Some things I did not realize in my excitement to purchase a compatible lens for my new full frame camera - this lens is a prime lens and it features an aperture ring to adjust the aperture. Weird, different but not bad. Its all a learning experience for me, and this is a good lesson and the lens will serve me well till i can afford the canon tilt shift :)

Solid lens
Ultra Wide and very sharp. Heavy well built lens. Like the included lens cap. Old school manual focus. Which is actually kind of interesting. Manual exposure too. A bit hard to focus when it's in dim light. Makes you appreciate automatic focus even more. Good value specialty lens. Real estate and Astrophotography being the ways I use it.

More versatile than I expected great lens
I'm a novice and needed a wide angle lens for traveling to see the northern lights. I understand that many use this for night sky photography which was helpful to know, and the review by Relocated was helpful to me in choosing this lens (and I can now substantiate their review as true for me also). I have a Pentax K50 and I found that I used this lens for many interior shots as well as at the arctic circle over my holidays. Highly recommend.

Wide prime for Canon EOS
Start to use it for real estate photography. Lens is extremely sharp. If you experienced with manual focus its pleasure to use. Give very attractive point of view with easily fix distortion.Highly recommend to friends

Nice and Wide
I bought mainly for night sky, its fairly hard to focus at night on a star, and you must use live view and zoom to do it, but once done I marked lens with a mark in the infinity range to get close enough to fine tune easier, and has a little coma in left and in corners at least on my copy, but a nice lens for the price, renders pretty good colors without too much distortion for landscapes, I am using on an APC sensor, 18MM or so equiv, I cant comment how wide this would be on FF or the resulting images

very good lens, it works as expected, 2.8 is not so much useful, but little step down and it is amazing, sharp and vivid.
