Sony ECM-GZ1M Zoom Microphone slipped right onto the hot shoe of my Sony DSC-HX50V camera with no external connectors to complicate the installation. The foam sleeve provided to mitigate wind noise fit snugly and worked well, but read the instructions because it would be easy to tear the sleeve if the correct technique is not used.

I've used this on a Sony RX10 Mark II and a FDR-AX53 camcorder, and it has produced very good results with better reach than the built-in mics on the respective cams. This should work on any Sony prouct with a multi-interface shoe.

Finally a way to add better sound quality to my a6000's videos. There is no jack for an external mic connection to my Sony a6000 so this streamlined mic does not need that. Once it sits in/on the multi purpose shoe you are in business.

It is small. It is a mic. It is something you can carry with you everywhere and it gets you results. For the price it is great little carry mic. Love that I don't need any cords.

Really great mic easy and really hones in on whats exactly in front of it. It uses the cameras power too which is great. No batteries needed. It's just a little pricier than it should be.

Lo compr para usarlo en una sony a6000 y da muy buenos resultados aunque solo se puede usar en modo GUN. La calidad de construccion es muy buena y el sonido muy limpio. La proteccion que trae corta muy bien el viento, siempre se la deja puesta. No not que consuma mucho la bateria. Muy recomendable.

I was really excited to use my new mic on my Montana trip this last week and would have LOVED to be able to write a review saying why I did or didn't like my new mic but.... My new mic only lasted less than 1 hour before it somehow fell off and I didn't notice.....We searched for hours with no luck on finding the missing investment.. I'm not sure how it came off but to say I was disappointed that it was lost in under an hour and I never even got to use it is an understatement. Things happen, I should have paid better attention and made sure it was more secure I guess. Disappointing lesson learned. I'll probably order another one sometime to see how it does. ... More
