Great Quality & fit with Sony A9 & A7R3

Solid camera bracket
Using the attachment screw, the bracket fits snuggly onto the camera. Unlike the single plate mount of older tripods, this bracket holds the camera securely keeping it from rotating in the portrait mode tripod attitude.

Snug fit
Fits like a glove and rock solid. Only wish I could mount a Spider Holster Stud to the plate alone instead of using Spider Clamp, but clamp works fine too.

Phenomenal
I believe they've actually updated the product from the thumbnail one in this product description. The only difference being an updated "RRS" logo on the front, rather than the outdated and rather long, "Really Right Stuff" as seen in the picture. They also added an additional smaller hex key that is magnetized to the side as well. Everything you need is included, easy to install, fits perfectly, and has no slop. It really feels solid and feels just like its part of the camera body.

NO accessory thread to screw in your strap connector!
I was shocked to find this L-bracket has no accessory thread to screw in your connector for the camera strap. I've used a Black Rapid strap for 6 years, the same one and the connector attached nicely to the accessory thread on the RRS L brackets for both my 20D & the 5DM3. So basically, you can't thread anything into the bottom of the L-bracket to carry the camera around on your shoulder. You have to use a less professional/convenient method. The... Show More

does not fit arca swiss
BH have denied the return of my L plate. Whilst itself is a great looking product , it does not fit the Arca Swiss monofix d4 head. I threw out the packaging before realising the L plate dovetail didnt fit and BH have decide to not honor this product return which is absolutely disgraceful. I spend thousands at this store as a professional and I am shocked at this decision. I hope some of you read this with Arca swiss heads and DO NOT buy this.

magnet loose
I had 2 other RRS baseplates before and they work great. But this one had its magnet (that holds in the allan key) loose, and it falls out whenever I pull on the allan key.

Works fine
The L-Plate comes in two pieces, one is the base plate that goes on the bottom, and the other one is the L-addon that covers the sides. My main issue is that the screw for the L-addon completely covers the screw that secures the baseplate to the camera, so in order to take the bracket off my camera, I need to unscrew the L-addon, and then remove the base plate.

Excellent product
Before I bought this I used a generic L-Bracket for my OM-D E-M1 mkII which was ok - or so I thought. But once I had this L-Plate Set it became very, very clear that I was missing out big time. This bracket fits like glove, is easy to install, has some well-thought features (like possibility to tilt the screen using the break in the bracket) and so on. Yes, it's expensive for an L-Bracket but it is worth every cent!

I love to use the Really Right Stuff products. The base plate for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II makes it mounting on a tripod extremely easy. It also gives you peace of mind that is it securely attached to it.

Rubber Gasket Issue
While having to reposition the battery door from the camera itself to the actual L-bracket was a one time minor annoyance, I came away disappointed that the rubber gasket was squished after a couple of weeks and has not been broken off after months of use. It was meant to be a waterproofing feature for the rubber gasket but rather poorly designed and not tested to last. a first for me to be disappointed with RRS having bought a number of products before.

Works just as it should
This L-plate works as it should. Perfect fit and easy handling. The required hex wrench is included and even stored in the bottom of the plate so you always have it handy.

Quality - light but strong
As usual, RRS has nailed it for this bracket. It is light and does not throw off the cameras's natural balance and maneuverability. Access to all knobs, buttons and ports is there.

Perfect Tripod Mount for X1D
As with everything RRS does, this L-plate is excellent -- superbly built and well-designed. It provides good access to the battery and SD card compartments on the X1D and I really appreciated the inclusion of a magnetized slot for the locking key -- a critical piece that is always on hand and unlikely to get lost with this set-up.

L Bracket for the XT-2 Works Great
Like other RRS L brackets I've owned this one does what it was designed to do. With the supplied hex wrench adjusting the L portion of the bracket takes only seconds. Fits perfectly and secures tightly.

Well Made, Added Protection & Weight
Very well made, gives some added protection to the left side of camera body in case to a drop of fall. Also noticed some added weight to the camera with the vertical grip and L-plate together to keep in mind.

I had talked about getting an L-Plate for years. Finally got around to it. It makes it so much easier to go from horizontal to vertical and is so much more stable on the ball head. Can't wait to start using it.

Works almost perfectly...
Fits like a glove...but one has to fidget with the SD card door to get it to open fully (unlatch, partially open, push in a bit, swivel, and then fully open). You can fairly easily push the SD cards in and out, but if your fingers are mid-to-large in size it won't be easy to pull out the cards - I have to partially move it out with my fingernail from the side (using the SD card notch - hopefully those won't be removed in the future) and then pull... Excellent product but a bit expensive
This is an excellent product. It is a perfect fit for the camera, the battery door attaches to it easily and makes access to the battery easy while retaining the weather seal, and the allen wrench is held in place with a magnet which makes it easy to access. I like that the side can be moved out to make more room to attach cables, although there is sufficient room for what I do. It is a bit expensive but is an excellent product.

GET ONE YOU'LL LIKE IT.
As one user advised on how to removed the SD card - it works. No need to remove the L plate to Remove/Installl the ND card.Here's how open the SD door but it will not open all the way because the L plate. Push the door about 30 degrees toward the camera then forward until it clears the plate and the door is now fully open to access the card. Do the reverse to close the door.
