Tons of storage for not a lot of money
Just received it, (took 2 weeks to NZ!!) and got it connected, formatted, and put to work. So far so good. Always good value from B&H. Delivery time could be improved I think!

Good drive
You can get a seagate for cheaper with extra USB ports but they fail a lot. I bought 20 WD and 3 seagate drives over the years. 2 seagates failed. All WD drives still running.

Solid performance and quality
We have several WD external HDs that I use for backing up internal HD's and the OS and apps. They have all served us well. So when we needed another one, we again chose WD.

Very good external drive
I have been buying WD external drives for years and have never had a problem with any of them. This one is the largest TB drive I've gotten, and it functions beautifully.

WD 4TB My Book

No instructions
Box says contents: Hard drive, various software, cable, adapter, and install guide. No software or install guide in box. Had to search web site to find info and software.

System backups
We have been using MyBook 4T drives for our network backups for 3 years with no issues. We have out grown the 4T so we moved to the 8T. So far they are just as reliable.

Failed after 6 months
I used it as one of my main backups for photographs and it just failed after few months. Extremely frustrating as I have lost 2 years of business and personal photos.

Good Storage Solution
I couldn't write to the drive the first few times I connected it to my laptop, but then it started working. Never found out what the problem was. Works fine now.

Excellent value TBs/$
Great for storing my photos. Seemed slow to migrate all my files but I may not have used the best method. Wiped out the included software when I reformatted it.

Manufacturing defects
Received two defective units in a row, third was a Seagate, works works great and is much quieter than my WD drives, western digital is not what it once was.

This is the best external hard disk by far on the market today. Don't bother with Seagate, this is the one to get and BH PhotoVideo is the place to get it!

Linux friendly drive
Drive comes with software for managing it on Windows and (I think) Apple, but I deleted the partition(s), threw a BTRFS on it, and it was happy as a clam.

Good package but very noisy
Good price and specs in a solid package. The main issue is that it is a very noisy drive. Bought it to backup videos and images, so it does the job well.

Works fine right now

Set-up was quick. Runs smoothly, no problems. I wish the newer model had an indicator light, like the older version to let you know that it is running.

Great for the office
