Adequate
Light weight, movements are not smooth. Would have like to have it collapse further for when taken on trips which is why I bought this. Good value though.

Good tripod
Sturdy but light weight. Easy to transport and has a built in quick release. Much nicer than I expected for the price.

Wow
I was SO nervous to get this tripod. I suddenly landed a huge photo job and needed a tripod yesterday. I read review after review on this tripod- some were glowing, others were dreadful. I was going to be shooting with a Canon 6D and 70-200 2.8, which is a heavy pair. I also had to shoot portrait so the tripod would have to have that weight on one side. But it had everything I needed for the job so I gave it a chance. LOVE IT. I had my heavy camera & lens with a portrait set up for 6 hours straight. Not a single issue. With such a low price, you really cant beat this tripod.

Pan handle attached to the left?
I bought 3 of these for my high school TV Production program to use with some small canon vixias. I've been happy with Sunpak in the past and usually find them convenient to use with beginning TV Production students. I was surprised to see the pan handle on the left side, rather than the right. At first I thought that maybe they were standard like this now but after watching some people showing the same model on Youtube, I think maybe this is fla... Show More

Perfectly good for smaller cameras and lenses
I was looking for a simple, inexpensive but functional tripod to hold a Canon T7I with a 18-135 lens for some basic (static) video recording and occasional long-exposure photographs. So in that respect, this tripod meets all those goals - all the usual locking mechanisms and generally well-built for a mostly-plastic unit. The mounting hinge on the head is not perfectly horizontal, but seems to settle in with the weight of the camera. The main sha... Show More

This is only good for left handed users
I made the mistake of not examining the product photo closely enough! All the controls are on the opposite side of where they are on a normal tripod. Other than that, this tripod is actually really, really nice for the price! Bummer..

I would recomend this item.
Most bang for your buck budget tripod. I bought this with the intent of using it a lot and when it needs to be replaced I will know more about what I might buy next.

Excellent, very stout, very light.
I was concerned initially because this tripod is VERY light, but after setting it up and hanging my K-1 with the battery grip and a big zoom on it all concern vanished. This thing is very strong and very stiff. I can't imagine a lightweight tripod being any stronger that this one. Good stuff. 8^)

Better than I expected
Strong and sturdy. Came with a bag. Have had no issues using this for Olympus PEN and zoom lenses. Pans and tilts well. Provision of two quick release base plates is helpful too.

Good medium-duty tripod
This was purchased for medium-duty use supporting a small video camera by elementary school children and their teachers. For that, it appears to be well-suited. The reasonable cost makes it an expendable item. The tripod head and virtually all components except for the legs are plastic, so this would not be a good choice for commercial or industrial use. However, in trial runs, it performed well and functioned smoothly. The head has separate cont... Show More

Works perfectly!
It appears to be a little short for a stormtrooper, bu it rolls up to the desired height easily, and it keeps the camera really steady! Excellent value!

Not safe
I really don't know why this product has so many positive reviews. I've bought cheap tripods before and they were at least somewhat reliable. This one is seriously dangerous. If I just pull up on the camera once it's secure it comes off. My camera has also fallen off of this tripod and my lens broke. Who knows, maybe I got one that was slightly defective, but in any case, I seriously don't recommend buying this product.

professional doc filmmaker/photographer good purchase
-Lightweight, but sturdy enough to hold my gear without need for concern (canon 5D mark iii w various lenses) -Condenses to be quite small and very portable! Good price and a total steal - would buy again

Bang for the buck!
It may be heavy and bulky, but that's not an issue. I got this to shot photos for my Etsy store and it works great. Very sturdy with no shake and even came with a second mount so I can use my other camera to shoot video on the same tripod. For the low price I was expecting something flimsy. Instead it's something you could likely kick down the stairs and it would still work just fine. The controls are not the smoothest, but I'm not shooting moving video, just straight on shots. Works great!

Recommended quick release plate DOES NOT Work!
Don't order the recommended accessories quick release plate (the one with the cork on top). It doesn't fit. SU5858D is the correct one. I learned this the hard way!

Well priced and reliable
I've found this very useful for travelling, as it is very lightweight and is easy to carry. The legs are sturdy, and is very stable. The only issue I have is with the plastic used on the top section, but that's to be expected at this price point. Overall, astounding value for money.

I use the stand for my detailing business to take before and after photos. It's small and light, so it's easy to move around.

Great value, stable and lightweight
I wanted a good lightweight tripod for my new :D7100 with 300mm lens, and didn't want to spend more than I needed to. I'm sure therer are much better solutions out there, but I'm also sure they will cost considerably more. Great value for the price. Seems well-constructed and holds the gear solidly. Wish it didn't have so many plastic parts, but that's to be exoected at this price. The carrying case is pretty flimsy plastic, and will probably not last that long. But overall, very happy with this.

excellent value
I purchased this tripod to take product photography with my Canon EOS Rebel T5i. The tripod is easy to use and sturdy enough. I am very happy with this purchase, especially for the price. I would not take this with me camping or hiking unless I was within close proximity to the car. It is a little heavy for that! Otherwise, it's great!

Sturdy tripod
Tripod is a little larger than expected but still portable. More than sturdy enough for my SL1 and 70-300 lens. Recommended.
