Good value here
I don't have a lot of tripod experience, but I really like this one so far. It's easy to set up and fold down, and the quick-release works fine for me. It has been sturdy with my DSLR wherever I've used it. The spiked feet are pretty cool! This tripod replaces a flimsy one that cost more -- I'm very happy with this purchase. BTW, check when ordering whether it comes with a bag; mine did.

Great for the Price
I use it at home to hold my camera for webcasts. It gets the job done for what I need it for. Obviously it doesn't have the bells and whistles or craftsmanship of substantially expensive tripods. It is good for a beginner or someone who is just getting ankle deep into photography. One dislike is that the lever to raise and lower is very cheap and not that smooth. But again, for the price it meets all of my expectations.

Very Stable and Looks Good
This tripod is very stable, and looks really good and professional. I highly recommend this. **Comes with an extra quick release snap-in** for your second camera. Also comes with a carrying case. You are all set.

Quality for the Price
This is a very high quality product for the price. I've always scrounged around on the bottom end of the tripod price spectrum so I know what the 30 dollar market brings. Mostly junk. This is the first tripod I've bought that his impressed me with it's build quality. The only downside is the crank for the telescoping part at the top is really difficult to use and feels like it may break someday. Thankfully I don't go up and down very often so it ... Show More

Cheap, but effective
It's easy to use- love the 2 different leveling functions, which make sure the camera is level, the extensions, & how light it is - and it's dirt cheap. What more could you ask?

Worked Well
I needed a tripod that was light enough to carry around but sturdy enough that I didn't feel that it would fall apart right away, but also one that I could, as a student, afford. This is it! The head turns smoothly, the tilt head has a level on it, and an extra tilt head comes with the deal (which is awesome if you have a tendency to misplace things or have multiple cameras)

Great deal for the money
I have a mirror-less four thirds camera and I have it set up in my studio for photographing artwork. I needed a sturdy inexpensive tripod. I could not believe the price on this and when I got it home I was very impressed by it's sturdiness. It was less expensive and stronger than a lot of the used tripods I was looking at. I'm very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Works for me! Sturdy & full height.
This is/was a good replacement for my crummy old 1970's era hand-me-down tripod. It is much lighter than my old one, but has many bells & whistles that my old one didn't have, including the two levels, the center post (with locking brace for the three legs), combo rubber/spiked feet, quick release plate, and even a place to attach a center weight (although I am quite sure that *I* will never use that). I'm no expert (just a very advance amateur) ... Show More

Good solid tripod
This tripod is much sturdier than other less expensive models I've used in the past, and is not that expensive. The quick release lever seems a little stiff, but it holds the camera securely without slipping. I just upgraded from a smaller camera to a Canon EOS 3ti, and it's sturdy enough to hold it well. The tripod is also a bit larger and heavier than the cheaper models, but is not uncomfortable to carry around on a photo walk. It has a fairly ... Show More

Way too heavy
I purchased without looking first and deeply regretted it. It's way too heavy to carry. Have never used it and probably wont. I tried to return it, but I didn't have the original box. Good thing it wasn't expensive.

Good Value
Very sturdy tripod- not really a lightweight, but it is very stable and is just what I wanted

Sturdy and very useable
I will use this as a vacation tripod for scenic video and as a self portriate platform for my digital SLR. It will serve well for those purposes, especially with the 2nd camera-base lock which will allow exchanging cameras with ease. This is not a $600 fluid head but it has an easy adjustable drag feature that allows panning or following moving tallent. I would reccomend it as a great value in its price range. Hoot, Yakima, WA

looks good
Looks good, seems solid, even though it's light weight, and seems to do everything I need, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Exceeds expectations!
This tripod is light, though very sturdy and easy to set up. I use it with a Cannon EOS Rebel T1i (500D) and it hold its weight with a 55mm - 250mm lens no problem. I use it to take group photos inside as well as outside and also landscape photos. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent tripod!
I've used it for sports and landscape shots so far. I like the 2 quick release plates that come with it. It folds up very small and it's light-weight. Smooth panning for video, too!

IT DOES SUPPORT HEAVY Spotting Scopes
I own a Konus 20-60x100mm spotting scope ( 6 lbs). Could not find a reasonably priced tripod under $ 300 Took a chance and ordered this 8001UT. It held the scope in an angular position for 48 hrs. IT is not studio quality but it does work in the field. All Konus Spotting scope owners should order this tripod.

Love it so far
I have used the tripod serveral times now since buying it. It is light weight and easy to set up. Supports my camera with flash no problem. I use it all the time for my photo projects.

Great
Great tripod for the money. Only thing I don't really like is that leveling ball is covered up when mounted to the camera. Other than that it's definitely worth the price..

8001UT Tripod with 3-Way Pan / Tilt Head
Everything that I expected. I use the tripod for a spotting scope that sits lakeside on my deck. I can see anything on the lake out to a mile. The extra mounting plate that is included is on my digital camera so I can sway the scope out and snap in the camera in seconds. Height, left to right, and tilt adjustments are handy and easy to operate. I love this inexpensive tripod!

Great value!
For backpacking or casual use, this inexpensive, lightweight tripod can't be beat! Individually adjustable legs make it ideal to set up on uneven ground and it has a maximum height which is comfortable for most folks. Additionally, there is a bubble level for more precise work. While this tripod will never replace a professional tripod such as a Bogen or Manfrotto, for the price it is ideal for the student photographer or for times that you are u... Show More

Great tripod for the price
This tripod is a fantastic value as long as you dont have a heavy camera. The tripod itself is not much heavier than the cheaper model. its sturdy and close to eye level without extending the center bar. it also comes with a second camera mount incase youre prone to loosing them. It also has a built in level which is perhaps the best feature since most low end tripods do not include one.
