Great Printer
Wow! Prints that look like my image capture for the first time. Really high quality results. My only complaint is with the lack of instructions on getting the included Print Studio Pro to recognize the driver. The only way to get it to work is to use a USB cable install instead of a wifi connection. And that is never stated anywhere. Once it is working the Print Studio Pro is great, also. Very user friendly and straightforward.

Hats off to Canon on the Pro 1000!
Of all the printers I have owned, including by Canon, this is the greatest performer I have every had the pleasure of making a print on. With no screen calibration on a new iMac, and without major tweaking of the printer driver and Photoshop settings, my very first print was actually stunning, and it looked identical to the image on the screen. I have never been able to achieve this in the past. Bravo! Canon!

excellent alternative to the p800
I have been a long time Epson user but when my 3880 finally broke, I did a lot of research to determine whether to by a P80 0or try the prograf. Very glad I chose the Canon. I am impressed with its build quality print quality ease of use, and ease of set up. In particular, I have found printing using their plug in for light room has been accurate and easy to use. Overall, highly recommended

YES
Great all the way around. More inks and they last a lot longer than Epson. This is the little printer that can. Have just started testing it and so far we're happy. We have the IPF8400 for larger images and have been very happy with it, no problems in over 4 years! No clogs, no waste of ink on start up, inks go a lot farther, so here's hoping this little mighty mite will do just as well.

Outstanding quality and ease of use.
I finally decided to take the plunge and do my own printing. There is nothing like the feeling of holding a print in your hand. I dont care how good your monitor is - a backlit image is nothing like the reflected light of a print. If you really want to learn how to get the best out of this printer check out Robert Rodriguezs Printmaker Masterclass and save yourself a lot of frustration.

Love this Printer
After struggling with my Epson 7900 with the umpteenth clogged head I decided to go for the Canon. Out of the box, the setup was extremely simple. My first few prints in both color and B&W were spot on using the printer's own color management. What was on the screen came out of the printer. So far, I have only used the pro-lustre paper and am anxious to start using other papers as well.

One great printer with outstanding support
Have had this printer for about 6 mos and am blown away by the prints. Detail in the shadows/deep blacks, depth of color, etc. are amazing - have printed everything from 5x7 to 17x22 and my clients (and me) are thrilled with the quality. Had an issue that required support from Canon, and they too were very responsive and more than fair in how they handled the issue. Highly recommended!

Gets the Job Done!
This printer makes quality prints. I needed a new printer to replace my Epson 3880. I originally purchased an Epson P-800 but had nothing but problems with it. One of the associates in the Printer Dept. at B&H suggested that I get this printer. I'm glad he did. I'm very impressed with it. It prints faster than the Epson. The only negative is that it goes through ink very quickly.

by far the worst printer I have owned
It uses much to much ink, the software is the worst, lots of noise not much action. I have own it for a little more than a year. The pictures when they work are very good, but you have better have a lot of time on your hands, because it takes forever to power up, you have to run the maintenance when the colors are not right. The printers web page makes little sense.

Great for those that don't print constantly
I bought this model over other Canon models specifically because it was supposed to not have ink problems if you don't print multiple times a week. Well, I let my printer sit unused for about 10 weeks and it actually did just like it was supposed to do! The first print that came through was perfect. No clogged nozzles, no lost ink cleaning them. I love this printer!

Professional results in studio
I have been using the PRO-1000 for 5 weeks now and love it. I have not had any serious ink waste situations and I love using the printer. It opens up new worlds of customization and flexibility that I never had when I would order prints on line. The ability to experiment with different paper types is a blast. Ill check back in in a few months to update perhaps.

Great Product
Setup was easy , just watch the Youtube demo. The only problem i had is is getting the printer and my photo program to print the same size other than that the prints are amazing. The 17x22 prints are like artwork. i will get used to all the settings as i use it more, but this printer is just the ticket for a amature photographer to make his work look fantastic.

Love it!
I've been eyeing this product for a year and finally took the plunge and splurged for Christmas. I love it. I've never owned a photo printer before, and this has upped my game. It's really impossible to tell from the computer screen whether or not your image and/or retouching is what your final vision will be. But printing is amazing! Smooth and quiet.

Excellent print quality
After having this for over 2 weeks I can say the print quality is excellent! Setting up the printer takes some time, but it is super easy. I compared side by side prints (lab vs printer) and felt the printer was better. It will be cheaper in the long run, but it may take a couple months to recover the initial cost. Well worth it for larger prints.

Very impressive results!
I've only made a few prints so far, several 8.5x11s, one 7x20" pano, and a 17x22" print that is quite nice. My own previous photo printer was an Epson 2200, but I've used a number of large format printers at work. This one is as good as the best I've seen. I love the vacuum feature, and that I can get great results using printer-managed color.

Great printer, cheap to run
I bought this printer to replace an Epson P5100 that died after 14 months. While this is not quite the production machine that the Epson is, it is way quieter way less determined to waste as much ink as it possibly can. This machine uses amazingly little ink and handles all kinds of substrates with ease. Love it. Will never own another Epson.

Excellent Resolution
Thought I'd share a hard fact about the printer's resolution. Just printed my first large photo (15x21 inch), a 36 mPix shot of the lighthouse on Desert Island, ME. On the photo a 3/16 inch object appears, being a three foot sign at 300 feet. On it you can clearly read, US Property, No Trespassing. I think I'll keep the printer.

Awesome printer, would buy again
The only issue I had with setting this printer up was it got caught in a loop. It kept asking me to put in three more sheets of paper when doing print head alignment. It wasted lots of paper and ink. It was a simple fix and Canon tech support handled it very well. The printer makes awesome prints and am glad I purchased it.

What Canon Won't Tell You
Canon will not tell you the native resolution of this printer. The only way to see how well the driver up samples/down samples your image is to waste paper and ink doing test prints. A wasteful step that can be avoided in Photoshop if they would give you the information. I recommend not buying this printer.

Top quality for at home printing
I am speechless as to the quality of performance from this printer. I am an amateur photographer and travel all over the U.S. for work. I have been able to print my own work as if it was professional, side by side comparison I think my prints look better than taking the and having them done professionally.

Love it
I have only done a little bit of printing with it so far, but every print is spot on and beautiful. So far it has been super easy to use. I have been printing a calibrated monitor from adobe Lightroom with manufacture paper profiles (Moab and Hahnemuhle paper) and everything looks phenomenal! Love it!

Amazing ( ex Epson P800 owner )
The Pro 1000 is an amazing printer. Imho it out performs the Epson Surecolor line by a small but noticeable degree. The technology and attention to detail in the printer is WAY more advanced than the p800. They are all great printers but Canon has real nice product on their hands with this one.

Ink @ $60 X 12
Do to the fact that the printer has to preload ink, and after printing a few prints the level is hovering at the half full mark. How bout 1/2 price on your first order. When ordering Pro 100 ink #42 ink from Canon, you will receive free photo paper, with this printer nothing, Thank you, Canon.

I would buy this product again!
I had the Canon 9500 for about ten years. It was terrific, but alas it died two weeks ago. So I had to replace it. I wanted to stay with the Canon line of printers. This printer was a little pricey, but I bought it anyway. It makes the 9500 seem inadequate and lacking REAL definition.
