Simple, Cost Effective Back-Up
I do video and have been buying internal hard drives to mount in a dock for backup purposes. The problem is that one has to develop a routine for backing up...Loss of a video project would be catastrophic; I found the Passport to be a simple, cost-effective solution. As usual BH's service was great!

Good service and product
Basically it is a backup of the most important things so that I have my whole office and personal stuffs at once with me everywhere (being in the cloud is not an option for me). I like very much the WD line but I am not very happy with the connector. It is fragile and you very fast a bad connection.

Great external hard drive
I needed a large, external storage device to hold data for research. I purchased the My Passport portable hard drive because it got good reviews on several tech websites. I am not disappointed. It is a no-frills, easy to use device and transfer times are relatively quick. I also love all the colors!

No problems
I got my 250G .My Passport USB portable hard several years ago and never had a single problem with it; so, when I found I needed more storage space, I got another My Passport Brand product - WD 4TB My Passport USB 30 Secure Portable Hard Drive. I could not be happier with my choice - in every way.

B&H performance is great.
B&H did great job, as usual. Proper product, shipped quickly. Only problem was they used USPS for shipment. USPS went from NY to NJ to Sacramento CA then to TX, therefore package arrived late - not fault of B&H. Only the USPS can figure out why the shortest route from NY to TX doesn't do through CA

No wifi, better wait for a better product
Sleak design and it does what it supposed to do; however, is not wireless. 3 stars because it works fine with macbook, but i'm still wired to it. As a side note: I bought the WD wifi drive but the software and connectivity is terrible. Also bought Lacie Fuel, and that one is a total fail, avoid.

Portable WD Hard Drive
I really like my WD My Passport drives. They are small and fit right on my desk without taking up much room. Also, the USB connection to the computer is the power source so no need for plugs. I like to store my backup files in my bank's safe deposit box and these drives hardly take up any room.

Not Found on El Capitan Retina 2015
Prime use for Photo / Video. This drive is randomly detected by OS X El Capitan, 2015, Retina Macbook Pro. The same issue on two MACs. Once ejected and reconnected, the OS does not find it via self powered USB hub or via MAC's direct USB ports. Was lucky to move data out. Disappointed by WD.

Easy to install
This was my 2nd WD My Passport portable hard drive. I had been using one for two years for backing up my desktop computer. The latest one is for storing my burgeoning files of photos. Now, I'm thinking of getting a third My Passport to use for photography while I'm traveling with my laptop.

WD Portable at a great price
WD products in general are pretty reliable, excepting a series of Red NAS drives I encountered which I understand experienced some production problems. This is a handy, speedy USB 3 portable at a great price that so far is humming along nicely. The blue case makes it hard to misplace.

Great Product
When I started looking for an external hard drive I needed one that would hold a lot of memory because I'm a part time photographer. The 4TB was just what I was looking for. Great price. The first back up took a long time but I was expecting that. After that the back ups are fast.

So far .... excellent!
Since my 2TB Seagate crashed on a trip ... with lots of photos ... I decided to buy 2 of the 1TB size ... and make my photos are always backed up. So far ... the WD external HD's are working and saving photo files ... but ALL hard drives can fail ... make sure you have a back up!

I will probably purchase another one
I backup ALL of my image files on external hard drives. Two for rotating monthly through a safety deposit box at my bank, One with me when I am traveling. This Passport goes with me when I am traveling. It is compact, relatively fast with USB 3 and does not require a power brick.

Rugged build for travel
It was shipped in a large box that could have held a dozen without padding and must have rattled extensively, but it fired off like a charm. (Alas, not from B&H) I have several Passport an My Book drives and they are fast enough for my needs and have been reliable over the years.

It Works Just Fine
I use this drive and another external drive for duplicate backups of my MacBook Pro using Time Machine. Also use this to backup extensive photography files. It is not fast enough to use as a external work drive (I use an SSD for that) but it is just fine for backing up my stuff.

Honors the WD name
A large amount of storage in a small package. And until SSD storage units come way down in price, this is what I will be using. Im really glad it is small as well. The older, larger units take up so much space that storage became a problem. The smaller size solves that problem.

Delicious
I ordered 4 of these 4TB drives. I can usually eat 4 or 5, 2TB drives. However, these 4TB drives really filled me up. I couldnt even finish eating three. Delicious blueberry flavor. I also like the orange and vanilla flavored drives. Cant wait for WD to come out with organic.

Awesome speed, great price for 4TB.
This drive is awesome, you just can't beat 4TB, especially at the price from B&H. The lowest price around. I use it for back up huge amount of family pictures from my laptop. The speed is great. I will eventually get another drive to back up this drive for safety reasons.

Best Value
Best value for $/TB on the market. I love that it does not require AC power and can just be plugged into the usb slot. I own 5 of these and have never had a problem yet. I just wish it came with a USB Type C connector so that I would not have to purchase that separately.

I would buy this product again
This performs very well. Used for back-ups to store offsite so the small size comes in handy. I don't use much of the software that comes with the drive so can't comment on that. I have several other WD drives, performance and reliability have never been a problem.

Great drive for good value
I use the product for external storage of my photo library and iTunes library. Before I used the 2GB version for a couple of years and I use 2 others too. Very reliable drive. Good strong cable and connector too I find. I have been travelling with it quite a bit.

Physically Larger Than Expected
It was a little larger than I had hoped, especially because I own multiple other WD drives. I didn't check the dimensions expecting them to be around the same size, so that's on me to not check the size. Overall, it works right out of the box, so good enough.

Have owned 3, 1 failed.
Bought three of these. One failed pretty quickly. Called WD, and they were no help at all - it was as if they were a third third party and the product had been made by someone else. These drives are inexpensive, and that's nice, but I'd rather have my files.

1TB Passport Power
It was time to buy another portable backup since the last backup I purchased 5-years. It was WD 500GB portable hard drive and is still working strong. However, now my music and picture collection has grown so the 1TB is perfect for storage. HIghly recommend!
