Just what I needed!

Feb 17, 2015

I'm not really a professional photographer but I shoot a lot of small projects for my blog and life. I love that this tripod is so light and easy to carry. I also like the height. I can leave it up in my house and shoot random things at low light that I normally wouldn't even try to catch. Worked great for a family portrait in front of a birthday cake with low light. There are a lot of clips to flip so I imagine someone, who needs to set up and take down regularly, might find them tedious but for me it's fine.

Great Hiking Tripod

Feb 17, 2015

This tripod is high quality, lightweight, and compact, So it's great for casual hiking and biking trips. However, it shouldn't be used with heavy cameras or lenses. I wish it had a level, and I wish it were a little more sturdy. But for a $ Manfrotto tripod it's worth every penny. I chose the Manfrotto compact advanced tripod over the compact action tripod because the last joystick tripod head I had couldn't handle the weight of an SLR, and actually dropped it on a tile floor during a photo shoot. Also, I prefer the independent axis controls for landscape photography.

Compact, lightweight, and stable

Great tripod. I use it to take long exposure shots outside. The tripod is lightweight and packs up small - I can fit it in a tote bag. And it is stable on uneven terrain. I feel my camera is very safe.

Tripod Excellence!

I love the lightweight feature of this tripod - extremely easy to pack and lug around when doing shoots. It's not too bulky and nothing more than you need when paying $. Worth the investment.

Sturdy

Oct 26, 2014

I bought this tripod to use for video interviews. It's sturdy and well built for this price. The material it's made of feels quality. The downside for me is the two separate handles to adjust tilt and pan. Having to adjust two handles made it take longer to set up my shot, and it felt like a hassle. Also, one of the legs sticks a bit when adjusting the height, but its not too bad.

Light but Strong

Oct 10, 2014

Nice tripod for setting up quick shots. It's portable, easy to carry and can hold a 70D with a 100mm Lens. Although it does the job it needs a bit more support and a wider arm to pan.

Turns out to be great.

I have a Manfrotto 501HDV system with the 190 tripod. It's always been great but a little large for traveling. This new one is great for travel. Put in a backpack no problem. I was worried about its stability but turns out to be a great design. I love how easy it is to maneuver.

Great for travel

Sep 28, 2014

I ordered this tripod to take on short trips that do not involve harsh terrains. I love the pan, tilt arm. Makes it easy to move. This tripod meets the needs I have when needing a light weight tripod. It is sturdy enough to hold my 70D and most of my lenses.

Great Choice

Ease of use. Not to heavy. Great entry level tripod. I got it for my daughter she just became the photo editor of the newspaper at her college and she loves it from the white color to how easy it is for her to set up! I may by on for myself as a back up or 2 tripod.

Light yet strong enough

Sep 19, 2014

I needed something light to take backpacking with my already too heavy video camera. This is fairly light and folds down well. I previously tried using a monopole, but find the resulting video still too shakey for my liking. This works and I can finally get a still video picture. My only peeve is it doesn't have a fluid head so panning starts off with a jerk which needs to be edited out later to get to a smooth pan. I would also suggest getting a bubble level to camera mount to get things level.

Love it.

This tripod feels quite sturdy for the money. It works very well with panning and from going horizontal to vertical. I have only had it for a couple of weeks but thus far I am quite happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
