Most of my recent experiences have been on a quiet stage leading worship with in ear monitors so read my review with that in mind. I love this product for my application. For reference, I have used SM58, beta58, blue encore 200, beta87c, and now the KSM8. The blue encore 200 was my go to for a long time because it was the first “good” mic I ever owned and I loved it (still do). It’s a great deal clearer than the SM58. Then I decided I would buy a beta87c for the worship leaders at church. The sounds you can get out of the encore200 and the beta87c are Great but I was noticing Obvious drops in volume and clarity when the worship leader (myself or another leader) would lift his head or turn to the side. The sweet-spot is just so narrow on all our mics. Insert KSM8. The sweet spot on this mic is everywhere. I’ve always been a “mic eater” because I wanted the tone to be consistent. However, with the KSM8 I feel free to just be myself and move around without worrying about the tone or volume dropping out. It is the smoothest, most consistent mic I’ve ever used. The highs are rounded nicely and it’s not boomy. It provides a lot of clarity while still being forgiving enough for live use. Further, the consistency of the massive sweet spot is a dream come true for in ear users. All in all, if you want to have the freedom to really move around while you sing, this mic will afford you that. It’s a marked upgrade. Highly recommended. ... More

This mic is worth every penny! This was a game changer for my live singing. The dynamics are outstanding and with such little effort needed to get you to an awesome vocal performance, it's easily the best investment to take you to the next level.

This is the perfect mic for my voice! I love it! I sing mostly at big concerts and dances, lot of noise on stage, and it's so good. (My husband is also a singer, and his voice has a lot of bass, so he's not as much in love as I am.) Maybe it's better for female voices and high male voices. So if you are a male with a low voice, you're gonna want to try it out first. But for you other singers: This is one of the best!

This microphone is all pros in my book. I'm so impressed with how this microphone can handle dynamics. Whether you're one to stay back and use a more controlled attack or whether you just have to devour a microphone like a ravenous beast, this microphone will handle it. This dual diaphragm microphone allows for the rejection and reduction of the proximity effect, and along with the help of a talented audio engineer, it will reduce instances of microphone overload and keep your performances in check. This mic gives good, full and clear articulation to vocal performances. Well worth the additional price over buying a lower-priced Shure SM58 when you just will not accept any limitations. ... More

This microphones is just problems on top of problems. First of all the mic barely fits in the supplied clip, and the weight of the mic makes it point downwards. After only 2 months of owning it the xlr connecter came out of it and the wires disconnected. If I wasn't able to fix this on my own I would be livid, but thankfully it's just 2 solderpoints. What confounds me is that the xlr connecter is just a press-fit, it doesn't even have a set screw to prevent this type of thing from happening. Poor design on the part of Shure. My advice - just buy an SM58, your wallet will thank you and that thing will never break. ... More

I generally hate my voice. Perhaps the mics I was using hard something to do with that. The Sure KSM8 sounds so good it's boosted my confidence. Warm, clear, even tone. I play semi-loud pop-rock in the Petty/Jayhawks realm with lots of harmonies. I ordered a second KSM8 for small house concerts.

This is one of my favorite handheld mic for live use. Really great rejection and almost no proximity effect. I also use a Telefunken M80 for small rooms( clubs, coffee houses etc) and a Neumann KMS 105 for larger stages. The KMS105 is my favorite but for smaller rooms the KSM 8 comes really close in clearity. It has less low mid bump and clearer top than the M80(still a good mic though). The KSM8 sounds like a condenser mic with all the benefits of a dynamic. Highly recommended!

Received the Shure KSM8 microphone, Auray professional microphone stand, and 30 feet MOGAMI cable from B&H on the promised delivery time. Tested Shure KSM8 microphone and it produced excellent and powerful sound. Love it!

So far, I love this mic. It seems to outshine the other three microphones I own, two of them being Shure mics. I don't give it a five star rating yet, simply because it hasn't been tested out at a live gig. I'm looking at doing that in just a couple of weeks, and anticipate highly favorable results because of it. My musical compadres are coveting this microphone and we're all looking forward to hearing it's true capabilities!

I hate to do a bad review as sound is so subjective. But, I was very excited about this new shure. It looks great and is heary duty. When I got it I really wanted it to sound good. I adjusted compression, and EQ. Had to take a lot of miids out to sound flat. Currently the entire band uses heil pr35 microphones. I used the shure for a few jobs, recorded to get a good idea of the sound. It could not keep up with the fidelity of our Heil microphones. Also although I EQed 4.0K and up totally out and still had high pitched feedback.

This thing sounds incredible. I can see myself using it in the studio, not just live. If the SM58 is your go to default live mic, this thing will blow your mind.

This a great tool for the recording studio. Gives me a new paint brush to get more tones from my sources . Vocals are better without the big bottom that comes with a standard vocal mic.

I cannot say enough good things about this microphone. The cost is well worth the performance. It works well indoors and outdoors.

I use this with little to no EQ other than a hi pass at 100 or so. I see why they use it on AGT

Great mic. Perfect for someone who plays guitar while singing. Nice even tone despite bad mic technique.
