For the price, you can't go wrong

Initially, Polsen sent 1 of these mics to me for a review. As soon as I plugged it in and applied some EQ, compression and other enhancements (I do that on all my mics) I IMMEDIATELY bought 2 more 15 minutes later. As a coincidence, I got a new client who does stand up comedy series shows, about twice a month, every month, and every single episode includes interview with the comedians before I film the show. And that's what I'm using these mics for, primarily. I needed 3 identical mics, and for video, you don't want anything other than black, and their finish is semi-matte black, perfect for video (looks). Also VERY easy to clean. I use 70% rubbing alcohol, applied to a microfiber cloth. nothing to do with COVID. Been doing this for decades and this rate of alcohol does NOT do any damage whatsoever to the finish. In also do the same on all my camera bodies including all my lenses, C-Stands, computer keyboards, lighting equipment, etc. Hygiene and neatness to me is a must! Plus, it's a great fresh new feeling next time you touch your gear. The MC-POD mic is beefy and weighty, and the grilles are solid. It's also a dynamic mic, so, it can withstand a small fall as opposed to condenser mics which are very delicate. but try not to drop a mic!! The way it is, it holds plosives ok but you still need to install a windscreen foam, or a pop filter on them. These foams are inexpensive and do the job. The BH item # is AUWHF158. They make ones that are deeper and covers the entire area but the one I suggested do just fine and cost less than 3 bucks. Or, you can get this instead B&H # AUWCFUB440. The MC-POD mic is also resistant to small shocks, minimizing vibrations if you touch the desk, or stand. Of course you'll hear noise, but it won't blast your speakers or headphones. It's very very minimal. Also, the noise rejection from the sides and back is excellent. I made a test typing on a keyboard while gently speaking, you can barely hear any noise. The link is https://youtu.be/U-c-XWvGezk Now, keep in mind that, the DEVICE you choose to record, also impacts the sound of the mic. A recorder with good preamps is a must. Most DSLR XLR adapters, especially the prosumer ones and, some prosumer cameras with built-in XLR often feature poor preamps, resulting in noise floor and tinny sound. A good and inexpensive recorder that features XLR, about 400 bucks is a Tascam DR-100 MKIII. The Inexpensive, I mean, a device with premium preamps and the DR 100 MKIII is one... And of course, you can go a lot higher in quality by using Sound Devices recorders such as the Sound Devices MixPre-6 II. So, if you hear hiss in the background or anything that's not desirable, it is your recording device. For the price and the sound after post, you can't go wrong with the Polsen MC-POD mic! The Polsen Dynamic Podcast/Broadcast mic has helped transform my at-home setup. I was previously using an older shotgun mic hooked up through a Focusrite using phantom power for my day to day zoom/teams calls. I had a pop filter on it and it took up a pretty good amount of real estate on my desk. For the most part, it sounded really good, until I got this mic and started to do some testing. The feedback I got from others was that this mic had a much richer and fuller sound than my previous setup and some of the other mics I tried against it. For the price point, I'm really pleased with what I get from this mic. I really like that this has a built-in shock mount and pop filter. Eliminating those things from my setup really shrunk it down and I love having the extra space on my desk. The setup was super easy, plug it in. I'm a big fan of it not requiring phantom power. The build quality is also very sturdy, it feels solid. It also has advanced shielding to help filter out some hums or buzzes that you may have in your background. This works pretty well in my testing, I have a dehumidifier and a vent fan and you can't hear them while I'm recording or in a meeting. Overall I'm very happy with this microphone. Great Option for Podcasting, Voiceover or Broadcasting

I've been using this Podcasting Kit for over a month now. The mic looks great on camera and also has a flatter sound that doesn't boom the low end as much as other dynamic mic. I found that it is not as sensitive to plosives (popping sounds you hear from the letter P and B) I like to use a foam pop shield on all of my mics due to my voice over doing the S sounds and a great thing about the MCPOD MIC is how any inexpensive foam pop filter that fits most handheld ball dynamic mics will also fit this mic! The pop shield is not included with this kit. Most will not need one. The broadcast arm is top notch and includes an integrated XLR cable as well as both permanent and temporary mounting options. The headphones are comfortable and the earpieces swivel for off ear audio monitoring (think typical DJ poses) The headphones come with a 1/8 inch plug and a 1/8 to 1/4 inch adapter to work with most audio equipment. The USB to XLR adapter works fine but I did experience some noise in my recording during testing. It was no problem removing this noise in during post processing and it's nice to keep this accessory handy in my go bag when I only have my laptop and no mixer. This kit is a great option if you are starting from scratch or wanting an additional setup from multiple host or guest in your podcast. I have been using this podcasting kit (mic + headphones) for over a month now and I absolutely love it. The mic is fantastic quality and picks up sound perfectly. Headphones fit comfortably and allow me to hear my voice and my guests' at the right level each recording! Would 10/10 recommend. (I received this product in exchange for my honest review.)

I bought this mic a little while ago and I've loved this so much. It sounds great, the mount is great as well, and its plosive rejection is great as well, but I'm using a windscreen though. I paired my mic with a Behringer U-Phoria UM2 and I've loved it ever since, great mic choice for anyone to buy

I'm no more than a hobbyist podcaster but this microphone makes me feel like Howard Stern. My voice sounds richer and generally more professional through the MC-POD. Easy to set up and has an impressive build quality. Love this addition to my studio.
