as soon as I opened this little beast I was thrilled, its round first of all so it made me feel cool! But dang the little guy is heavy, like stout, quality heavy, you know you are holding a well engineered piece of kit! Simple functions, good cord, good tripod and the sound quality...oh my God Becky, the sound quality!

I am not a professional studio musician. I play around at home, and use this mic with Garage Band to record my double bass. It sounds great, and is far better than I was expecting considering the price. There are two things that could be improved upon.. one is that the stand is really dinky. It's strong enough, but it's really small... the mic will tip easily if it's bumped, and it's really too short to do anything with. The other thing is that the input level was lower than I was expecting. Neither concern would keep me from buying this mic again... I LOVE IT! ... More

I am a retired broadcaster but still do voiceover work, with the recordings being done at professional studios. One client asked if I could do something at my home in front of my PC. After much research and with advice from people I've worked with I chose the Snowball. It was easily within my budget and clear in capturing sounds and voice. This is a durable microphone and with its USB output easily plugs in my PC for great performance and versatility.

This mic is so simple to use right out of the box! Simply plug the USB into your laptop and you're recording in minutes! I love that now I'm getting the same studio quality in my own living room! It's a well built mic and the sound is the ultimate evidence of that. I don't need a mixer using the Snowball! Only nitpicky thing I would say is that it should come with a case or something to keep it safe for transfer, but most mic don't come with that any way. Also maybe a sturdier stand with more flexibility, other than that I love this productBuy a Snowball USB Mic!! ... More

HI, When I order this Mic, I accedently ordered 2 instead of one, but after I tried it out I decided, I liked it so much that I would send the extra one to my sister who likes to sing. I am going to use it for animation voice over, music, and naration for motion graphics. one thing that isn't great about it is i can't find any istructions for it. Not sure if I lost them or it did't come with any. It would be nice to have a description switch settings. Other, than that I really like it, and the solid little stand it comes with. ... More

I've been a broadcaster since '74, used many mics over the years, and the Snowball is by far the coolest (mine is white). Am going on Live365 in about a month & doing pre-production now. The Snowball is exactly what I need: it sounds fantastic, especially for the price. With the addition of a pop filter to take care of those pesky plosives, there's nothing I would change about it. My Windows XP OS recognized it right away & I'm using it in Adobe Audition w. great results. Solid, well built & a perfect 10 on the cool meter, you can't do better for anywhere near the money. ... This is an attractive mic, crafted so it can connect to a larger mic stand if needed. It provides great sound quality and several recording options, directional and omnidirectional, which makes it a bit more versatile than other mics. I wish the omni-directional setting could be a little more specific, for instance: I wish it could pick up from the front and the back without all the other room sound, more of a bi-directional setting, so you could sit across the table from someone and get equal quality from their voices. Other than that, it's a great find.

Sets on a very stable tri-pod, the mic is about the size of a fist. Great audio sound, a pop-blocker helped a little, but you could get away without using one. I did have to speak, or shout, into the mic to get the best recording. No switch, just plugs into USB port. Did not have problems with ambient noise. Easy to use.

First of all this microphone fits perfectly on any desk and is the right size of recording audio on the PC. Also the microphone has great audio! Capture's the user's voice clearly. However there are a few suggestions. First of all it can pick up a lot of background noise so be sure to have the area silent and a quiet PC. Furthermore since you will be so close to the mic it is recommended that you have a pop filter! Other than that everything is fine.

The easy plug and play design made it a snap to install and put to use. The recording quality was awesome right out of the box and made a huge difference in the video and audio feeds I create. It is a little cubersome to move around but worth the space it takes up in sound quality.

I do some voice overs and my own radio ads and needed a decent usb microphone. Decided to buy the Snowball USB because of the price and good reviews. It works great, plug & play and the quality of the recordings is better than ever. If you're on the fence, get one. It is a little bigger than I expected, bat that is no problem.

I love the microphone and would probably use this at home on my personal computer. As for a conference room microphone, the recipients that are using Skype can't get enough volume to hear people at the other end of the room really clear. The adjustment doesn't allow for the levels to really pump the volume on the system software. One on One, no problem. We are still going to try to use it this way anyway because it is the most clear audio that we have had and there is no feedback for the people on Skype.

I work in Training & Development creating Computer Based Learning Modules. I've used all kinds of devices to do voice recording and the Blue Snowball by far is the BEST! The sound is clear and crisp, you dont have to worry about hearing feedback from the corded headsets we have used in the past. The sleek stand alone design takes me back to the 40's, I feel like I am performing on an old radio show.

I use this product to record my songs (guitar, vocals, various instruments) and it is worth it. I am very happy with it's clarity, I use it with Audacity. The three different settings on the back give good possibilities and options for either recordings for right in front of the microphone, loud sounds, and conferences to pick up sounds all across the room. I would recommend this microphone to those who are on a budget but still want a quality microphone, this is it! It also durable while still not too heavy. I have no doubts that this was not worth it, I am in love with it! ... More

I needed a quick way to record some quality acoustic music for my dad's family trip DVD, and the Snowball did the job. Plug-n-play, used Audacity, and recorded a few crisp old-time banjo parts for the video (I know what you're thinking--deliverance, but that's BLUEGRASS banjo). Sound was very clean, a perfect alternative to the noisy racket recorded when using my laptop's internal speaker. Used the second setting, I thought it wasn't going to record hot enough but it gave me plenty of volume for what I needed. Great produce, would recommend.

I purchased this for our employees to add dialog to their web based power point type training. It's way better than a webcam mic (which is what we were using before). Sound is clear and not hollow like with the webcam mic. The mini tripod that it came with is perfect for what we're using it for. And it's very compact for when we're done. The install was crazy easy. Plugged it in and Windows obtained the drivers and it was ready to go. The Windows default recording device switched to it as well, but you might want to double check if you have multiple microphones attached. ... More
