I've been using this the Audio-Technica microphone for a few weeks. It replaced my Azden SMX-10 shotgun mic that developed a static sound after after 2 years of use. The A-T mic does a solid job of recording outdoors with little or no post processing required. I'm quite pleased with the performance thus far with my Panasonic video camera. The soft sided pouch is a nice extra too.

Great stereo microphone to improve sound when outdoors in windy conditions. Mounts on the accessory shoe and plugs into the camcorder, and is small enough to mount on todays small camcorders without being a nuisance. Being used to using an external microphone on a camcorder it seemed obvious to buy this microphone with the camcorder I recently purchased from B&H.

Based on the reviews I read of all the sub-$ DSLR compatible mics, none are perfect and all have drawbacks. As I didn't want to pay extra for less than ideal, I settled on this one and was quite surprised. Certainly not as bad as some reviews suggested. Yes, it is noisy but that's quite easy to correct even with very basic software. A good entry level mic. or for those on a budget.

For the price, an excellent product in this range. We shoot HD video for weddings with DSLRs and this guy rides on the hot shoe or accessory shoe on a bracket. Naturally, the audio quality is far better than on the built-in mic on the camera. The biggest con for this mic is the lack of dampening and shock absorption so if you are not careful, your body movements, footsteps, changing camera controls will easily be caught by the mic. Worth the $ for me, though, overall.

Small and lightweight, a perfect complement to my GoPro Hero 2 which has the external mic plug-in. Sound is leaps and bound ahead of the internal GoPro mic but there is a very slight hiss as the GoPro doesn't adjust gain. Although its very minor and could be edited out if your that picky. Again far superior to the GoPro mic. It fits my budget and I don't have to worry about its price and ruggedness when paired with the GoPro.

I use this mic with my Canon 7d. The fact that this mic fits on the hot shoe and doesn't make my set up cumbersome is a plus. Stereo sound is great, but there is a slight hiss. I'm sure this can be taken care of in post, but I'm not an avid filmmaker so it works for me.

For essentially no money and such ease of use I have gotten great sound out of this from many different concert venues and has exceeded my expectations for not going totally crazy pro. A definite easy buy in my opinion!

I use this mic with my Canon 7d. I use it for interviews and I have found it to do quite well. The quality compared to the Canon mic is significantly better. There us a slight hiss though, but for the money you can't beat it. I use the mic off camera on a light stand with an umbrella bracket. It fits right in the cold shoe of the bracket. I haven't read any other reviews with this setup. I purchased a mini stereo cable with it to set it up off camera.

This little microphone packs a big punch. I'm coming from a mono shotgun mic and I needed stereo sound and this little microphone does the job. Great pick up great price and great sound quality easy-to-use. I would highly recommend it if your looking for a quality stereo mic in this price point. B&H always delivers the best quality service and ease of ordering.

After installing this Microphone and recording one musical event, I was delighted by the sound clarity and extended range when compared to my camcorders integrated microphone.

This microphone was recommended by a friend who knows audio equipment better than I do, and after my first experience with it recording a room full of young kids at a birthday party, all is well. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I'm not qualified to know if it's the best under the most demanding circumstances.

I used this mic for a 10 day trip to Europe. It is very good and it filters out a lot of environmental noise. The sound quality is better then the expensive Rode mic I purchased previously. The only drawback is that it does not have a battery indicator and I did not know the battery ran out until it happens. Anyhow, I still will use it for my travel because it is easy to use and it is easy to carry.

so far I've only tested the mic on my little canon ZR 800 camcorder. I'll be using it as backup for a shoot next week. The built in mics on ZR 800 give a somewhat louder but certanly thiner playback. I'll take quality over quantity any time. The quality of the pouch was more than I expected. Is this the best mic in it's price range? probably. Is it pro-level? probably not. Am I happy with my purchase? Yes, so far.

You get what you pay for. For the price, an amazing mic. Its a little quiet so if you have a camera that you can manually ajust the levels this mic will work a little better for you. It sounds pretty close to your on board mic, but its still an improvment because you wont pick up noise from your camera.

I am using this mic with the Kodak Zi8 pocket camcorder. Very good omni-directional mic.Well balanced sound, especially when recording live music. The only negative I can find is that it does not have a LED to indicate on/off or battery charge status. Other than that, it is a excellent mic.

I bought this microphone to use with a GoPro Hero2. The microphone worked terribly with the GoPro. The pick up was extremely quiet and when i brought the levels up in post processing there was a ton of noise! The problem is not likely with the microphone but rather the inability to disable AGC (automatic gain control) on the Gopro Hero2. Great microphone but not for this application.

I shoot DSRL photo and video in Nikon D300s and use external audios recording. 3 yeas ago I use the Zoom H2 (I love it!), but need a little micro for facility. I think it's a best micro but prefer the H2 because, for example, I shot a video in live music and register audio saturation in a low gain option. Produce a low noise in normal audio scenes.

I am currently using the Pro 24CM to record a video archive of a poet friend. I additionally will be using it to record some acapella vocal music. I enjoy that it is a stereo mic that is compact and light weight. If I were only recording interviews I would get a more direction mic.

I am an amateur photogrpaher who was asked to video a play. The microphone was the least expensive stereo mic that I could find with a camera mount. I like the size and the fact it is stereo. I would prefer to have a receptacle as opposed to a connected wire, which is a negative point. Performance was fine, but I wasn't looking for something really professional, I wanted stereo. I still heard the focusing clicks of the lens.

I'm a seasoned cameraman with solid audio background. I wanted to get a mic to up the audio recording potential of my Canon 7D set-up so in run and gun situations (when you don't needs great audio) i bought this mic - it's small but definitely much larger than camera's internal mic so it HAD to be better. Unfortunately a quick test of recording with the this mic and without proves how SUPERIOR camera's internal mic (!!!) is to this junk. Use your camera's internal mic for better audio!
