I love this camera! This was a replacement for my NEX-6 and is a worthy upgrade. It takes fantastic pictures and the new menu system is a huge improvement over the NEX-6. I have had the camera for a couple of months. I was able to give the camera a good workout on a trip to Jackson Wy. and on to the OR. &CA. coast. The camera captured the difference in the tones of color the grays against the snow on the mts. and the different greens of the trees, and the blues of the ocean. The camera is easy to use. I am just getting back into photography after a few decades of a hiatus. My last 'good' camera was a Pentax SP1000, so that's a relic. I have two Sony Alpha cameras a 5100 with a digital zoom lever integrated with the shutter button and the on off switch assembly. Works great. I frequently use digital zoom when my 55-210 will lens is the maximum optical setting. For example taking a photo of eagles on top of a cell tower were both digital and optical zoom is used to the max. My previous camera is a Nikon D5000 with Nikkor 18-200 lens. This camera is the same. WHAT a difference, especially with sharpness and shutter lag (or lack thereof). My son is a wrestler. I gave my point-and-shoot to my grandson and bought a new, better camera. I wanted low-light capabilities for family pictures, and also a light-weight and pocketable camera for taking with me (especially backpacking). Loves a great zoom or prime
I have both a Sony A7 and A6000 and I use the A6000 as a second body to mount my old Nikon film lenses with a Metabone adapter. The A7 is more forgiving of zooms, the A6000 really performs well with a great zoom. But both cameras give wonderful results with old primes.
