Great alternative to a mouse

Oct 1, 2013

I purchased this as a replacement for a wired Logitech trackball that finally wore out from near daily use. This style is currently only available as wireless, and though I was hesitant about a wireless model because of battery use, the AA battery is rated for 18 months. You can also turn off the trackball if it won't be used for an extended period. The very small Unifying wireless receiver is nice, and unobtrusive when plugged into a USB port on... Show More

The best mouse in the world (for me)

Feb 26, 2017

I've been using Logitech trackballs for about 20 years now. I always have at least two - one for the desktop and one for the laptop. I usually replace them after about two years of heavy use (they still work, but since my right hand is sitting on it most of the day, I like to keep it fresh, clean and accurate). Over the years I had a lot of them and I always preferred the corded ones since the wireless models had a lot of problems (bad reception,... Show More

Not For this CAD User

May 7, 2013

The product performed fairly well but I need something to assist me in CAD software. First of all, I really need to be able to press the scroll and hold it down while I move the cursor. This proved to be difficult as it took a fair amount of force to hold it down. Doing so completely negated the ergonomics of the device as my hand would cramp after only a few hours of use. Secondly, I was not able to move the cursor to pinpoint a specific point. ... Show More

Beats the heck out of any mouse!

Jan 8, 2013

My Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball is used in ALL my computer system work - from upgrading the software revisions on several different PCs, to maintaining precise cursor control in all kinds of applications, video games, or just surfing the web. If you've ever gotten tired of moving that mouse around, I suggest trying this device. You control all the up-down-left-right cursor movements with your THUMB only. It has the exact same 'Left Click' & '... Show More

Great trackball

Feb 6, 2011

This is a great trackball, but it does have some issues. First, when oh when is Logitech going to make a bluetooth trackball??? I think it's great that the wireless usb dongle is very small, but it still consumes a usb port, while most computers now ship with internal bluetooth. Second, I am used to using my ring finger for right clicking, and my old wired Logitech trackball had it positioned that way. However, this one has it as the middle finge... Show More

Better left-click switch than its cousin

Nov 11, 2013

The M570 beats its cousin the Cordless Trackman Optical in at least one primary and critical aspect: the left click button. Given that this is the one switch on the trackball that is likely to be used several hundred times more than any other, it is still shocking that the left click button on the Cordless Trackman Optical is so difficult to press; and this seemingly by design! The left click button on the M570 clicks easily and lightly (but no T... Show More

M570 Review

I am a Final Cut Pro Editor. I purchased the slim blade by Kensington based upon some reviews I read on B&H. I have 2 Kensington track balls this would have been my 3rd. I was looking for control buttons that I could program. I went with the Kensington thinking I would have the most flexibility. I received the order and started to use right away and it was smooth but I never got the chance to really use it because it quit working after about a we... Show More

Not Satisfied

Feb 13, 2012

To start, I am a big Logitech fan, but not of this model. I've used several models of trackballs and mice. The prior trackball was one with a cord, which had the ball in the middle. There were no problems, but I wanted the new unifying system to go with my new keyboard. However, the design of the M570 quickly took its toll on my right hand. Within a weeks use the thumb and three of my fingers on the hand went numb, and would not function properly... Show More

Absolutely Great!

Mar 23, 2011

I needed a trackball because of pain in my arm from using a regular mouse for so many years. I needed to get my arm off the desk and get it into a different position. This wireless trackball does the trick! I am now using the trackball in my lap, on a small plastic cutting board. It relieved the pressure totally from my elbow and shoulder. . If you have never used a trackball, it may take a little while to learn to move the cursor with just your ... Show More

Could be the best input device ever...

Aug 27, 2014

This could be the best input device ever... but it's reliability is a killer. It is far and away the most ergonomic design out there. I have used many similar Logitech devices, namely the trackman wheel in both wired and wireless. I have a 10 year old trackman wheel that I still use on a secondary computer and it still works flawlessly. The M570 however, seems to work fine for about a year then 'precision issues' start kicking in. My first one ha... Show More

A Must for Creative Applications

Jul 25, 2012

This is a fantastic product. I bought it to use with my video editing workstation and I don't know why I have waited so long to get it. It is far more efficient and comfortable than just using a standard mouse, especially if you have multiple screens or do any kind of timeline editing.Logitech is a solid brand and have had good experiences in the past with their wireless keyboards and mice and this is no different. Great Trackball, Great Price!

Apr 2, 2014

I love this trackball mouse and I hope Logitech never stops making it. I actually have another trackball that is the same and I have had it for over a year, and still works great. I just wanted to get another one in case my old one stopped working, and just because I REALLY like this product. I love it because you don't hsve to move the mouse when you're on the internet. All you have to move is the ball with your thumb. I also like that the mouse... Show More

Great for wrist issues

May 28, 2014

I've used a version of the trackman for about 15 years. I've been waiting for the wireless version for many years and it finally came out. I carry this with my laptop everywhere. The best part, other than saving stress on your wrist, is that I can actually put it on my lap and not worry about having to move it like a bar of soap to get the cursor to move. I takes about 1 week to get used to using your thumb to roll the ball, but it's superior to ... Show More

Excellent Design/Function

Sep 8, 2014

I had been using a Logitech wired trackball for several years and have been wanting to upgrade to the M570. Am very glad that I did. The freedom from the wire is a real plus allowing placement anywhere, unfettered, for frequent change of position. Also, the M570 adds Forward/Back page buttons not available on the wired version. The Logitech thumbwheel design allows the index and middle fingers to remain on their click buttons while the thumb on t... Show More

good, but not for for me

Mar 24, 2013

As an audio/video engineer and spend tons of time at the computer and wanted a mouse that didn't put so much strain on my hand. Most pros use trackballs of some sort but I find it hard to do precision work with a track ball and wanted something between a mouse and a trackball. Initially, it took some getting used to because the pointer is ONLY controlled with the ball, the unit doesn't move like a mouse. That said, it took a few hours and I was o... Show More

great product, no hitches

Aug 28, 2012

I use the M570 for everything but gaming (though it's actually preferable to a mouse in some games), and it has sped up almost every task I perform on my computer. That's more of a comment about trackballs in general, though. This one in particular is very accurate and demonstrates no perceivable level of lag. However, its light weight makes it feel a little cheap and suggests that if it's put through much abuse it'll fall apart. That's pure spec... Show More

Great Portability!

Nov 18, 2010

I have a few corded versions of this trackball and have been very happy with them. Unfortunately, the cords were a little cumbersome when using with my netbook. The M570 was the answer to make my netbook even more convenient than just the comp alone. I highly recommend this if you want a receiver/transmitter that can be left in a laptop that won't be as prone to breaking as those larger receiver/transmitters of other manufacturers. Waiting for a wireless version of this trackball since I loved the old wired USB version but the wire gets in the way. This also works great with my Logitech keyboard because I only need a single usb port for the receiver. Which free up other USB ports. It has a on and off switch that you can turn off the Trackball when you shut down for the day or when you need to clean inside behind where the ball is. There is even a storage place for the Logit... Very good track ball, but buy with caution.

Dec 17, 2016

I believe that reviews should be written ONLY after using the product for at least one year. This is an important consideration because you do not want to pay good money for a product that will fail shortly afterwards. American business greed have forced Americans to buy ONLY poorly manufactured products in third world countries. Shame!! This track ball is very, very good. My only reservation is that this ball is not sufficiently damped. This is ... Show More

This is not your Dad's Trackman Wheel

Apr 7, 2014

I needed to replace a Logitech Trackman Wheel which has been replaced by the M570. This isn't even close to the quality of the Trackman. I intended to use this primarily for CAD work. One of my unique issues is that I am missing half of my right thumb which was not a problem at all on the Trackman but the little blue ball on the M570 is small and light, it feels cheep and is hard for me to control precisely. I loved the silky smooth motion of the... Show More

It was a little tight and scratchy feeling at first but loosened up in a very short time. After a couple of days usage it's as smooth as my 10 year old logitech thumb ball mouse it replaced. I don't know if it was a combination of 1. taking out the ball and whipping it, 2. adjusting the mouse properties in both the PC mouse settings and the Logitech app and/or 3. just keep using it.
