Induro GIT304 Grand Series 3 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod

Good tripod but has some flaws
Pros: well made, light weight for size, cheaper than RRS or Pro Media Gear Cons: made in China, 1 lb heavier than comparable RRS, twist locks are huge, have had problems with legs locking up. Specifically my 404xl which is in excellent condition and less than a year old, has problems with the legs locking or seizing if you don't break it down or extend it in a specific order. Sometimes the legs will rotate inside the tube above them and seize whe... Show More

Would give it 4.5 if I could
I've been using this tripod for a year with an APS-C mirrorless system and an RB67 mostly for studio still life and landscape / long exposures in the field, so this review is based on this use. Overall, its a very, very good tripod, with simple, reliable design, which brings no attention to itself in use. Not as tall as advertised, I measured mine at 52 3/8 with the swivel flat rubber feet, and 51 5/8 with the regular non swiveling rubber feet. ... Show More

One great tripod
I wanted a taller tripod so I wouldnt have to stoop down like I had been with my travel sized tripod. This one fit the bill perfectly. I can set it at the perfect height whether on flat level land or on a slope where lone or more legs are lower than my footing. I can also raise it to higher than my head and operate my camera via my cell phone. It is not inexpensive, but comes with 3 sets of feet and a soft case that has cushions that protect my b... Excellent center column.
Easy to install and use. Good range. Winding handle of the center column is a bit fiddly to use as it is quite small and you have to hold it very steady when winding up and down. Other than that it's great.

Stable, sturdy, simple tripod
It is exactly what I was looking for ... stable platform, easy to manipulate, interchangeable feet ( especially like half-dome flat feet with ball socket to adjust to the ground and create a solid platform ), like the large platform for my gear ball head and it works the way I had envisioned for my 400mm f2.8 prime lens with 2x teleconverter. It may be a little heavier but it is much stronger and very stable and that is exactly what I was looking... Show More

Outstanding landscape tripod
I originally investigated this tripod because I didnt want to subject my Really Right Stuff model to any more salt waterand because it was recommended by a prominent landscape photographer. What I discovered was a fantastically well engineered and equipped instrument for about half the price of its big name rivals. With no center column, its a wonder of stability on sand or rocks, and comes equipped with three sets of feet, including metal spikes... Show More

Excellent for travel!
I purchased this tripod for ease of traveling, meaning I can pack this and minimal photography gear in 2 carry-ons. It fits well inside of an approved backpack and works well on site. Its a lot thinner in the lower legs than I imagined, but its very stable and fairly light. Maximum height is perfect for me at 510 and should be relatively comfortable up to about 62. The unit is classic Induro Grand, meaning its got a great warranty, its made well, and is as stable as its size allows.

Best tripod for the money
If you are looking for a good solid tripod that is light weight and reasonably priced this it. What I love most about this tripod compared to others Ive had in the past is that it comes with everything you need. A nice padded bag that is big enough to put in it with the head attached, tool kit, and the foot can be changed out to have padded or spike footing. Best of all its a good solid tripod.

Induro GIT404L
Purchased this set of legs to support a Nikon D850 with various lenses and tripod heads. Have not yet had a chance to use it for nature/wildlife with a Nikon 200-500mm/F5.6 and a gimbal head but did shoot some cityscapes in Kansas City using a Sirui ball head and Nikon 24-120/F4. It is possible the lighter GIT304L would have been sufficient but I wanted to assure adequate support for most any circumstance I might be in, so I went with this one. I... Show More

Just be aware before you buy
Overall I really like this tripod, but there were a couple of things that I wish I had realized immediately. 1. the built in bubble level is a dark blue green and is very difficult to see, so I ordered a Sunwayfoto LP-76 leveling plate with a much easier to read level. 2. The much larger base is wonderfulbut if you are not using a ball-head (I prefer a geared-head, and the lack of space between the base and the knobs meant a lot of knuckle busting.) you would be wise to order a tripod head riser. I ended up ordering the Acratech 1045 Tripod Head Riser. With those additions its great.

Nice and sturdy tripod
A 3 section tripod without a center column, super stable and comes with spikes and flat bottom replaceable foot ends. The level adjustment is sometimes tricky as the leg twist locks tend to get loosened easily up if you don't get them right, you may have to do a little more than a half turn. Once setup correctly, its a dream to work with.

Good product on the second try!!!!!
The first one I recieved was missing tool kit, extra leg ends, AND believe it or not, ALL 3 LEGS were MISSING A SECTION with one of those not even being able to extend..... AWFUL - PLAINLY AWFUL first time experience with this tripod model.... I have had Induro tripods over the last few years, with great experiences, only to spend twice the cost of my previous ones and have this happen!!!! The only, AND I REPEAT ONLY, reason I returned this one f... Show More

Great tripod !
I've only used it a little but it seems very sturdy for my Nikon 750 and my Nikon 200mm - 500mm lens. It came with three sets of feet and a nice bag. Very satisfied.

T tripod that will replace all others.
This could be the tripod that replaces all my others. Build quality and stability is BETTER than Gitzo. I have two Gitzos, a series 2 and a series 5 and both have had issues. This thing folds up short, no central column great for stability. I cam use it for long hikes, and have mounted my nikon 500 mm f4 With a wimberley sidekick and get really sharp images. IM an INDURO famboy now.

Best Tripod Ever...
I'm a large format film photographer. I shoot 8x10 film. My camera weighs 20 pounds. It's also quite bulky which can make it a challenge to mount on a traditional tripod. I spent $2,000 on a wooden tripod that weighed 25 pounds. It was very sturdy, but not practical for hiking with. I started to look at carbon fiber tripods as they are very sturdy and lightweight. Many fellow photographers told me I "had to buy a Gitzo". After weeks of comparing... Show More

Good Value
Impressively built and looks great. I'm currently using it with a zoom telephoto (not a big prime) but it seems more than strong enough to support a big lens. Comes with a nice case, feet and several tools. The leg locks are smooth and easy to adjust. Very happy with this tripod.

solid and lightweight
I purchased this tripod to mount heavy lenses together with my sirui carbon gimbal and it is very solid. On the field and elsewhere, it is so easy to carry. Paddings are attached with a velcro so it rotates as you carry it. I then attached a strip of double adhesive tape inside to secure it. Now i am using it for a video set up and still feels solid. i haven't extended the 3 section on this set up because i don't need that much height but at 2 sections extended it is solid. I'm happy with the product.

Impressive
My first carbon fiber so not much to compare with but can't see how improvements would make it materially better. Have had a Manfrotto 458B so not alien to quality and practicality. Took advantage of the holiday sale getting it for less than half but I'd buy full price after experiencing it. Loving the modularity of the apex and ordered the 100mm bowl along with a Manfrotto short half ball adapter and making setup a breeze getting the legs perf... Show More

Great Stability
I was looking for carbon fiber tripod legs that were sturdy with no center column. I figured I would buy this one that supports 88lbs that way no matter what equipment I buy this should handle it without a problem. I bought it on sale and couldnt be happier, it is rock solid! The only thing I wish it came with are some spiked feet or smaller rubber feet. The feet that came with the tripod offer outstanding stability but are extremely large.

I've never had a good tripod before. I purchased the GIT404XLand a Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head for my Nikon D5 and Nikon 400 f2.8 combination.. In my budget range this is the best I found and am really happy with the products. The tripod is rock solid with my camera / lens combo. You will not be disappointed in the stability of these legs!
