Really Right Stuff B2-LR-II Lever-Release Clamp (60mm)

What A Difference 20mm Makes
I had purchased the RRS B2-LR-II 60mm Levy-Release Clamp. I have three Manfrotto tripods with 410 Geared 3 Way Pan and Tilt heads. I decided to switch rotating systems and opted for the RRS L Brackets for my Canon 5DMkIII and 5DMkIV camera bodies. While the smaller 60mm plate worked well with the L Brackets it was a very tight fit to try and work the release lever. I could make it work by increasing the space between the QL Plate on the 410 head ... Show More

Really Good
The RRS B2-LR-II 60mm L-R C is well built and works great, and Id rate it Five Star, but their B2-LLR-II 80mm L-R C is a better fit for my system. I have three Manfrotto tripods, 2 CF tripods and one aluminum based tripod, each one equipped with a Manfrotto 410 3-Way Geared Pan-and-Tilt Head. I recently switched to RRS L Brackets for my 3 Canon DSLRs from a rotating camera adapter that crimped the remote release cable when orienting it from lands... Show More

An undocumented feature and a good one
B&H photo did it again. The ordered product arrived as promised, and performed as described in the B&H ad. The fit and finish is what I expect in a more expensive piece of photo equipment. The instructions are clear and that is when and where I saw the feature. The instructions clearly state the lubrication technique when cleaning and lubrication of the steel shaft is required. When dirty and dry the smooth operation it once had when new is lost.... Show More

Gimbal for Life
I knew from prior reviews that this was going to be the last gimbal I ever needed to purchase in my life. It is superb. I installed a RRS arca swiss mount on the base and usually clamp this gimbal head to an RRS TVC-34L tripod. One of the big advantages of this gimbal (over competitors) is that it breaks down and disassembles into straight pieces and therefore quite easy to pack...this is a big deal for me personally. Ive used this rig with focal... Show More

It totally clamps
My primary ballhead+clamp combo is an Arca p0 with the built in flip-lock. On a recent trip I saw a companion break the flip-lock mechanism. It's been in the back of my mind ever since. I don't think the p0 is fundamentally fragile, but the idea he was able to accidentally break it has stuck with me. I'd seen others using this RRS clamp and knew I liked it. I recently needed another good clamp for a second setup while shooting the solar eclipse. ... Show More

LOVE the clamp, why NO SCREW included?
The RRS clamp system is beyond a doubt the very best on the market. The smooth, firm, secure operation of the lever, the feeling of security when it is locked down, and the middle (half open) position on the lever action to allow adjustment without complete release...these are excellent qualities. Also the beautiful machining, fine finish, the visible bubble level on the outside, and wide arca-swiss compatibility take the cake. Im hooked on the R... Show More

Perfection!
I spent a lot of time going back and forth between this FG-02 and the non-fluid PG-02. To be fair, initially I was planning to purchase the PG-02. But as of this writing, there's a huge waiting list on the revamped PG-02, and because of time constraints on my end, I ended up biting the bullet to go for the FG-02. While I obviously don't have the PG-02 to compare against, but the FG-02 really satisfies all my requirements for a good gimbal head. I... Show More

How did I live without this?
For thirty-odd years I've used various Bogen/Manfrotto and Gitzo tripods & monopods...each with their own variation of a quick release system. Those variations aren't a huge problem...so long as the gear chosen for the shoot is using the same QR plates & clamps. If not, then they're anything BUT quick and no different than simply attaching the camera directly to the tripod/monopod. Kinda defeats the purpose to my mind. Enter Really Right Stuff a... Show More

Maybe should have bought the PG-CC Cradle Clamp version
The product is of excellent quality - should be at the price! I purchased it principally as a replacement for my Wimberley gimbal head (the heavy original version). It works exceptionally well as a gimbal head as well as a multi pano head together with the MPR-CLII Rail with integrated clamp. I have a wrist problem, and I find mounting my Canon EOS 1DX mark II with a Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM lens and a Canon flash with Flash extender in th... Show More

i got the RRS Gimbal FG-02-FG with the Cradle clamp, and i must say i love the look and the feel of it as my 600mm sits on it , very smooth, i used my RRS gimbal out in the desert for the 1st time , sat waiting for 4 hours for little Owls to come out of their hole,in temperatures of 48-50c, when they did , i never missed a shot with the RRS gimbal, moves very smooth for the flying shots , love the fluid action too, as if u let go of your camera, ... I would recommend this to anyone seriously in to photography
This RRS clamp is top quality. Three positions makes this clamp a very sensible purchase. The closed position securely locks in your plates. The 1/2 open position allows your plate to slide from one end to the other but still won't release all the way so you can't dump your equipment on the ground. Once fully open you can easily unload or load it. I have several products from RRS because I appreciate good old American made products that are engin... Show More

My Favorite Gimbal Head
I bought the PG-02 to replace my Wimberley Version 2 gimbal that Ive had for years. The Wimberley is a great gimbal head but I like the RRS one even more. My favorite features over the Wimberley are: 1) The PG-02 breaks down into 3 pieces making it much easier to pack. 2) The cradle on the PG-02 has a lever lock that is quicker and easier to lock than a knob 3) The vertical arm uses a lever to lock the vertical rail in position as opposed to a kn... Absolutely Top Notch
I debated spending so much on a piece of photo equipment when there are less expensive alternatives, but I have to say that after using the Really Right Stuff PG-02 FG Gimbal Head I'm very happy with my choice. It is completely rock solid, has what I would consider just the right amount of tension (it will not spin freely as some others are shown to do in their reviews) and is a very professional-looking piece of gear. Another nice feature is tha... Show More

Well Made Equipment
I have been a big fan of RRS equipment for some time (starting with BH-40 Ball Head). This does not disappoint. It is well made. All of the controls work well and work smoothly. Having the markers on all the adjustable bits will allow me to quickly setup if I adjust bodies or lenses (not an issue at the moment, but perhaps as I build my lens collection, or add a different body). A strong, RRS unique, feature is there lever clamp; strong, secure, ... Show More

The best piece of equipment I thought Id never need
Ive been stitching photos for a while now guesstimating on a tripod. As I tried to take on more complex scenes my failure rate Increased to the point of getting gun shy, shooting 10 to 20 one minute exposures has some investment. I decided to gear up. The first thing I bought was an L bracket then a panorama head. Finally I decided to try the vertical component and bought this gimbal. I call it the contraption but its opened up a whole ne... Outstanding Gimbal head from RRS!
I recently purchased the PG-02 LR Pano-Gimbal head by RRS from B&H, and am thrilled with it. The setup on my RRS TVC-33 tripod was a snap, with no issues to mount it. This gimbal head is rock solid, the materials and craftsmanship are as promised, and it is a joy to use. I especially like the lever-release clamp, as it makes mounting/dismounting my camera, even with a 400mm lens, very easy and fast. I highly recommend this gimbal head to any seri... Show More

REALLY RIGHT FOR ARCA-SWISS p0 MONOBALL
Really well-made! The RRS clamp is solid, secure, and safe. The clamp clamps down tight and there is no play whatsoever with any of the plates Ive used so far. It fits the top of the Arca-Swiss p0 Monoball perfectly. Yes, it doesnt come with a to adapter, buy one for a couple bucks when you order the clamp if you need one. To be honest I like the Acratech Lever Clamp better, but they dont make one that works with the Arca-Swiss p0 Monoball. Still, and yet, settling for the RRS Lever Clamp is not settling for second best. It is a fine piece of camera gear.

Awesome!
Bought this for super-tele work and landscapes. Before the super-tele and landscape jobs I put it to work supporting a spotting scope. When the minimum damping is turned on the spotting scope stops wherever I put it and stays there. Just push to the thing I want to view and let go, it just stays on target. Very nice! Super build quality, no rough edges that I could find. A nice bonus is the Allen wrench in the base, captured by little-bitty magnets... Off to Africa to try the super-tele and the landscapes...

RRS Quick Release clamp
This item is what I needed. I will confess that I had difficulty understanding from the web descriptions of this and similar items exactly what I needed. This is what I needed. However, I needed an adapter bushing to allow it to connect to my tripod head through the center hole. Unfortunately I cannot really use my L bracket with this clamp. When attempting to use the L bracket the lever cannot be moved to the fully closed position. It works fine with my other quick release plates.

Nice clamp
I mounted this on myDCLW head on my Manfrotto Tripod. I also bought aReally Right Stuff Quick ReleaseBJAE700 Rifle Plate and it fit and clamped good and tight. I also bought a EntirelyCrimsonOffset Keymod adapter plate and 2MDT M-LOK ARCA RAILs (3.3) and they all were a hair too wide to close the clamp. I returned them and bought 3 MagpulM-LOK Dovetail Adapters and they clamped on perfectly. I havent fired a rifle off of this clamp yet but I am sure it will hold tight.

Their brand name says it all!
I bought the RRS lever release to use in conjunction with a Joby pro sling strap. That way I can quickly remove the strap when using a tripod. The three holes let me put the strap off center, so the camera rest further back and out of the way when I'm not shooting. The lever feels really secure with a click-like action when locked. Much better than the screw type clamps that loosen with the simple act of walking. As their name states, they have the really right stuff!

As good as it gets!
Besides photography, I do a bit of machining/fabricating, and this unit really impresses me. It is rock solid to say the least, and the motion/locks are incredible. Using this makes doing multirow pano work a breeze, and enjoyable. It also doubles as a precision 2-axis head, which is fantastic. A bit overkill for smaller setups perhaps, but if you are reading this review, odds are, you are looking for a quality/robust setup. This is it. I am 100% happy with it

Awesome Clamp!
I use this with the RRS TH-DVTL-40 ROUND DOVETAIL PLATE to make a quick change setup to go between a Ball head and a Gimbals on my tripods or Mono-pod. Put one of the B2-LR-II Lever-Release Clamp on each tripod and mono-pod and one of the TH-DVTL-40 ROUND DOVETAIL plates on each ball head and gimbal and all it takes is a simple flip of the lever to release or securely clamp the device to the tripod or mono-pod. Excellent quality as always with RRS products.

Makes switching heads so much faster
I installed a RRS lever release clamp on the leveling base of my RRS tripod then installed plates on the base of my ballhead and fluid head and slider so I can quickly switch between them. Then installed a RRS b2-LR-II clamp on my slider so I can attach either head right to the slider for rapid switching. It's expensive to do so, but for a professional who travels and shoots on quick moving shoots it's really worth it.
