I have over 14 years in film production doing commercials for businesses, event videography, short films, ....ect. For this price point they are the best I've used, and a standard in the industry. Buy them you won't be dissapointed. I recently used them for a wedding and put one on the groom and it even picked up the brides vows extremely well. Has a great tone out of the box, not needing much touch up in post at all, no high end hiss...amazing!

I use these TR50 microphones with a Zoom H4N recorder to create an independent sound track for video/DVD production and I find they work very well indeed. Small negative point is that the microphone XLR connector is quite large/bulky and when the mic(s) are connected to the H4N recorder, the connector(s) hinders concealment of this portable recording unit when it is strapped/attached to your body.

This thing is a workhorse. After 30+ countries and years of use, it's still working perfectly. Great sound too. I bought a second just in case.

This mic sounds incredible! Well worth replacing the stock lav on any system for this. It has a smaller footprint (making it easier to hide) but with a much bigger sound. The assortment of attachments it comes with is awesome, though I use the vampire clip for nearly every scenario. Great great great microphone.

I bought this to replace an old, and I mean old TRAM TR50 that finally gave up the ghost after many years of great service. I'm pleased that the sound of the new one is consistent with another old TR50 I still have. When something works, why mess with it. Mine are wired with TA5F connectors for use with Lectrosonics.

I use this for sit-down interviews and it works great. It sounds fantastic, comes in a handy little box with all sorts of accessories and it seems pretty durable. You need phantom power, and you'll probably need a longer XLR for most setups. I wish the cable were about three feet longer, otherwise I'm at a loss for any complaints.

I bought this microphone for use in video interviews. So far, so good. The sound isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn clean. It's small, versatile and easy to use. The carrying case and accessories are also a big help. I'd recommend this mic to any video professional looking for clean sound at an affordable price.

I have the Sennheiser Evolution G2 Wireless microphone system and I had purchased a replacement microphone that was cheaper and caused a tone of hiss and fluctuation in the sound during interviews. I picked up the TR50 by Tram and immediately heard the difference. I have to give my clients the best possible sound when shooting and the Tram was awesome! I definitely recommend it.

At the first glance it looks like DIY item. But when I tried to use it, I was impressed. I bougt TRAM TR50 for Sennheiser EW112G3-P wireless system. It has clear sound without hiss. Much better than stock Sennheiser ME2 as ver clothing, so under one. The set includes four different fixtures, so, it is quite versatile.

I'm a DSLR videographer and not an audio expert, but I used this mic on several interviews in the past week and was very pleased with the sound quality. Definitely an improvement over the lav mic I had before! You get what you pay for.

I'm using it for wedding and event films. What I really like about is the sound quality and all the little things that are with. A nice box that protects it, handy and little. I specially like the vampire clips for attaching to clothes.

This product has already served my company and myself very well. After lots of hunting the price was the best I found and the quality of sound after recording is above par even without a mixer. For a wired lav mic I could not ask for a better product. Also, the case provided helps me to keep everything well organized and protected.

I have used a tram for several years to record video and we would mix the tram with some other lavs like the common wireless sennheiser, or an old wired lav, and none of them make sound like the tram. Way quieter and cleaner audio from this mic. You do have to be careful with it though, don't go bending the wire or storing it loose in a bag of gear. I wish I had paid for the xlr adapter.

The mics definitely cut down on the fabric interference but it's no where near perfect. I don't think any mic can completely cut out fabric noise. Placement is everything. They do sound better than the stock mics that came with our mic packs and the assortment of mounting clips will help with most situations. I've found that taping the mics without clips works the best under clothing.

Working in Location sound, I haven't run into one recordist that doesn't keep these handy mics in their arsenal. They offer quality sound at a low price and that's always rare in the business of audio. Of course you'll want to pull out your COS 11s or DPAs in many situations but you'll be hard pressed to find a audio bag without a pair of these!!!

Been using Tram 50's for years. I really like their sound. It's relatively flat except for a boost in the highs which helps if it's under clothing. I've only had one go bad, probably due to talent yanking on it before I could remove it. I also like all the accessories that allow you to attach it in a variety of ways.

Excellent mic. Sound quality is great. Yes, more expensive; but you pay for what you get; superior audio! Only thing that could be a bit better is that the supplied clip easily falls off of the mic.

I picked up a second TR-50 to use as backup to my trusty 20 year old original. Perfect match, all the same accessories. 4 stars only because of the low-ish output level.

It does it's job. Looks clean without the wind screen. Sound is superb. My only wish is that the mic would stay on the clip. Always have to tie a knot to the clip so it won't separate. I purchased it because is was suggested by top cinematographers for it's sound quality. I have 3 of these - 2 black and 1 white.

I use this product with the Roland R-05 MP3 recorder to record audio when I'm shooting run-n-gun with my DSLR and don't have time to setup the shotgun microphone, phantom power recorder, etc. The product works well with the R-05 (make sure the plug-in power is turned on), but I find the overall audio strength to be lacking. Maybe I'm just spoiled by how amazing my Audio-Technica AT4073a sounds. I can't seem to get the audio from the TR-50 to sound as rich and warm as the audio from my shotgun. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from a lavalier (first one I've owned). Overall I'm just satisfied with the purchase. It's useful for situations when I can't use a boom, but if I can afford the extra time and effort, I'll use my boom and shotgun every time. ... More
