This is a pretty good microphone, for a USB mic. Unfortunately I cannot express how strongly I insist on NOT BUYING THIS PRODUCT because of one problem. I have had this mic for about 2 months, and it has completely broken. The computer no longer recognizes it as a microphone and it works a little bit, maybe once in one hundred re-plugs. This mic is good, but do not buy it!

This mic does NOT work with any DAW program. apparently this is the main issue with these things. So it makes it difficult to multi track. This type of mic is not meant for recording songs with overdubs... it is meant for podcasting and voice-overs. It works with Audacity, but no other DAWs

I bought the Blue Yeti Microphone for my daughter for Christmas because we read really good reviews online about it and was told that it is so easy to use. When we plug the usb in though we can hear no sound coming from the microphone even if we did exactly as instructions said to do. We can see volume bar moving up and down but no sound at all from microphone or computer. (We tried a laptop and a pc. When I can the tech number given in the instructional pamphlet during pacific time business hours I only get an answering machine. I left 2 messages 2 days in a row and no one called back.... It might be an excellant product if I could get it to work!! ... More

Consider a slightly more expensive condenser mic or even a dynamic one. Sound quality was not good and picked up every sound in the world. You could hear my pick plucking the strings of my electric guitar from across the rooom. Also the software it gave me would not download and said I had already redeemed the codes. Was super excited to get this mic but was let down.

They must have a phenomenal marketing division. All I know is that in GarageBand, no matter what my gain or recording level, I hear quite a lot of distortion. Thoroughly unacceptable for a mic that (despite it's low price) is touted as a professional recording mic. The built-in mic on my Mac is better.

Have been unable to get nectar elements so have not been able to use maybe they should send actual disks instead of downloads cos i basically paid a lot of money for just,a microphone although the mic is okay not amazing its just too much trouble to return im very disappointed in my purchase.
Even for USB, this thing sucks.

I bought it, and for months, i couldnt get a good sound from it. Maybe it was because i was using it to record female vocals. But all in all, i would suggest this for interviews/podcasts/ radio. Not for music recording. Also, it never recieved the vocals on time. it always had a split second delay. which affected the vocals, by adding unneeded distortion and reverb.
