Poor Design
Unlike most RRS products, the L-bracket for the Fuji GFX 50S misses the mark. The poor design requires that the L-bracket be disassembled or removed in order to change batteries on the GFX. The vertical portion of the L-bracket will not slide out far enough to allow the battery door to open, so when you need to change batteries, it has to be removed, which means completely removing the screw that holds it to the base plate. This might be okay in ... Show More

Solid construction but questionable battery door weather sealing
Like all RRS products the build quality & finish is solid. Im sure this bracket will outlast my camera. The bracket also feels pretty comfortable in the hand as it provides a spot for your pink to grasp/rest on. The issue I have with the bracket was the moving of the battery door from the camera to the bracket itself. Not sure why they had to do this; I had a L bracket on my A7Rii that had an opening that was wide enough to allow the battery ... Show More

NO accessory thread to screw in your strap connector!
I was shocked to find this L-bracket has no accessory thread to screw in your connector for the camera strap. I've used a Black Rapid strap for 6 years, the same one and the connector attached nicely to the accessory thread on the RRS L brackets for both my 20D & the 5DM3. So basically, you can't thread anything into the bottom of the L-bracket to carry the camera around on your shoulder. You have to use a less professional/convenient method. The... Show More

Outstanding
For the past thirty years or so I've used Bogen/Manfrotto and Gitzo tripods and monopods... In general I have liked the quick release plates they both use, but there's a catch; they're not the same. Heck, I have a couple different Manfrotto QR styles. Having multiple plates is ok if the tripod/monopod design is using the same plate already attached to the camera, or if I won't be switching midstream somewhere. If not...they're anything but quic... Perfect fit for my a7iii...
The RRS L-Plate is a PERFECT fit for my a7iii. I tried Sony's proprietary grip (which I found VERY comfortable and stylish), but they put form ahead of function. It rests funny on the table and there's no tripod mount nor a place to put one...unless you're interested in pulling out your dremel. No thanks. The RRR L-Plate isn't quite as "deep" on the grip but it adds plenty of space for my pinky to feel like it can contribute. Plus the ability to ... Show More

Exquisite Engineering!!!!!
Yes, it is a little pricey, but it is Really Right Stuff!!! I own a universal L bracket that was about $100 less, but I only would use it when needed. The Really Right Stuff L bracket is simply exquisite engineering and worth every $$$. It fits perfectly allowing access to the slide out battery tray and access ports without a need to take it off. It is very light weight. It is the little things that make this worth the $$$. It is perfectly sculpt... Show More

Best Plate Ever...
I first bought this plate and the matching L plate for my 1Dx Mk II. Besides being a great L bracket I love that this plate is equipped with the military grade strap disconnect that RRS sells. I put the clips on my BlackRapid straps and can use the straps with my cameras and simply push a button to have clear full access to my monopod and ball quick latch dovetails. So, I wanted a similar setup with my 1D Mk III. This plate fits that body very we... Show More

maybe one cigar
As in close but no ... The battery on the left side of the GFX is probably it's biggest fault, so can't blame RRS here, however the section of the L plate that slides into the baseplate really should have a dovetail. With a dovetail alignment would have been better when in portrait orientation and with the L section extended to allow a USB plug enough room to fit - as it stands there is some margin for error. The screw does stop it (L sectio... Show More

well made but tricky install
Other reviewers have said it well- this is a classic RRS top notch build, but it is fiddly to install. That's fine when you have time and light, but the whole point is to use with a tripod, and if the bracket isn't on your camera when you get to the field and want to use it, it may well stay that way. As another reviewer said, I also had to loosen the strap mount plus the L link to get it on then set all three bolts. I also have an RRS L on my ha... Show More

Perfect Fit
The Really Right Stuff L brackets for the Sony A9 and Sony A7r III camera bodies are well designed and built and they are a perfect fit for these cameras. The bracket is is also made to be adjusted so the external ports for sound, USB, trigger cables, etc. can be attached while ... Show More

Flexible
Wanted a perfect fit to my body with the flexibility to disengage the plate and this was the best option of the limited offerings. Great build quality. My focus is mostly landscape orientation so this will be used in full configuration less than 10% of the time and why the modular flexibility was so desirable. The base plate was thoroughly thought out with the center marker making alignment a breeze. I like putting my equipment away and setting u... Show More

Nice Product, BUT
Beautifully crafted (except for below0 and fits like a glove and does what it is supposed to BUT: as in another review one of the little TINY magnets that holds the hex key came out the first time used right out of the box. Also noted is that the monitor wont fully articulate when the L piece is attached - but this can be removed. For $180 the little magnets should stay put forever. One other caveat: when the L bracket is attached and in its clos... Show More

Be sure you have the right ball head, etc, before buying
The item is well made, as others have stated. And it is custom designed for the Nikon D750. What I did not know before buying it is that it won't work with my Gitzo G1177 M ball head. This L-bracket is one continuous piece with no moving parts and will not mount the camera verticallyover the tripod's center line for panoramic photos without additional hardware from RRS, Arca-Swiss, or perhaps Gitzo. To someone new to panorama photography, all this... for sony A7rIII with battery grip
Be sure to read correct reviews, as most of those listed are for numerous other camera models other than the A7rIII. That said the description states a modular design Base plate with vertical bracket. This is not the case. Its one solid piece. Also, and very important to myself, it also lists it has having an independent 1/4 thread for accessories- which it does not have. I use a Peak Design Capture along with it and there is no thread to attach ... Show More

Worth it.
I have always like RRS products but had bought other brands of L-brackets before because I thought the extra money wasn't justified for such a simple item but I was wrong. I bought this because I was setting up a new camera body and the other brand was unavailable and I am glad I got this. This is extremely well made and thoughtfully designed. Incredibly well-made
This plate is machined to perfectly fit the 5D Mark IV and works perfectly with my RRS BH-55 ballhead. I haven't found a need to use the provided strap loop anchor since the L piece of the bracket is plenty stiff on its own. I also don't carry the provided hex key in the magnetic holder for weight savings (and I don't intend on moving the position of the L piece or taking the entire bracket off) but I appreciate the fact that there is a spot for ... An Excellent Compliment to the Fuji X-T2
The BXT2 base plate fits my Fuji XT2 perfectly. It has a magnetic slot to hold the Hex Key which is nice because you don't need to worry about keeping track of the Hex Key. It slides easily into the tripod, and has an additional screw mount for an older model tripod. There is a slot for easy battery access. There is no need to remove the base with general use. It looks very nice and balances the camera larger lenses such as the 18-135 and the 56 ... Show More

Perfect fit!
The L bracket is essential for quickly going from landscape to portrait orientation without otherwise completely changing the composition. Combined with a great ball-head (yes, I have a RRS BH-40), I almost forget I'm using a tripod. Nice to have the hex key stored in the bracket, as sometimes I want to remove the bracket quickly so I can stash my 80D in my car's very tight center compartment--or in a diaper bag! We've always added Really Right Stuff plates to all our cameras to fit our Arca Swiss ballheads from the early days when Bryan Geyer took only checks/cash and provided that really straight (hand-written!) talk. Works almost perfectly...
Fits like a glove...but one has to fidget with the SD card door to get it to open fully (unlatch, partially open, push in a bit, swivel, and then fully open). You can fairly easily push the SD cards in and out, but if your fingers are mid-to-large in size it won't be easy to pull out the cards - I have to partially move it out with my fingernail from the side (using the SD card notch - hopefully those won't be removed in the future) and then pull... Annoying
No rating and this is not made for my A7RIII, The Hex range is inside so you cannot remove it. Its like leaving your car key inside your house and therefore you cannot turn the ignition on. You cannot replace the battery without removing the L plate because the battery door is blocked. Last weekend, I passed by Boston to take photos only to find out that my battery power was low. I wanted to replace it but my hex range was not available. RRS shou... Show More

More than expected
RRS gear is typically of the highest quality, but my sample in the first shipment batch had a sticky L bracket that was difficult to extend from the main bracket. I intended to eventually call RRS support, but I got emails from B&H and RRS that a replacement L bracket was on the way. I ended up locking the L bracket about 1 inch away from the camera side, which allows cable access when I need it. The bracket is still rock solid in the extended po... Show More

Perfect solution
I only use Really Right Stuff on my gear, as they always fit perfectly with no issues or they should ofs. Yes they are more expensive than other manufacturers, but at the end of the day, after spending over $8500 on a Sony a9 and A7riii bodies alone, it is a small amount of the total expense. I have the bigger L-plate for the battery pack/A-9 combo, and these are interchange between both bodies. Makes it a simple solution if you want to go large or small on a setup. If you do panoramic photography, there markings make it fast and easy to find the nodal points with RRS panorama plates as well.
