Nicely made - but...
the piece itself is well made though I have a couple of comments. This is a two piece item. I already have the base plate but could not find just the side plate on the website. The instruction sheet is poor. This is a pretty simple piece of equipment but the instruction sheet makes it seem much more complicated. I write technical manuals for a living and I would be ashamed of this.

Great product
Great fit. Very solid construction. With the slide snug to the camera body, I can open all of the side ports with my fingernail. If you want to thread cables thru the slot provided, however, you will have to loosen the slide while you thread them through. I use a wireless remote release instead of the cable release, so I do not have this issue. Works with both my RRS and Gitzo ball heads.

Really RIght Stuff Bracket is Nice
Perfect L Bracket for the Nikon D 810 and fits very nicely on the RRS Ball Head. Construction, design and function all perform very well in the field and studio. Precision is what makes the Really Right Stuff Bracket and RRS Ball Head a solid stable camera support with no drop movement or vibration. Price is a bit high but the joy of working with good equipment makes for a better shoot.

Not compatible with all Arca heads.
This L-Bracket does not work with my [Pro]Master SPH45P ball head. The bracket is very well made, but the machining is so radiused that it causes the bracket to sit taller on the head. The result is the jaws do not properly grab. This could also be an issue with the head, but this is the first plate/bracket I've had this problem with. I will either need a new head or a new ball mount.

Perfect Fit on D810
This bracket is a perfect match for my Nikon D810 without the MD battery pack. The design does not interfere with access to the USB connectors on the left side. I get a lot of use out of the L (portrait) part of the bracket. IMO, it is worth the extra $$ to get the L instead of the less expensive base bracket. As with all RRS hardware, it is both premium quality and premium priced.

Best L-Bracket for Nikon D750
I've tried a couple of L-Brackets or L-Plates before, including the brand new QR11 from 3 Legged Thing. Is far way better. Fits perfectly. Gives you access to 3 side doors and battery compartment; the other plates that i tested, both blocked the miniusb door needed to use with the cable remote and the battery access. I highly recommend this one over the other available options.

For those who are wondering if this fits the Sony A7RIII, I can say it fits perfectly. The L bracket does add a bit of weight to the camera, but it improves overall handling and mounting to tripod. The build quality of this product is very good and the adjustment handle is cleverly attached to the plate through magnet. It is so stable when put on the tripod in both directions.

Extremely well-design and built
Ive bought two different l-plates from RRS and have the same review for both. L-plates from RRS are extremely well-designed and made. They blend into the camera body perfectly, anchor solidly and still leave access to all the doors and openings you need access to. You can buy cheaper products, but for the security of my camera on the tripod, this was the right product for me.

Don't Like The New Design
RRS makes quality camera accessories and I have used them for years. This plate is their usual quality but I don't care for the new design which is made to be able to add on the L bracket accessory. This makes the plate extend to far and the corners are uncomfortable in my hand. I don't need or want an L bracket and preferred the older style or the Kirk style of camera plate.

GET ONE YOU'LL LIKE IT.
As one user advised on how to removed the SD card - it works. No need to remove the L plate to Remove/Installl the ND card.Here's how open the SD door but it will not open all the way because the L plate. Push the door about 30 degrees toward the camera then forward until it clears the plate and the door is now fully open to access the card. Do the reverse to close the door.

Solves the cable issue I had with other L brackets
L brackets and tethering seem to be at odds when you need to shoot in portrait mode. The cables will protrude beyond the L bracket this does not allow you to mount the camera in portrait mode. RRS has provided a solution. You can adjust the L bracket away from the camera body allowing the cables to clear of the mounting plate. Only downside to this product is it's price.

Safely attach a wrist strap
This plate not only provides an Arca quick release plate, but provides a much more certain means of attaching a wrist carry strap. I had one for my original OMD E-M1 and found it very useful, so I immediately ordered one for my new Mark II camera. Only down side is the price, like all Really Right Stuff gear, so I gave it 4 stars. Great piece of gear. Highly recommended.

Save your money and buy the Kirk L bracket for Nikon D810
I was super excited to get the Really Right Stuff L bracket for my Nikon D810. However, on a trip to Yellowstone, the L bracket kept loosening. I asked another photographer on the trip what I was doing wrong. He said, Nothing. It happens all the time with that L bracket. I actually threw mine out. Return it and get the Kirk L bracket. I did and haven't looked back since.

Why didnt I get it earlier!!
Ive had my RRS tripod and ball head for over 4 years and Have had the normal plate. As I needed a plate for my second travel tripod, investigated the L plate and was apprehensive as to the benefit. After putting it on I was impressed by the build, the snug fit and the ability to move camera positions. Its a must have for all tripod users and compatible with arca mounts.

Awesome gadget
i wanted to use this withManfrotto XPRO Ball Head with quick release MSQ6PL plate MHXPRO-BHQ6. I was not sure the combination would work. I checked with RRS and they replied immediately. They said it will work. Truly, it fits like a glove. It is very thoughtfully made. The construction is robust. I am finding this extremely useful. Thanks RRS. Great customer support.

Adds more grip and heft to EM1 MkII
This base plate adds just enough grip area, making for a more positive hold on the EM1 in my hands. The extra weight of the base plate also helps balance the Olympus 40-150 f2.8 lens and teleconverter. You also know that once tightened into place the plate is not going to slip or turn. A great way to quickly attach the camera to an Arca-Swiss style ball head.

Sturdy
I haven't had much time to use this yet but, as with the one on my Nikon D7100, I have had to use some Loctite to prevent it from coming loose. Also, unlike for the 7100, I don't have to draw it out to the side to access the remote plug in - I imagine it is slightly more stable this way. But, if necessary, access to these side ports is possible and relatively easy.

Expensive and hex key magnet fell off
The bracket fits really well, but the price is unbelievable. $180 - wow. Only 3 months into use, one of the magnets which holds the hex key in fell out. Contacted RRS's support team to arrange a replacement and was told to just super-glue it back in. $180 spent, and self applied supper glue is the solution. Last time I'll buy Really Right Stuff products.

Excellent Quality and Fit on my Nikon D810
I have been using this L-plate with a MeFOTO RoadTrip Aluminum Travel Tripod (BH# MEA1350Q1T). I've found it to be much more solid than my previous setup, which was with a typical quick release plate. I often shoot in the vertical orientation, so this plate works great. I keep it attached to my camera even when shooting hand held and it has not gotten in the way.

First class product to go with Hasselblad X1D
Recently, I bought the RRS BX1D-L Set L-Plate from B&H for the Hasselblad X1D plus the X1D hand Strap. I must say that it is a perfectcombination. I have so happy that it if fit perfectly on the X1D in termsof the design and as well as the quality. This is probably the best accessories for the Hassy X1D. See the photos attached. One happy and satisfied customer.

Works fine
The L-Plate comes in two pieces, one is the base plate that goes on the bottom, and the other one is the L-addon that covers the sides. My main issue is that the screw for the L-addon completely covers the screw that secures the baseplate to the camera, so in order to take the bracket off my camera, I need to unscrew the L-addon, and then remove the base plate.

Fits like a glove
I was torn between this plate or a generic plate off amazon for half the price and I am glad I went with this one! RRS really knows their stuff and it hugs the 80D perfectly, making sure everything can be nice and centered when I need that sort of accuracy. The vertical portion of the L plate is sized so all the ports are easily accessible while its attached.

Really Great Stuff
As this is a custom made plate it works perfectly on my 5DS. I choose this instead of the newer modular on with an option of extending into a L shape plate because I don't believe that will be necessary for me. The appearance, craftsmanship and quality are all second to none. Fits nicely with my Area-Swiss ball head with classic quick release clamp.
