Vello Low Profile Bubble Level
Good for landscape photography
The level is only accurate when used horizontally (landscape). There is a tiny level error when the camera is rotated to vertical position (portrait). The level fits perfectly to my Nikon D5300 hot shoe, but it does not fit tightly into the hot shoe of my Canon SX50. Despite this issue, I used this bubble level to calibrate (in landscape position) the eletronic level of my SX50, with good result.

Good for protecting the contacts of the hot shoe
The bubble level fits perfectly to my Nikon D5300 hot shoe and to the hot shoe of my Canon SX50. The level is not very accurate and because of this I use the bubble level for protecting the contacts of the hot shoe of my Canon SX50.

Serves its purpose
Works well for leveling the camera for low angle shots. It is a little loose, so you have to keep an eye on it. a locking nut would good addition.

Pro-level level
I bought this on the B&H sale. Always wanted one for the c300-2. Works great. Professional level level! 3 axis and it connects to my cold or hot shoes. - now I can confirm what the tripod head is indicating, which I like the most. Just what I needed!

The hot shoe bubble level works very well. This is a good idea because I use to use some small levels that were meant for other purposes and now it just pops right in and I can level my camera quickly and start shooting. It helps make for a fast and easy shoot.

Basic, but does what is supposed to
I have other bubble levels which work fine but have to be removed when not in use. This level has a low profile which allows it to remain on the camera at all times. By staying on all the time, it also keeps the flash contacts clean and serves a second purpose by doing so...as a level, it works fine.

Small but useful
I normally keep a hotshoe cover on my cameras (Fujis and Nikons). This does the same job while also providing a small level. Very useful.

No key-stoning here!
I needed a secondary level to keep things straight when using my jib arm. After leveling the tripod, I use this one on the cold shoe atop my DSLR to verify my level horizon. What a great solution!

Really handy bubble
I shoot a lot of handheld so I wanted a easy to see bubble to help with leveling. This bubble does just the trick.

Not so good after all...
After using this level for a while I have to contradict my original review...the level is only accurate when used horizontally. When the camera is rotated to vertical the level is off by quite a bit. There is a measurable (and visually apparent) inconsistency in the molded hot shoe. DO NOT BUY!

Perfect on a Voigtlander Bessa T with an ultra-wide lens!
Bought this to use on a Bessa T body, a rangefinder with no viewfinder. I'm using a 12mm lens on the body, so having a shoe-mounted accessory viewfinder seems less important in many shots than making sure I've got the camera level. This little single-bubble level is perfect for my needs.

Review of Vello Low Profile Bubble Level
Looks to be perfect for my use. One reviewer complained because it was so small, apparently somehow oblivious to the fact that hot shoes are small, so anything sitting flush is going to be small. I bought it to put on my Sony A6300. When the camera is on a ball head on a tripod this is the perfect way to level it, especially for panoramic shots. Decent bare-bones level
Decent level, though - obviously - it's pretty small and the bubble can be tough to see. But for a no-frills solution you can leave on your camera, it gts the job done.

Polar alignment
Fit perfectly on the flat spot on top of one leg of my Celestron CG-2 EQ telescope mount with some super glue to level up for polar alignment.

A so-so level
I use a level in my architectural assignments. I had apparently lost my trusty one of 15 years ago, so I purchased this item. It does not fit snugly into the flash-shoe of my Canon, therefore its not reliable to do the job its meant to. You can center all bubbles, but it is immediately obvious that it is off about 2 degrees. With a little push it MIGHT go to the true level position, but not for me.

I strongly advise not to buy this article
To review this product is very simple because one can tell by objective standards if a level works or not, this on one doesn't work. Unfortunately there is no quality control in production, the indicator is wrong by several degrees. I ordered it from Hong Kong so it won't worth the trouble to send it back to the States and I'm left alone with it. In order to keep customers happy I strongly advise BH to remove this item from the shop.

Nifty little level
Fits perfectly on my Canon T4i. It's a good way to protect the contacts on the hot shoe. Nothing negative to say. It is inexpensive and works as it should.

Have to say I am very pleased
Have to say I am very pleased with Vello's Excellent service la clientele. I must have got a bad piece with my previous bought (and not so good review) that cracked easily. I just received a new one and so far-so good, it is working great and the plastic's integrity seems to be holding solid. I have not tested it in cold wx (below 0F) yet. I will definitely buy again Vello's products. They truly stand behind their product and look forward to satisfy their customers.
