Vello Low Profile Bubble Level

You had just one job...
Bubbles were small compared to the leveling lines, so there is a lot of error during leveling.

This level is awesome for shooting from the hip!
I bought this little level sort of on a whim as I got the dealzone email. I am currently enrolled in a photography degree and one of my assignments was to do a little street photography. I had been having a difficult time getting well composed shots without being so obvious and thought that this might help keep my shots balanced. It certainly did and I was able to focus more on the subject and creative side of the shoot. It also was very helpful ... Show More

Simple but effective.
Well made. Even though my DSLR has a digital level, this saves a couple of button presses for quick check in some situations. Offers some protection for the hotshoe too!

Simple!!!
So much of my photography is done while hiking. I like to keep weight to a minimum, as the backpack is for food and shelter first, pictures second. This level mounted on top allows me to set up with a small Joby, and I can even use my egg-timer pano device for video, as it will level in all directions- just have to get that bubble spot on top. Simple, cheap, effective- and it protects the hot shoe while I am hiking. Perfect!

Point and Shoot Usage
I bought this to use with my point and shoot Canon D20. When bending over and holding the camera just above or underwater, it is difficult to see the screen detail (or on a sunny day). I use this setup to keep my verticals and horizon lines correct. See the photo on how I attached it. The left side (viewed from the front) must be used since it is perpendicular to the bottom of the camera.

Get level
I've notice when shooting my TSE occasionally I would get a little bit of convergence even thought my tripod bubble level was centered. An on body bubble level in the the only was to be sure and when this one came up in the deal zone I snapped it up.

Low-profile Leveler
So I attended a night photography workshop in which the instructor pointed out that an external means of making sure the camera is level, for landscape shots, is extremely helpful. Turns out the instructor was correct, and this little packable object accomplishes that task. Thanks, Laws of Physics!

Good Stuff
I can't see the bubble level on my tripod when the camera is mounted, so having this little guy on top is very useful to re-level the camera for landscapes after taking wildlife shots. I don't use a speed-light and was hoping to leave this in my hot shoe all the time but It has managed to work its way out a few times, so it will live in the bag until i need it.

Level Headed
When trying to copy artwork being perfectly level and true is so important. This 3 axis hot shoe level really helped to position the camera where it needed to be. A great asset.

bubble level
I like this item very much! There is only one drawback. You have to watch how you attach it to your camera. It can get in the way of the flash unit on some camera models. It fits the hot shoe nicely.

Could be better
It is handy to have a bubble level with three axis of level making it easy for you to see in an instant that your camera is level. The downside is that it fits loosely in the accessory shoe on my camera.

Doesn't Fit Hotshoe
This level doesn't fit my D7200, Pentax ME Super, Canon A-1/AE-1 Program, or my Bronica Speedgrip. Broke after the first use when it became jammed in the hot-shoe of my D7200. Absolute junk.

lowly awesomeness
You can't get more basic than this gem. It protects your hot shoe AND keeps you on the level. It does just what it is supposed to. Love it. If you've lost your original shoe cover, you'd be crazy not to get one.

Great little accessory
Nice and compact. Not too snug or too loose in hot shoe. It has a bullseye level also. It will come in handy for getting those horizons level.

need bigger bubble
The bubbles in the liquid do not extend to the lines on each side of the bubble so it's still a bit of a guess. This is the only thing it has to do and it doesn't do it. Really? Otherwise it fits Sony nex 7 RII camera well.

Very inaccurate
Yes it's a cheap shoe mounted level but a quick test rotating it on a flat surface shows none of the levels are accurate or are even close to agreeing with each other. If kind of close to level is good enough then this is fine, but you can get the same or better for much cheaper.

A accurate level that protects hot shoe connections
The bubble level fits perfectly to my Nikon D5300 hot shoe and to the hot shoe of my Canon SX50. The level is accurate and besides that I use the bubble level for protecting the contacts of the hot shoe of my Canon SX50.

A sturdy device with many uses.
This little gem has many uses. It is mainly used in the hot shoe on a camera to make sure the camera is level. It can also be used to make sure a photo hanging on your wall is level. These are tough enough to still work after years of carrying them in a pants pocket with a pocket knife.

a bit flimsy
I purchased this mainly to cover the hot shoe of my Leica S with the bubble as a nice add-on. Unfortunately this litte piece doesn't sit firmly in the camera's hot shoe! And as such I'll loose it sooner or later.

I Hate It
I hated it. This was either defective or incompatible with my Nikon D810. It would not enter the hot shoe more than 1/3 the way. I was NOT comfortable with the amount of force required to insert and remove this. Returned for credit.

Would buy this product again if I lost the one I now have.
Works really well, easy to carry (very small) probably easy to lose so put it in pouch with lens cleaning materials. As always B&H sent in timely manner.

A+ for Horizontal and Unobtrusive Leveling
This is a rubber-like soft material that inserts securely into your camera hot shoe. It provides both Left/Right and Fore-Aft leveling in the landscape orientation only. This tiny level is unobtrusive and out of the way. Those needing portrait leveling should look into the larger dual axis levels.

Excellent solution
This piece fits all my cameras, DSLR to large format view cameras. It makes leveling the view cameras very quick and easy. My Nikon D7100 only indicates side to side tilt. This also indicates forward - back tilt. very valuable for landscape and architectural images.

A useful level that protects hot shoe connections
I gave it a 5 star even though they are easy to loose. I did not realize how much I liked it until I lost my first one :-)
