Great having the right gear!

Aug 15, 2014

I needed to replace the original plate that came with the head. New one fits like a glove and works perfectly by protecting the camera with the soft neoprene pad.

Excelent

Aug 8, 2014

I am a pro cinematographer and have many tripods, sliders and cameras that all have different mounts. I bought enough of these to use on all of my equipment and they work great. Solid, no flex and a simple snap into place and one click disconnect. I am on and off a tripod a lot and wanted something that I could mount with one hand, hear a click and know it was solid. This does the job. I did not want a slide mount that you also had to tighten a sc... Show More

Great Quick Release Plate

Jul 7, 2014

I use this plate on my FOBA monopod. It really helps me change cameras quickly since I have multiple plates for different cameras. Having the different size screws help me to have a plate on my Canon cameras and at the same time I can connect the plate to medium format cameras and feel confident they will not fall to the floor. One con seems to be that the new plates seem to be made with less material, although they are still strong.

Quick release for several Manfrotoo gear

Jul 7, 2014

I got this as spare quick release for my back up dslr camera. I like that it gives you 2 screws for different cameras. I also like that it has rubber surface for grip. I just wish that the knob does not require a coin or screw driver to twist it.

I already have one of these for my camera and recently picked up the Nikon 70-200 lens which has a lens foot. I bought this second one to keep on the foot at all times making switching out a breeze.

Good design

Oct 8, 2013

I like the size of the plate which seems to fit the camera better then some of the smaller plates like the rc2. Feels like it grips well and snaps in well with the right head. Also like the extra mount holes on the bottom so I can attatch accessories without having to remove the plate as well.

Great buy.

I use the plate to attach to my Canon 1D Mark III for mounting to my tripod. The larger plate surface keeps the camera stable and reduces the chance for slippage. It is easy to attach to the camera and easy to remove.

A Bit Clumsy...

Aug 19, 2013

This product arrived as described, as ordered, and on time. After having worked extensively with the RC2 plate, I found this plate to be a bit more difficult to work with. This might affect your experience, especially if you are using it anywhere other than in a studio setting. That being said however, I also believe it holds my D800 and my bigger lenses (Nikon AF-I 400 f/2.8 and Nikon AF-S 70-200 f/2.8 VRII) more securely. With these bigger lens... Show More

I'm In The Minority

Jul 16, 2013

It is okay when used on a camera body, but attached to a long lens foot it twists and pulls the rubber pad up. Tightening makes it worse and it makes a mess of the padding. (See photo) I have four of these attached to cameras and lenses and all will occasionally become jammed on the head so tight that pulling the release lever takes extreme effort and I have had thoughts that is was not going to release. It was recommended that I keep one attache... Show More

Love these!

Jul 9, 2013

I use these with all my DSLRs, rigs, Tripods, Slider, Monopod, etc.. basically everything. I shoot mainly video so having the ability to have my 5D3 mounted securely on a shoulder rig and be able to easily pop it off and onto a slider or a steadicam in seconds is priceless. Originally thought these might be too large but I feel the size is perfect for the above. You don't have to reach under the camera to release it, the release lever is right on... Show More

Real solid QR plate from Manfrotto. It is quite big, but fits great on my 1D X. And I like the size, as it gives greater surface contact.

QR works great fits like a glove

Apr 25, 2013

Wanted some extra plates for my MH057M0-RC4 057 Magnesium Ball Head. These were exactly what I needed and they fit just as good as the original. I now have 3 plates in total. Two on lenses and one for the camera. Great price better than anything I could find locally. They are a bit on the big side but that adds to stability. I use a APS-C camera. Make sure you have always have a coin or common screw driver to tighten.

On the large side

Mar 24, 2013

Does what it's supposed to do. Got a few as spares for the Manfrotto 405 head. The counter sunk screw head can be a bit of a challenge with cold fingers and without a coin in hand, as there is no flip up grasp lever. I found the plate to be somewhat large and can't imagine connecting this to my 5DII without a wide bottom battery grip. On the plus side, it clips easily, quickly, and firmly into the spring loaded mount of the 405.

good grip, good design

Jan 30, 2013

Easy to switch out threading sizes. Great grip, eager to see how the plate gripping material will hold up over a few years or if it will fail like the cork and glue on some plates. Relatively good price for a quick release plate.
