I use a 2017 maxed out MBP 15 for work, and it suddenly died, and at the apple repair facility for another 4 weeks. Great laptop even if it is a little overpriced
Late last year I finally made the jump from Windows (Razer Blade 15 w/ GTX 1060) to Apple (2017 MBP i5 13). Best laptop Ive ever owned
As the headline indicates, I really love this laptop. Mine has 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, slightly upgraded from stock. As Im typing this review, typo corrections are suggested in the touchbar as well as on-screen. I wanted a laptop to do every day tasks in addition to venturing into photo editing. I tend to keep my laptops for 6-7 years minimum so I was willing to pay a bit more for longevity. Sure it's thinner and it still has the best trackpad of any laptop, but... Battery life is poor. I get no where near what I got on my mid-2013 13" MacBook Pro. Crackling Speakers- Not Alone
First, you should know that B&Hs one day shipping actually takes five days. My computer failed to start properly on the second day. After an hour on the phone with Apple support, it started, but then the speakers sounded like someone was pouring water on an old radio. Great laptop but disappointing battery so far
Overall my experience with B&H is incredible, they ship fast and their customer service is great! The MBP 2018 is pretty good but not great, the processing power of it is amazing and it works very smooth. But after using it for about week i am extremely disappointed with the battery life. I didn't want to have to move to MacOS but my area of studies made it so that I had to acquire a computer with this OS in order to run MacOS exclusive software. The i7, 16GB, 512GB model I have is a big disappointment. The touch bar stays hot, bottom hot, and other areas hotter than you would expect. Battery life is maybe 2 hours with display dimmed. Might be the perfect computer
Since 2010, I'd used 15" computers...this year, felt like it was time for a change/a little downsizing. This 2018 13" MacBook Pro is the perfect machine for me. I need a computer with a small footprint because I travel for work constantly and need to take other equipment with. So I know I'm sacrificing the maximum amount of power I could get from the new 6-core 15"s, but ultimately for my needs (maximum portability) the 13" is better. Expensive, But Everything I expected and more
This MacBook Pro is an upgrade for me from a 2011 version which is still going strong actually. I am glad I upgraded and I am also glad I chose the Touch Bar model. I was surprised at how useful the Touch bar really is. It changes based on the app you are using, which keeps all the related commands and shortcuts at your fingertips. I wanted to replace my 2015 dual core with for gigs of ram to get a faster quad core with 8 gigs for improved performance and speed. I learned that with surfing and email their is no major difference even though the older is a 1.7 gigahertz processor and the newer a 2.7.
