It's not QUITE amazing...
I'm an amateur photographer with something of an affinity for panoramas and HDR photography which necessitates a tripod. In addition, I do a lot of wandering around which means my equipment has to be light and compact. After looking around, I settled on this because it seemed to be the best balance between portability, cost, and versatility. It's easy to carry hiking due to its low weight and is small enough that it can be strapped underneath a b... Show More

You get what you pay for.
I got this tripod to supplement my very small Panasonic handheld camcorder. For the price that is paid, it can be said that the tripod does its job well. Portability is one of the main benefits, as it can compact into a nice size for a hiker's backpack (which has worked great for my hiking trips). The strength of the construction seems to be alright, although I haven't put the tripod to any extreme test. The monopod function is not as handy as th... Show More

Great value for quality tripod/monopod combo
I've been searching for a good tripod for years on a very limited budget, and have certainly come across some bad ones that I wound up returning. And while I know you get what you pay for, I always desired finding one that was good quality and not going to break the bank. As years went by, I shifted towards seeking a monopod for my DSLR use, as I shoot video on a regular basis, manual focus. As I got online looking for a monopod for that steady s... Show More

convenient, sturdy, affordable...
I had done quite a but of research online before finally deciding to purchase the 6601TM Tripod/Monopod and I am definitely happy with the outcome! When I began my search all I knew was that I needed something cheap (I'm a college student), sturdy (I'm using it to shoot a documentary in India, and easy to use. The quick release plate makes all the difference when you capture a shot quickly hand-held and the latches on the legs contract and extend... Show More

So Far So Good
Traditionally the 2001UT is my go-to tripod. I've never found a need for a fancy tripod, so the $ sunpak special was always attractive as a tripod I didn't have to particularly worry about damaging or losing. One downside, though, was its height. I wanted a Sunpak that was a little higher without adding the stupid crank that Sunpak seems to think is a good idea. (Why is this necessary? it's 8 million times harder to crank the center column up tha... Show More

Lightweight flexible way 4 long exposure
The good: Built quality is very nice for the price of the unit, the handle has a slight drag to it for a smoother turning(useful for video). The rubber and pin base workd great, monopod have a great height adjustment(up to about 6ft) The bad: The whole head assemble is screw onto the top of the monopod unit, with the panning screw lock down you can accidentally loosen the whole head assembly by turning it and dropping the camera. Easy fix is to use a locktite/threadlocker glue on the bolt. Monopod are kind of flexy but i am not complaint for the price i paid

Great Lightweight Lightstand
I use the tripod as a lightstand for my speedlights. I have two others I use in the same manner. For the money they are a great value. I can get them into tight spaces by adjusting the legs, quickly aim the speedlight just where I want it and raise or lower it quickly. Easy to move from room to room. It took me 5 years to wear out my first one, so that cost me less than $10 a year. I don't think it would be a very good tripod for a camera, it's just too lighweight.

Would NEVER Recommend!
I carry it around in my tote since it's not heavy & small enough especially you can take out the monopad but... be warned. The head of it came apart from the aluminum body while I was using it (I had my camera on it), almost droppped my camera! I bought this tripod/monopad combo in April and now it is broken. I glued the head back but it may break again and I may not catch my camera if that happens so i ended up throwing it out. Beware of this product!

Great tripod/monopod for the price!
This item is a great value for what we paid $ It looks nice and has 2 heads so we can both have our cameras ready to go. The monopod feature is easy to take and go. It is extremely extendable/adjustable. The only drawback is that the monopod can be a bit flimsy when it is completely extended. However I am short and don't need it that long, so it's just perfect for me! I would recommend this to anyone.

Good Value - Rugged
I gave it to my son for Christmas. He has a tendency to be tough on things yet in 1.5 weeks of daily use indoors and out, no major complaints. One rough edge (bottom of center post) and one lose screw (on tripod head) easily tightened with a Phillips head screwdriver. He has a 1lb Panasonic FZ100 and the tripod is stable. The separable monopod is also quite handy and a clever design.

It is a perfectly fine $25 tripod; don't expect too much.
This tripod is fine. Nothing spectacular. I picked it up for my kids to use with their mirrorless camera. They shoot their own landscape shots and feel good having a tripod. Nothing special, and the head is not great. For the price though, it's a fair tripod. I would recommend this as a $25 tripod, and nothing more. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

Decent on a budget
This tripod is worth exactly how much you pay for it. The only real issue i have with it is that the head that swivels horizontally is not very fluid. It either gets tighter or very loose as you turn it. This is an excellent tripod on a budget though. Its solid and pretty sturdy. I love how the tripod head also has a detachable platform as well.

Better than I expected
I got this tripod because I needed a new plate for my other one, and it was going to cost the same amount as getting this one new. Little did I expect this tripod to have fairly smooth panning capabilities, despite it having no kind of real fluid head. On top of that I didn't realize that the center column came out, and extended into a monopod.

Good for amateur photography
-I used this product for long exposure shots and the monopod comes in handy at car events. -I like the multi-use tripod/monopod, its quick to pack up and the monopod releases easily. -I don't like the cheap feel you get from some parts. A screw on mine broke about 2 days in while i was just tightening it. But you get what you pay for.

Great Product for the Price
I used this product to shoot video on my dslr and this did not disappoint. Instead of having to lug around a heavier tripod for my dslr, I was able to easily carry this anymore. With the 3-way head I was able to accomplish some smooth pans and tilts in video mode. It did take a bit of patience but overall I was happy with the outcome.

Tripod broke after 1 week of use
The pan-handle would not thread into the panhead after being gently used for 2-3 days. I completely lost the ability to tilt my camera up/down, making the tripod totally useless. I expected a cheaply made tripod, but the amount of use I got out of it was definitely not worth the cost. I will not recommend this tripod.

best price for getting a tripod with a monopod
I like to do creative photography, and this thing comes it handy while shooting light painting. Great stabilization, steady and firm, its weight gives it a solid feeling. If the monopod extended all the way, it isn't very firm but for the price you paid I would still say it is worth getting it.

practical and funtional
Bought this tripod/monopod for a cross country trip and found that it served an array of purposes. Monopod is easy to take-out for day hiking use and the tripod is very functional for vertical/horizontal stills and for panning with video. Tripod is a little heavy for backpacking trips.

tripod + monpod - what could be better?
If you're the serious kind of photographer who understands when either a tripod or monopod are useful, then this is a good piece to add to your stash. It is as stable as it says - you never want to overload a tripod, your pictures could end up blurry or sagging. Happy shooting!

Great Price and outstanding tripod
I've used this tripod a few times as a back up to a heavier one but I'm starting to use this one as a primary tripod. Its a great tripod for the price and not that heavy at all. If you can find it cheaper... well get it but I doubt that you can beat this price.

Great Product for the price
I bought this tripod a couple of months back.. wanted a sturdy tripod for my DSLR(earlier one wasnt able to hold the weight of the camera once the heavier lens were mounted) and found this one to be sturdy and well balanced.. perfect fit for the pocket

Sturdy Tripod + Good Price
I have had this tripod for several years now. It has held up very well. I like that the legs are adjustable and sturdy. I use the tripod with a SL1 and 18-270mm lens. There is no problem with the tripod holding the weight of the camera and lens.

Not Bad for the $$
Overall, this isn't a bad tripod. I like all of the features. The pan could be a little more fluid, and the monopod conversion could be a little easier. All that being said, I like it and it works for me. A plus for the retractable spiked feet.

Great Lightweight Tripod!
I use the tripod for my lightweight Everio CamCorder. I use the monopod when a tripod just isn't an option. I have 3 of these tripods now for my three cameras. The tripod is a great product. Love the price point on it from B&H too!
